Hire them. Daniel and Ashley are the most talented photographers out there. They were hands down the best decision I made for the wedding. My photos capture emotion, fun, love, wildness, wine spilling on my dress - every instance of what made our wedding us. They get to know the couple and their families because to them photography isn't work, its a way to connect - fills their cup as they say. They work their a** off - sweating in the 100 degree heat, pushing their way into the dance floor to capture all the craziness. Daniel did our wedding and engagement photos last year and it was beyond my expectations. I've known Daniel since we were in high school. I've admired his work since he first picked up his camera in college. From the start, anyone could see the natural talent he has for photography as he is able to truly capture the moment along with all the emotions and love tied with it. Aside from his natural talent, he goes the extra mile for his work, from camping out at our engagement site and wedding site hours earlier to scout for places to shoot, to meeting with us personally to get a feel for my husband and my relationship. Daniel Kim recently shot my wedding in California and he is AMAZING! I was referred him by a friend and I really grateful I found such a talented photographer for my wedding and engagement shoot. His work really speaks for itself but here's my review anyway: SHOOTS IN FILM: I honestly didnt know what this meant or why this was good but upon seeing the actual pictures I realized that the film ones' colors really popped and made the pictures that much more beautiful. Apparently most photographers who shoot in film charge a kazillion x the price so I count myself lucky for finding a film photographer in my budget. GIVES GREAT DIRECTION: My now-husband and I were worried we had no idea how to pose and didn't have a list of prepared poses going in but daniel was great at telling us exactly where to stand, where to put our hands, etc. and made us feel super comfortable throughout the session. PROFESSIONAL: He's super accommodating and flexible. He's also very honest-Being the crazy indecisive bridezilla, I of course waited until the last week before I asked him to add more hours to our agreed upon contract for the wedding day (and of course pay a little extra for the additional time). Day of, he tells me he re-read the contract and apparently the hours were already included and I didn't owe him anything! Not only was that a great wedding day surprise but he was super honest about the whole thing and could've easily just accepted the check. So.. on top of being talented and nice, he's just an awesome person all around. :) Sidenote: He lives in AZ but it was still totally worth flying him out for engagement shoot and wedding in the bay area. He's done a lot out here so it felt like he knew the area better than we did when it came to choosing a shoot site! read more

I must say that choosing Daniel and Ashley to capture our wedding was one of the best decisions we made during the planning process. I went through 100's of photographers and their work before we were able to narrow it down to a handful. Photography is one of my husband's hobbies and when we looked at Daniel's work, it had a certain element to it that set it apart from the other photographers we saw. Although he's from Arizona, he travels all over for weddings so he was able to do our engagement pictures in San Francisco and shoot our wedding in Temecula. I totally agree that Daniel and Ashley should have more stellar reviews (maybe people are using Wedding Wire or something?). Daniel flew out to the Bay for our engagement shoot in the spring, and then he and his wife did our wedding ceremony in Gilbert, AZ in the fall. I feel so lucky to have worked with a photographer who shoots like a professional AND feels like a friend. Daniel is so great to work with -- so friendly, so genuine, so accommodating, and so good at what he does. His work is really fantastic. I was so pleased with our engagement photos, and I cannot wait for the next few weeks to fly by, so we can see our wedding day photos...! He was really great at putting me and my fiance at ease, when we were nervous for engagement photos, and all our wedding party and guests and even my parents thought he was just delightful to work with on the wedding day. He is great at keeping things on schedule, without making anyone feel like he's being rude or mean or abrupt. I think there were even a couple of times on the wedding day that I went to say something like, "Oh, so-and-so should know that blah blah blah," and Daniel got up and said, "Don't worry, we're done here so I'll take care of it."
