Natalia at The Dandelions Montessori is a lovely human. My daughter has been attending this small school for just over a month so far, and I feel so fortunate she is there. Some of the things I like best about this school is engagement with the Montessori materials, that the school is bilingual (spanish & english), that there is lots of outdoor time in the little yard/garden, through neighborhood walks & beach days, that the parents help bring fresh produce and other foods each week and that the children then have the opportunity to help make lunch each day-- at this school, they are offered simple, nutritious meals. I also like that the school is small & intimate-- only 6 children can attend maximum (at the time of this writing, there is space still available). I also love that Dandelions seems to attract a more international mix of families and I think this is such a gift for my child to experience. Natalia is calm, steady and warm. She answered my many, many questions when choosing a school. As a mother putting her first born into school for the first time during a global pandemic, I am especially grateful for this. Natalia, and the pod of the other families are all very conscientious and ethical with regard to Covid safety, and that is also HUGE for me-- all the adults in the families and in the school are vaccinated and the children wear masks indoors (as much as 3-6 year olds can of course!). The families of the school also had a meeting at the beginning of the year and agreed to take conservative precautions to help keep everyone as healthy as possible. That experience felt communicative and loving and continues to express in these ways. My daughter is learning new things all the time and is happy after school. I'm grateful. read more
