American Dance Academy opened in 1993 under the direction of Darlene-Giordano Cummings. The facility offers state of the art equipment, ballet barres and a top of the line floating dance floor. The curriculum includes ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern, cheer/tumble and pre-school, adult and intensive dancer programs for beginner through pre-professional levels. The staff of American Dance Academy is made up of a wonderful group of caring people who have a genuine love for the art of dance and the children. For years, I told myself, once I'm out of school and working a normal job, I want to get back to…read moredancing....12 years later...I finally did it :) With no idea what to expect from myself or the classes, I found this great dance academy just a few blocks from home. The classes are a trip as there could be anyone from a totally brand new beginner, with no experience whatsoever, to those of us who in our brains think we can still dance like we did when we were younger, but then are faced with the reality of our bodies not exactly moving the way they do in our minds :) Our instructor Karen accommodates all of those circumstances and there is an adult intermediate class to advance to if the beginner class ever gets too easy (HA!)
