I bought a top floor condo in a house built in the 1880s. The plumbing is "quaint" to say the least. I wanted a washer/dryer in my unit. All previous owners went down to the basement to do laundry. It was a Saturday evening, about 4:00 PM and we were about to leave for 2 week vacation overseas, when we went into our storage room to grab something and found a puddle of water from our hot water heater. I immediately googled who could replace this in a short turnaround and called one of the "big companies" that does this kind of work. I was told they could come on Monday to evaluate and then depending on the evaluation, they would then schedule what would need to be done, which was a couple days after that. My water heater was on borrowed time. I didn't know one could make the kind of noises mine made. I also live in an old, small house with updates clearly made by previous homeowners. The space for the water heater was not only small but pipes for my furnace needed to be removed to move the the old WH out and the new one in. We had a pipe burst and flood our basement. The only shutoff we had was the town one and it didn't quite do the job fully. My boiler was leaking water all over our basement. Rather than call a big company to check it out and charge me up the wazoo to fix it, I called Daniel Wright Plumbing. Daniel came in and fixed the problem within a couple of hours, and it the cost was fair. He even took the time to show me how to bleed out my recessed wall radiators. We will definitely deal with in the future. Sidebar: There's this stigma about plumbers in general. Can you trust them to do the work honestly and correctly? Are they going to overcharge you? and a bunch of other "what if's" that we all ask ourselves. With Daniel as your plumber, you don't have to worry about that. Dan came out to replace our hot water heater at the end of last year. It wasn't an emergency, but the old one was leaking a bit and we wanted to get it replaced before it became a big problem. Other plumbers in the area quoted me between 150% and 200% more than Dan did for the same job, and also wouldn't have been able to make it out for months (winter had just started and they were understandably super busy). Dan worked us into his already busy schedule and did an excellent job. Was super nice, accommodating, and installed the new water heater expertly. He did such great work that I tried to get him to come fix a leaky spigot in the basement a few months later. He probably could have charged me $300 to come out and fix it, but what did he do instead? Sent me to Home Depot to buy a $5 brass cover that screwed onto the spigot and stopped the leak. Bear with me as my next few reviews will all be about contractors since we are in the midst of making repairs to our home in preparation for selling it . . . We found Daniel on Yelp. We received several recommendations from friends for other plumbers and while all of them were great, my husband got great vibes and the most competitive quote from Daniel so we immediately hired him for the job. Daniel came by (on time) to give us an estimate for a bathtub leak yesterday and declared that he was able to complete the task the same day (although we ended up having him come the following day due to our own schedules). He worked non-stop for several hours on a hot summer day. The repairs required him to travel back and forth between our bathroom and in a crawl space under the house. He did not skip a beat or complain, however. Although he mostly interacted with my husband, I found him to be friendly. Since it was so hot, I hinted to my husband that he should offer Daniel a glass of cold water and Daniel politely declined. The repairs consisted of replacing some parts, fixing the leak, and repairing some warped plywood under our house, and my husband gave a thumbs up for Daniel's execution of each of these repairs. My only gripe is that like most contractors, there was some dirt and dingy fingerprints left behind after the job and a hand towel rack knocked over. Nothing major though and my husband dutifully cleaned it up afterwards. I know, I am a perfectionist. Overall, we found Daniel to be pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, and fairly priced. Hopefully, we will find a new home soon and we will never need plumbing repairs again. But if we do, my husband and I agree we will call Daniel again. Danny did a great job during two separate visits to my condo in Lynn, and he even went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only has he addressed the myriad plumbing issues I've called him for, he even installed my new curved shower curtain rod since I didn't have the right tools to drill into the tile myself. All work was done in a timely fashion and with a smile. He's also very responsive via email, answering service, and text, which made scheduling a breeze. The more conventional tasks he expertly tackled include: - Replacing bathroom faucet - Replacing tub faucet/diverter - Replacing shower head (my old hand-held fixture was shot; he happened to have a spare standard replacement head in his truck, so he supplied that part for free) - Repair of garbage disposal - Fixed running toilet - Fixed laundry valves, which included moving my heavy stackable washer/dryer out of and then back in to a tiny closet. I have hired Dan twice to fix issues with a broken shower and a leaky basement pipe. Both times he was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and worked very hard to make sure everything was done right. He explained things to me so that I understood exactly what was going on every step of the way, which was a nice change. I would definitely recommend him for any work you need done. Absolutely amazing! Such a great find. About a year ago (yes I am late getting this in), I clogged the sink on Easter. My brother found these guys on yelp and we called Monday. They were here Tuesday to take a look. While they weren't the right people for the job, he referred me to a drain guy to unclog and then he came back to do the plumbing work... and didn't charge me for the second visit! Fast forward to Christmas time. Our boiler stopped working. I called and left a message on Christmas Eve. Dan came over the day after Christmas (also a Saturday) and proceed to troubleshoot and showed me how to do it too. Nothing worked so we needed to get a unique part (of course). He called around and no one was open. He gave me his cell # and told me to text him if the boiler started working. It didn't and he came back Monday to fix everything. Quick service! Now today, I noticed a puddle under the boiler. I sent him a text and two hours later I got a reply and 10 minutes later, he was at the house and again wanted to do everything possible to avoid replacing the furnace. He left for supplies and came back to seal it up... again he said to let him know how it fairs this week. In the meantime, he will get us a quote for a new boiler that I sure hope we don't have to use. Currently, there is no puddle and we have heat... fingers crossed :) read more

Finally...a contractor that answers his phone, calls back when they say they will and sticks fairly close to the appt time! Have been trying to get a plumber for weeks to do some kitchen upgrades, apparently they are all pretty busy working on heating systems this time of year. Mr. Wright got back to me in a timely manner and was very professional. Of course my ancient home's issues meant a bit more time and thus more money than originally quoted, but in a 100 year old building that pretty much always happens once they see what they are dealing with, so can't say I was that surprised. I reached out to Daniel when I bought my house and continued to call him whenever anything popped up. He was friendly, responsive, honest, and I grew to trust him. I recently asked him to do additional work on my plumbing. After an initial conversation, I then had to follow-up until he responded a week later with the estimate. Once I confirmed, the pattern continued... weeks without response, a cancelled appointment, and no follow-up (despite my efforts) about rescheduling. After becoming fed up with the various plumbers I've worked with over the last few years, I turned to Yelp admittedly as a last resort and came across Dan's profile as I needed a price for an oil to gas boiler conversion at my residence. While other plumbers were either no-shows or insanely over-priced, Dan was able to take a look and provide me with a very fair quote within a couple days. I eventually hired Dan for the job and have been recommending him to friends ever since. Throughout the entire process Dan went above and beyond for me and my family to make sure we had heat before it was too late in the season. I called, texted, and emailed Dan at least once a week for over 2 months as I waited for National Grid (an absolute s-show of a company) to install my gas line and he always responded back and kept me on his radar. Once my gas line was installed (with zero notice from N.G.), Dan began the project within a week and absolutely worked his tail off for us, literally finishing the job on a Saturday night so that we could spend the rest of the weekend at the house (and not at my in-laws...) My gas heat is working great and I no longer have to worry about running out of oil, which is totally suspect. Added bonus - my wife and I don't argue over the thermostat as much even though she often turns the house into a sauna. I found Daniel on Yelp, needing a plumber in a most immediate way for my Mom, (200 miles away in Massachusetts). I contacted Daniel late on a Saturday evening to help my Mom and sister with several pressing plumbing issues. Daniel answered his own phone, and scheduled a visit for the next day (Sunday morning!). I got a warm vibe from him over the phone - he was sincere, and I felt I could trust him to take care of my Mom and sister's needs. (Mom had just had surgery and my sister has a mild disability). His was my first and only call. My Mom couldn't be happier about his work. He came to their home on time, fixed what needed to be fixed, completed work to prevent future issues, and had the equipment needed to complete the job in one visit. In 40 Years of owning a home I have finally met a plumber that shows up at the time they said they would. I had a leak which I assumed was my hot water heater. I had no idea how to even turn off my main water supply. I was in a panic so I called Names of plumbers in my area and the only one that called back was Dan. He said he would be there at 9:30 and he was. He looked at the hot water tank and told me that was not my problem. He then realized it was the water meter that had recently been replaced by the city and saw it was leaking. He also informed me that there was a large water main break in the city which was eliminating my water from coming out of the faucets. He went to the DPW and got the part to repair the meter and installed it within a few hours. I would highly recommend Dan especially if you are clueless like me about household plumbing.
