Chicken sandwich with "ginger mint" lemonade. And a salt shaker with coffee beans.
    Sujan P.

The waiters are kinda unfriendly even if you're conducting the visit in Spanish. Kind of get the impression they don't give a sh.. which is atypical of what I've experienced with the Portenos. Obviously the owner had put some investment into the place so not sure why the staff is so crap for the most part baffles me, maybe treated poorly? But there was one younger make waiter that waa super nice when he delivered my food (no my main server did not serve the food) later I even saw the guy go and clean the messy cheek of some child customer, it was kind of a sweet scene. I wish I snapped a pic of my short kinda chubby shaved head waiter. I think he has to be one of the most unfriendly craptastic waiters I've ever experienced. I didn't hear a single greeting come out of his mouth from the beginning or at the end of the encounter. I would like to think that he was having a bad day but I think that is really his baseline. FOOD The lemonade with ginger and mint was lacking big time just tested like musty South American lemonade with some dirty herb... Or just dirt. They could've at least macerated the ginger and mint. Throwing it on top isn't gonna impart any flavor, later I came to notice a baby roach in it so maybe that's the dirty flavor came from. I brought it to their attention, replaced with sparkling water, no apology by the waiter I informed or the waiter that was serving me. I get it; it's not North America/Europe so bugs in your drink tend to be the norm from time to time, though I don't typically expect that if your at a place that you're paying North American or European prices. Luckily they took off the lemonade from the bill and just charge me for the sparkling water (along with the food of course). They also have these bread baskets, considering it's supposed to be known for baking it would've been great to have tried one. But looking around the restaurant some of the other diners were served the breadbasket however I wasn't, I didn't see it on the menu so I'm not really sure how one qualifies to get it or you just have to ask for it? I will say that my chicken sandwich was pretty good. I like a nice char on the chicken word on the sleeves a superficial jerky texture and the Guacamole was pretty good as well. The potato fries were awful, they were British style and lukewarm, instead of being in slices like fries they were more cut into cubes greasy and soggy. I wanted to try a dessert but given the combination of the food debacle and shitty service by my waiter I opted to not to give the business any more money. I came here based on a recommendation by a local. However when reading the reviews that were in English most of them seem to impart a lukewarm feeling about it. I agree, I wouldn't go out of your way to go to this place and there are plenty plenty better places nearby. I definitely won't be going back and I definitely will inform my friends & family traveling to Buenos Aires to avoid this place.

Don't let the picture fool you...this place is way more than just pastries.

We were in Buenos Aires for a few days prior to our Antartica Trip and asked our concierge at the Sofitel Hotel where we could go for a true Buenas Aires Steak experience. Without any delay he said that we must try Las Lilas. A simple ride over and beautiful location at the site of their redone area along the riverside. Much like every other city is doing. Restaurants. apartments, shops and lots of young people enjoying themselves. We walked inside this beautiful Steakhouse and elected to sit outside where we could enjoy the beautiful view and atmosphere in lovely warm weather. Let me be frank.... Walking into a beautiful Michelin restaurant is pretty much the same around the world. You walk in with a smile and high expectations. Right here in the beginning I will say that the team and service was impeccable from the beginning. Flawless in my opinion. They came over in introduced themselves while bringing us some water, cheesy bread and taking our drink order Appetizers: Three styles of tomatoes. Selection of cheeses from their very complete collection. Main items: 16oz PIcahna steak (shared) Fried Potatoes (shared) Of course the wine was Malbec which paired so perfectly with all the amazing food. I am not going to go through each item other than saying everything was 'over the top' delicious. My friend said to me that once you've had Buenas Aires Beef you'll never forget the amazing flavor. Even through my wife likes her meat more on the well side, it retained the tenderness and unbelievable flavor. There is definitely a reason that a place like this become a Michelin Restaurant. Cabaña Las Lilas is flawless and judging from the look on the faces of the other diners around us.... They thought so too. Please see the pictures I added. Many people shared as the portions are very generous. KUDOS to the team at Cabaña Las Lilas

While this place has been here since 1962, the first time I came was in 1993. I love it here because it is a classic, old-school restaurant, between the decor, the waiters and the grill as you walk in. The service has gone downhill a bit over the last couple of years, but I find that if you connect with your waiter when you finally get him to your table, he will check on you more often. They have a great wine list as well. The steaks are some of the best I have had, and I love that they bring your steak on a steel plate over a charcoal fire- do not let them take the grill- I love putting the fat on there to render away and then ladle it over my steak- so much better than butter! The fries are to die for, as is the Morcilla- so good and creamy- if you like that! I am usually too full for dessert, but I recently had their ice cream- so good and creamy!

Thank goodness for Goggle Translate, we were able to fully understand the menu and communicate with our waiter. The restaurant is very authentic and has an open grilling area for client viewing. We started off with a basket of warm house bread, and it came with several different types, but by far my favorite was the focaccia, which was topped with cheese and herbs and had a lightly salty flavor! All the breads went nicely with the ramekin of sauce on the side, which our waiter described as homemade "mayonnaise." Next, we had the Silo Pampeano salad, made of quinoa, roasted almont, goat cheese, arugula pesto, and fresh arugula. The salad was nothing fancy, but dressed with a little olive oil and vinegar, made for a really refreshing yet hearty dish. Finally, we tried the Milanga Pampeana, which was a thinly-pounded slice of deer meat, which was then breaded and fried, served over fried slices of sweet potato and a side of Mendozan tomatican, which was a mixture of egg, tomatoes, onions, and peppers cooked in a small iron skillet. While the deer meat had a nice gamey flavor, parts of it were a bit tough, and there was way too much greasy breading, given how thin the slice of meat was! However, it was tasty nevertheless, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back to try more of the menu. The standout of this restaurant to me, however, was the service--there was only one waiter manning the entire restaurant, but he was so kind, attentive, friendly, and helpful! Great experience, and great value!
