Shawn was fantastic - we called him in to swap out a leaky garbage disposal, fix some small things, but the biggest project was to replace a water heater installed INSIDE A WALL. We thought that it would be a good idea to change it out before it leaks on us, and it looked like a very expensive job that we could only trust to somebody as experienced and well reviewed as Shawn. Long story short, Shawn not only figured out how to access the heater without having to tear down any walls, he also carefully inspected the setup from all sides and said that we could easily go another 4-6 years with the existing heater. I was born and raised in California and decided to spend the winter of 2015 out in Andover with my brother, taking care of his house while he was traveling (crazy, right?). 3pm: Leave it to my luck to be home alone when water started gushing out from above the garage door. I isolated the issue to the heating system, and tried to shut it all off. I hopped on yelp to find a plumber who could come help, and found Shawn who answered his phone on the second ring. He was in the middle of a few different jobs, but helped to diagnose the problem over the phone, and promised me that he would take care of me. I figured it would be impossible to have anyone come out the same day, but Shawn recognized that having the whole system off for the night would likely cause more problems to arise, and insisted that isolating the problem zone that night would be the best thing we could do. 6pm: Shawn came by and was able to help me isolate the problem zone, turn on the rest of the system, and help to clean up some of the water. We arranged to meet the next morning. 8am: Shawn showed up and knew exactly where to go to find the split pipe. He kept the demolition to an absolute minimum and had the problem exposed, fixed, and zone back online within 30 minutes. I fully expected this to be an extremely complicated (and expensive) job--and it very well could have been--if it weren't for someone like Shawn. I felt like I was his only priority and felt reassured that he had all of my best interests at heart. He was more than reasonable with his pricing, and did quality work. Finding a good Plumber to install your Boiler or Hot Water Heater is not just about getting the lowest cost, although that is important. It is about follow up service and commitment by the provider who takes pride in their work and follow up to insure things are done right. I had Shawn replace my 33 year old Boiler and Hot Water Heater with a Tankless Navien NCB240E in December, his quotes came in $k lower then another quote which we got from HomeWorks for the exact same installation with no promised installation time. Because it was just before Christmas and I had family coming in, he managed to fit me into his schedule. The work was done very quickly and as promised. I had ordered couple of NEST Thermostats and they did not arrive in time so I replaced these myself after the installation. Because my house was old it was using a 2 wire system and while NEST didn't state specifically, I later found out that it will not work unless you have 3 wire or special modification to have a common wire or power source. On Jan 1 (new years day), one of the valves controlling the heat got stuck, we called him with the issue and he showed up on New Years Day and replaced the Valve! A week had gone by and we ran into another problem where we were getting strange ERROR codes on the Navien that was causing it to shut down, we contacted him and he showed up later in the day. The problem was strange in that it would error but then clear itself. After he got the error to go away, it came back again. Shawn ended up coming by 3 times on the same day and he also came by late in the evening. The problem turned out to be a defective sensor from the Mfg. that was causing this issue. He offered to come back which would have been almost midnight. We asked him to not have to do this as it was very late so he offered to come back first thing in the morning. Shawn showed up bright and early this morning with the part and got our system back up and running. We are extremely happy with his work and we know that the failures were not due to his work but manufacture defective part, what it important to remember when you pick a plumber is the service and standing behind their product. You don't call a plumber when everything is working fine, but when something goes wrong, you need to know that there is someone on the other side that will do whatever is necessary to get you working and we found Shawn to be that person. We are extremely pleased with his service and we also have some AC work we planned this summer where we will absolutely use him for the work. Our Rinnai tankless water heater went on the blitz and we were left without hot water. First company we called told us it was the heat exchanger. When I first met Shawn I thought he was the nicest person. He had amazing reviews. He quoted 2500.00 over the phone and then came to my condo and said it would be a 1000.00 more because of water heater type. I understood completely with inflation. He sent a text with the total pricing. Fast forward to the morning of installation when I asked him who to make the check out to. He responded with don't make out the check until it's completed, which made perfect sense. I then texted to confirm the price of 3500.00 that he had given me. He denied the price even though I had messages with the exact unit he was going to provide me and he became very defensive. I asked why was the price different if you just quoted me? I explained that all of the pricing came direct from him so I didn't understand the confusion. He said get other quotes which I couldn't understand since he already provided and confirmed this amount.
