The selections here are slanted more towards "girly" selections, which means that Gayle found a few nice gifts and my discoveries were more towards what she might like as future present. There were many options in that department. They had some very nice Christmas items on sale towards the back, but to my surprise, Gayle didn't bite. She told me later that she was tempted, but felt overwhelmed at home with all the Holiday items we already owned. Depending on post-holiday timing of putting everything away (including some thinning of our stuff), I might circle back.

I found…read moreout yesterday, as I walked into a 2-story emporium that felt like it took up an entire city block. I walked through it all, most I assume to be a hefty collection of rented "booths" and maybe some consignment. I'll need to come back again, as each antique store visit is just one layer of the onion. The antique wares were well organized throughout, although with differences in display density. There was a pleasant atmosphere in the store, both from staff and all the curious folks like me taking it all in. The husband of a friend used to be an antique dealer and he often talked about collection cycles and people age out and their treasures move on. I thought of that as I perused and sometimes admired an impressive collection of "stuff" that were previously special to their previous owners, and would someday be again.

I found a beautiful Beaver hat 5xxxxx made in Texas perhaps used once? If that! We got a great Tiki man that adds to our collection from various countries. My husband really wanted me to have a necklace we saw, and while stepping away he found a great ring for me. We could have bought more, but had to hold back. I saw toys from my childhood, and dishes...pretty much all kinds of things too many to mention. The ladies working here were excellent, and have to give them kudos for being so helpful.

Warm browns and just looks beautiful and unique.. Staff was helpful.. On the way out I found a gorgeous set of gloves.. Unique and will come in handy for winter!

There's a story about the origins of this building and how Ron moved it across the street many years ago. Genoa history is a living and non-linear one after all. Lis makes fun recycled jewelry pieces & also sells them on Etsy & Artfire. The store space is supplemented by homey antiques and attractive vintage clothing. It's a fun and friendly place to stop and another reason to linger in Genoa just a little bit longer.
