I booked this April appointment in January and that was the soonest appointment. I was lucky to find a rheumatologist in the downtown area since most of them are way up north and I wanted to find one that was closer. When I was crossing the street, I saw a long line for this building and I asked someone if this was a line just to get into the building, the person said yes, and so I was like WTF and went to the back of the line and waited 20 minutes to get in. When I finally got in, the receptionist asked me to sanitize my hands meanwhile there is a dude in there drinking his hot beverage in the waiting area. I pointed this out and they asked the man to put on his mask and refrain from drinking even though there is a clear sign that says no eating or drinking. When it was my turn, I apologized to the nurse for being late since I told them there was a long line to get in, and they said I didn't have to wait in that line and that line was for the vaccine. Annoyed that I waited for 20 minutes for no reason, since someone misinformed me but I am sure she thought I was trying to skip the line. I just want to say I give 5 stars to Olivia Ghaw. She was super patience and I didn't feel rushed at all. She listened and gave me her opinions and she asked me to send her my EMG results and really happy she didn't ask me to book another appointment just so she could evaluate my test. She is such a lovely person and I highly recommend her!

From years of having my vitamins and nutrients malabsorbed, it's caused me to be diagnosed with Osteopenia at 38 years old, and the deterioration of my bones/teeth will only continue to get worse, over time.) In Spring of 2024, I sought out the help of Dr. Gary Zagon due to a seemingly progressive case of Osteopenia that had caused me to endure three bone fractures within 12 months. I broke my Right Tibia twice simply from an increase in my walking routine, and I broke my Left Foot (a "Jones Fracture") that required surgery with hardware implantation, because I misstept, and rolled my foot outward for one moment. Three extremely minimal/no-impact fractures in a year; Something needed to be done to strengthen my bones besides consuming an alarming number of vitamins. Dr. Zagon ordered blood work and various radiological tests to check my bone density and architecture. The results were consistent with what I knew; Moderate Osteopenia. Now what? Dr. Zagon had nothing to tell me. I asked if he could prescribe me a bone strengthening medication such as Boniva or Prolia, in hopes of counteracting the fast progression of my bone deterioration that occurs from my malabsorption. He brushed my request off by advising me that those medications are for treatment of Osteoporosis, not Osteopenia. I made my case: I malabsorb tremendously, I've had three life-idling bone fractures all caused from little to no impact and a few of my teeth were breaking. I needed some help! He ordered another round of blood tests for me and said he'd need the results of these tests to know if a Boniva or Prolia would be necessary. Fine. More blood. Great. Results came in. I heard nothing. I reached out to him via email, again, pleading my case. I was ignored. I reached out one more time, simply saying "Still waiting for a response". I have yet to hear from him. That was a month ago. He knows what he's doing in that, he knows what information he needs to gather prior to making an educated diagnosis. However, his bedside manner is atrocious. The continuous brush-off's, flouting my concerns, ignoring my emails; That's not what anyone deserves from a doctor when they're concerned for their health. He's not stupid, but he is a jerk. I'd never recommend him to anyone, and I'll never follow up with him, again. I have an appointment to get a second opinion with someone else. Dr. Gary Zagon was a complete waste of my time.

It turns out he did. Ew. Now, while we hadn't slept together in, oh, 6 years, the hypochondriac inside me went into hyperdrive and I decided it was time for a trip to the doctor for the full STD rundown. I haven't had good luck finding a GP in the city - most leave me pretty cold. But I have a few friends who go to Dr. Champange, so I thought I'd give him a shot. He's a very cool guy, wry and smart. I told him why I was there, and he made some crack about how actors get laid a lot (it's not just because I'm an actor, honey...;)). My only complaint was that the exam didn't seem very thorough to me (but really, what do I know?). I mean, I told him I hadn't had a check-up in a few years, and I didn't see much more than a little stethoscope action. But, in the end, the fluids were taken, the tests done, and he even called me on a Saturday to tell me I am, thankfully, completely STD free (phew! - Safe sex, people! Believe it!) Thanks, Dr. Champagne!

I had previously seen a rheumatologist for relief who misread the situation and gave me an unnecessary injection, providing no relief and weakening the tendons overall. A friend highly recommended Dr. Botwinick, so I decided to see him for a consultation. He was fantastic, as was his assistant Alyse and all of the staff that man his office. Professional, on time, friendly, informative and thorough: everything you'd want in a doctor and staff. He scheduled the surgery quickly and promised I would have relief after it was done, and sure enough, a week later, that is just what I've got. My hand is significantly better and will undoubtedly improve further in the coming weeks. The one thing that REALLY stood out to me: Dr. Botwinick did not dismiss my concerns about the affects of taking anti-inflammatories or antibiotics on my overall immune health. He really listened and treated me, the whole patient. It is unexpected to find doctors in "traditional medicine" who are open to that level of discussion, and I appreciated his willingness to address all of my concerns following the surgery. Cannot recommend Dr. Botwinick highly enough.
