Absolutely do not contact, hire, communicate with, or work with in any way. I logged on today to leave a review of this law firm, and it turns out my experience mirrors that of another reviewer (Nate S) nearly word for word. I worked with Daniel Findling for 4 months during which time he did not much more than bill me for mistake after mistake (including drawing up a primary parenting time and child support document that had my name and my spouses name wrong, the incorrect name for my spouse, an incorrect ATTORNEY for my spouse, and even more egregiously, had me listed as the defendant when I was, in fact, the Plantiff and Daniel's client. Since properly and professionally terminating my relationship with Daniel Findling's office I have made repeated (5+) attempts to contact the office including both by phone and email. I have had ZERO response; ZERO acknowledgement that they have received my emails or my voicemails. I submitted a formal complaint to the BBB and the conducted their own attempts at contact as per BBB procedure. They too received zero contact, zero response, zero acknowledgement. AVOID AT ALL COST $7,700 for zero results and dropped right before mediation. I strongly advise anyone looking for family law representation to look elsewhere. I paid this firm $7,700 for what amounted to two court appearances and a motion. Despite being promised a "standard" case with guaranteed outcomes regarding my 50/50 custody goals, they did nothing but drain my finances and drop me as a client one week before mediation because I hit a financial hurdle after breaking my hand at work. Key Issues I Experienced: * Lack of Consistency: I was passed from Christine White to Braden Finch. I was told Christine was let go for not providing a strong defense, yet I was still billed $4,500 for her minimal work. * Excessive Billing: Braden Finch charged me nearly $3,000 primarily for reading messages on the "MyCase" app. He assured me we would handle the balance later so I could focus on mediation costs, only for Daniel Finley to drop my case the moment he returned to the office. * Empty Promises: I was told my out-of-state custody situation wouldn't be an issue and was "guaranteed" results. Instead, I am out $7,700 with no resolution and no attorney. * Ignored Concerns: I raised concerns about overbilling to the front desk (Molly) multiple times. I was told the bills would be reviewed, but the only "review" I received was a withdrawal of representation. This firm felt more like a money-mill than a legal defense. If you have had a similar experience, please join me in reporting them to the State Bar of Michigan. Do not let them take your hard-earned money for zero results. Daniel was commissioned to reinforce my divorce settlement from a prior attorney, Mr.Findling said he would be able to handle the case for no more than $2500. He made two motions one motion failed. He correspondence numerous times because my ex-wife's attorney kept doing harassment tactics. He absolutely did nothing on my behalf he actually made it worse. I was forced to hire alternative attorney for an additional $3500 between lost time and money Mr.Findling completely made my case unbearable while he was handling it when I requested the paperwork to prove what he did numerous attempts to contact him through email and phone calls. I was charged a bill for each call to collect the items he owed me and ask for a refund because he did nothing. He was actually a hindrance on my case Daniel then had the nerve to charge me $620 for legal fees for contacting him for the above information if I could give a zero rating, Daniel has definitely earned that he needs a job with a little less responsibility. Unfortunately, this was the worst legal experience I have ever had. I have worked with the best firms and decided to try this small firm out. I decided to go with Morgan for my family law matter, and she lacked the confidence and aggressiveness that I wanted. I did talk to Daniel about my concerns and he billed me $140 just to talk about his Inexperienced associate. It's his firm and it's his responsibility. When I called him, he told me he would only refund me if I changed my review. What does that say? Who charges a client for discussing concerns about his own associate. Not good business practices. I explicitly explained that my ex would not come prepared and this would be an easy case. It was evidenced by previous hearings and for this one my ex came to our hearing with not a shred of evidence. It doesn't get much easier than that. Morgan was passive aggressive-she told me about "issues" only after I had voiced mine first regarding her representation after reflecting on it. She initially told me she thought the hearing went "fantastic" and after I voiced concerns she told me "my talking and interrupting was looked down upon in the courts". Isn't that something I should be told, as a paying client, after the hearing when we spoke and not coming on the heels of my email expressing discontent? She said a whole five words during an hour zoom meeting and I kept emailing her during the zoom telling her to bring this up. She even tried to put the blame on me for getting the days mixed up of our hearing when I sent the zoom Info and she didn't read it. The email heading even said "see you in a few". It's not the clients job to keep track of an attorneys agenda. Read documents that your clients send you to double check. I'm not paying to be a secretary when I have active representation. I even provided "work product" to Morgan that came from my previously $550/hr counsel. Given I've been in the legal system for years and hired several attorneys for different areas of law, you know and learn what the best is. This was not a good experience. She billed me for emails sent during the zoom call which I was already billed for the zoom call and billed for emails that she read but never responded to. I tried to bring this up to the firm and no response. I finally called and spoke to Daniel and he claimed he didn't get my email and charged me just to voice concerns. Trust me..these people that write these positive reviews don't know any better because they don't have knowledge of strong representation in the legal field. If you want excellent representation go with a larger firm with a well known attorney. I only went with this firm because my case was so easy and they still didn't get it, I didn't want to do the talking but wanted my voice to be heard through my attorney. I wrote her a long opening since the other side gets to talk and she said "it was helpful" but again after paragraph and paragraph of info, she said "mom pays for camp and school"?! That's it. I wanted my ex to be held accountable for a frivolous motion. You pay for what you get with representation. You can't buy confidence or experience. A newer attorney lacks the skill. That's the difference. Daniel says to contact him with concerns but bills you for them and then wants you to take your bad review down in exchange to refund me appropriately. She wanted to have me get ANOTHER attorney that was male (recommended Daniel) to have a meeting with me and my ex. That's why we still have women oppressed because of that mentality. We don't need a man. We need a judge that maybe one of us has a rapport with but not a man to get respect from other men.They don't call back or follow up when you voice concerns.I contacted Daniel and he told me if I wanted to discuss the matter than to let him know. I let him know with several emails and two phone calls. Nothing.Don't waste your time; and coming from someone that has worked with the best civil rights attorney (Deb Gordon), family law (Honigman), and business matters (jaffe). Pay the extra $200 an hour and get someone that has personal relationships with decision makers and adversaries and has confidence in themselves and their capability. There is a reason why their rates are what they are. It's a night and day experience. You only get one shot in court you want to feel vindicated and your counsel is able and competent to fight for you. This is not that firm.
