The Corner Shoppe is my favorite place to shop for items for my home and gifts for others. There are items from this shoppe in every room of my house. No matter where I have lived: NY, GA, MS or now PA I come back to the Corner Shoppe to see what is there. I tell Lisa (the owner) all the time she has such a 'good eye' to find unique things. One day I will find the time to spend the day there to look at every nook and cranny of the place as that is the best way to shop there. Lisa has 'gems' to be found in every room. I'll be passing that way tomorrow for a meeting in the area. I have my eye on a lamp and a canning cabinet that will most likely be coming home with me! The workers are readily available to assist customers with accessing hard to reach items and offer to bring purchases to the front of the store to be held for you. Everyone I encountered was friendly, pleasant and helpful. This is set up similar to an "Antique Mall" but is much nicer than that. There are many rooms and it's so much fun to explore. At first I figured I would only be window shopping because some of the prices knocked me off my feet. I am a bargain hunter and have access weekly to some pretty amazing finds at my local farmers market. I get things for very reasonable prices. Behind the greenhouse, we had a delightful time listening to our instructors who clearly have worked side by side at the farm. Educational facts about herbs with a sprinkling of humor began the event. It is so wonderful to attend a class where they share their knowledge about the herbs and their uses. They give you salient advice that helps you decide on which herbs fit the taste profile you enjoy so you build your herb pot on what fits you. Then to top it all off they gave us a handout that covered trimming, drying and pairing herbs as well as a few recipes! A wonderful experience! Thank you for making my Mother's day extra special!

We first walked into the shop area and saw an instructor holding a class with a gentleman as his wife looked on. At first we felt like we were intruding, but the instructor invited us to sit down and watch his student make a glass pumpkin. My kids were in awe of all the tools, ovens and equipment inside the room. It's not a huge space, but they certainly make the most of it. It was also the perfect toasty place to take a break on a chilly spring morning! We met Etta when we walked through the shop into the gallery. She was loaded with information about the shop, pieces in the gallery and the area. I'm pretty sure she told me at one time the building was a machine/tool shop. Walking through the gallery, we were amazed at some of the items for sale. I think some of the fish were my favorite. We took some time to walk in the back gallery areas, chatted with Etta and eventually met the owner Will. They showed us some of the lighting they make for businesses and homes and invited us to book a class. They advertise a class at $90 for an hour and you can make everything from paperweights, flowers, hearts, pumpkins to a stemless wine glass. The bigger items for sale can be pricey, but their smaller pieces are a great buy. I ended up buying a couple of beautiful hummingbirds. You can definitely find a unique and creative gift here for a loved one, friend or yourself! A class is a great gift idea too :) ..... A return visit will happen if I'm in the area again.
