Let me start by saying that Daniel was extremely professional and the nicest guy, so much attention to detail and passion for what he does and didn't rush us at all given the time we had at short notice. I LOVE DANIEL! I seriously cannot stress this enough, my family cannot stop telling me how I found the perfect photographer for our wedding. He makes sure he knows exactly what you want and captures every image. My pictures came out better than I could have imagined. My wedding day was hectic to say the least- the flower girl basket was forgotten, my dad got caught in construction traffic, a family member got stuck at a hotel, the wind was crazy that day, and my daughter was not in the best of moods. I wanted to have a paint fight with my family. We had done it before and it was a blast, but not everybody was able to be there. This time, EVERYBODY was coming (from CO, MN and NM). There's supposed to be 25 of us. I knew it was going to be difficult to find a photographer that could accommodate all that I needed: So I started emailing and calling around to see if I could find somebody. The scheduling was going to be tricky because some people were flying in Friday afternoon, others were flying out Sunday morning. So we had to get it done either Friday evening or sometime on Saturday. In addition, I didn't have a location yet to do this - I'm from Elk Grove, so I didn't know the area well enough (Truckee). Did I mention that I wanted 2 photographers? I know, I was asking a lot. Daniel was working on trying to make everything work out. But then, tragedy struck. One of my sons passed away a couple of days prior to leaving for this trip and I didn't even want to go. My husband and kids said they wouldn't go if I didn't go. I didn't think it was fair to take this away from the kids, they were so looking forward to destroying each other with these paint bottles. And, some of them, were little enough that they really don't understand the gravity of what'd just happened. So we went. And this guy Daniel? He's the bomb! He had every detail all figured out. My husband and sons put a t-shirt on a hanger and a pole with a heart on it to symbolize that our son (Kevin) was there too. We could destroy his shirt with paint as well and then write his name and dates on it. He would have loved it although he "never would've gotten that much paint on himself" (that's what he would've argued"). My husband and other sons brought Kevin's Varsity football jersey and gave it to me to wear (everybody else had white t-shirts). And when Daniel found out that it was Kevin's jersey that I was wearing, he took some extra shots. In fact, he and his partner were extremely caring and courteous the entire time. They took any and all shots that we wanted plus suggested some others as well. They brought a cooler full of water for us. He went above and beyond for our family, and I don't think he knows how much we appreciated it. The quality of the images is excellent. Dan and his assistant were fantastic. Between them, my husband and my adult children, they definitely made an excruciating time, tolerable and made it feel (as much as possible anyway) kinda like Kevin was there and being with the rest of my family was the most important thing. It made watching everybody else, fun. And then!!!.... We had negotiated a package deal with him. I expected to receive a thumb drive in the mail with all the photos on it, but I certainly didn't expect to receive these extra large prints of some of the personal poses, the more meaningful ones to me like the one with my husband and I with our granddaughter (Kevin's 12 year old daughter, the one showing his varsity jersey, and the one with me holding the pole with Kevin's shirt). That was a very nice surprise. .....Dan, I miss my son more than anything, but I could tell that you knew that I was hurting and you were very respectful of that.. Daniel is the best!!! I reached out to several photographers to do an engagement shoot and from the first message I got from Daniel, I knew he was my guy. So full of energy and awesome vibes! Honestly never met anyone like him and to have him there to capture this moment in our lives was such a blessing. My proposal was out in a secluded area by a lake that's kinda hard to find but he was totally on top of it and started putting a plan together for the incognito photoshoot starting from his first message which took off so much pressure. He helped walk through all the details in advance so we were ready to go the day of. This really helped because there was barely any reception at the location. When the day came, we found each other on the trail while my fiancée was preoccupied by the lake. He had hiked out with all of his camera gear and a giant flash umbrella so he was super prepared. When we were first looking for a wedding photographer we had already booked a venue in Lake Tahoe and when we spoke with him over the phone and looked at his work we just felt a great connection with him.
