I was almost bedridden with a horrific set of infections for 4 years, made all the more difficult because I am allergic to most antibiotics. He worked with me to get the best possible solutions even if it always took time via trial and error. It's not unusual for Dr Rice to call back at 8pm. In the old days, he visited me in the hospital at 1am. Again, I feel very fortunate to have had him as my physician.​

I've been a patient for many years. Unfortunately for me I'm back at Kaiser, which is better insurance but less good care. Someday I'll be back. In the meantime you should take my place. Why? You ask. Because Maura provides excellent care. She and the staff are smart and they aren't your typical "get through the day" employees. They all seem to enjoy their day and each other. Plus, what really makes them exceptional is their sense of humor. This is a nifty treat for those of us who savor this human behavior. It's hard to get it right.
