You have to expect to wait for a salesperson if you're buying trees and shrubs. Perennials are pretty easy and there is typically a lot of staff to help. Their annuals are pretty vast with a great selection of and pretty quick to get your ticket written up. Overall they have the best looking plant material around and I haven't had issues with disease (I have with another wholesaler). I read a review from a customer of a landscaper saying some of their trees died even though they followed watering directions from their landscaper and that there was no guarantee. I don't give guarantees unless I maintain the planting and even then sometimes things are out of your control no matter how hard you try. You can't blame the nursery in most cases. Overall, great experience.

I didn't understand what the problem was, so I called the sales person who came, took a look, and told me that they were fine. About five days later I called again because the trees were looking worse, and he told me he would come to examine the trees again. I had also sent him photos. He never came back. I called the office several times, only to be told the he was having personal problems and was absent from work. He later quit. They didn't offer to send someone in his place at the time. Later they told me that they were sorry I didn't like his customer service! Now the fourth tree is looking pretty sick. They told me I shouldn't have removed the now dead trees so they could have inspected them, funny in retrospect since no one was coming over anyway. The nursey has refused to do anything to compensate me. The 3 trees cost me $1,500. Although they did offer 25% off on anything else I purchased. As if they weren't having a sale anyway. Someone finally did take a look at the last remaining tree. She told me there was a drought and blamed me for not watering the tree more. I would avoid doing business with them. My salesperson is the second salesperson that has left in 6 months, Rick was great but he is gone. They don't stand behind their customer service or what they sell.

I spent most of September last year calling every nursery I could find looking for one and Rick at Young's at Three Rivers was the only person who said he could get me one - at the time the only ones available were in Oregon but we decided to wait for a spring delivery. I secured a tree with a deposit and come spring due to COVID shortages none were available. It took until August for Rick to locate one but he never gave up the search and updated me along the way. I was able to accompany him to the wholesaler to see the tree in person and it was just planted this morning by 3 very capable employees of Youngs who knew what they were doing It is wonderful having a Styrax occupying that location again and I owe it all to Rick and the staff at Youngs. Some years later a boy I liked sent me flowers, not roses, flowers. I was thrilled to receive a beautiful arrangement that was delivered by an actual florist delivery guy. That arrangement was placed on a console table and sat there for a whole 10 minutes. Then I placed it outdoors for nature to enjoy because darn it, that arrangement included Stargazer lilies, the scent of funerals. The fragrance of that lily cultivar sends me to places in the Upside Down, always has, always will. That putrid smell is the single ridiculous reason why I cannot attend funerals. I'm certain the Upside Down smells of Stargazer lilies. You know what doesn't smell like Stargazer lilies? Tulips. Sweet glorious spring tulips. Pink, peach, white, purple, red...a rainbow of colors depicting the beautiful Right-side Up and the dawn of a new year. Auging holes for bulb planting can be tedious work, but because I like to pack tulips into bunches, I can place about 4-5 bulbs into one hole, making the work much faster. Colorblends has THE most beautiful bulbs (they'll even pre-chill them for you!) Opening the boxes and seeing those mesh bags filled with large, firm bulbs is almost as breathtaking as the spring blooms themselves. My growing zone 10 means I can plant them well into December, but I like to get my bulbs in the ground by November's end so all I have to do is watch and wait (and add a little water now and then) for the spring show. Can't wait for the 2022 Colorblends catalog to arrive. But first I'll enjoy my spring tulips show with a nod to all things beautiful in the Right-side Up.
