Secondly , our insurance was delayed being consulted until right before my husband's oral surgery . We were verbally told it wasn't covered . My husband paid the bill in full. After the surgery our insurance sent a statement saying we should have received a discount which was about 50% because we were members of that insurance . The office didn't honor it . Thirdly , almost every appointment we had with them had the time and/ or date changed from the original appointment . I do not recommend this dental office .

Modern dentistry is patient centered practice that prioritizes the patients dental needs as well as ethical business practice. You would never go to a mechanic that always told you was what was wrong with perfectly well running parts on your car when all you needed was to patch a tire. You would never go to a mechanic that charged you for $1000.00's of dollars for all new everything, when all you wanted was a brake job. I've temped, worked at a teaching university, worked for a prosthodontist who lectured and held training courses for dentists from around the world. I'm still assisting and could get free or discounted work, but I choose to see Dr. Yokoyama. He was spoken highly of by dentists and I never heard anything bad about him in the dental community. I have referred many people to him. A former dental coworker and my boyfriend also go to him. The exam and cleaning yesterday were actually cheaper than they would've been at the corporate office I work for, and they still offer travel supplies if you like (some offices discontinued that). A dentist I had worked for had offered to do crowns to fill some spaces between some of my upper front teeth, but I wanted to be more conservative. Dr. Yokoyama did beautiful fillings on those teeth instead. My boyfriend had a tooth perforated during a root canal by a local (retired) dentist years ago, so the results of that were needing to have the tooth extracted and replaced with a dental implant and crown. An oral surgeon did the surgeries, and Dr. Yokoyama placed an implant crown that is cosmetically and functionally great. The front desk has always been responsive and accommodating to us. They get pretty busy (like all offices now), but even so, they are calm, professional, and friendly.
