Reading through past reviews, I'm kind of in disbelief of the tirades with minimal stars. I guess…read morethe thing to remember is that doctors are just smart humans who know a lot about the body. They're not perfect. They're not magicians. And if you act like an ass around them, they have every right to be defensive and/or put you in your place, since they are the ones who studied for nearly a decade to treat you. The angry rants with one star sound like people I'd want to bitch slap, so bravo to Dr. Brubaker for not doing that. I, for one, received absolutely stellar care from Dr. Brubaker, and from the entire team at his office. I got follow up calls promptly, I rarely had to wait on hold when I initiated calls, and all of my concerns and requests were met with genuine care and expeditious handling. I thought my insides were going to explode when I got a giant kidney stone that had to be surgically removed. But the care and attention that I received from Dr. Brubaker and his team made me as comfortable and at ease as I can possibly imagine. They were completely professional, as caring as friends would be, attentive, knowledgeable, wonderful. I will go to Dr. Brubaker for all of my urology needs in the future. Highly, highly recommend!

You know that you have a bad doctor when you experience with a good doctor after!…read more Dr Brubaker was a bad doctor for me He did not listen to my symptoms, was not concerned about my well-being, and at the result, he was not able to find a good solution for me. I had a very large kidney stone that can not be passed by itself. It needed an operation. He was my doctor from Oct 2nd to Oct 18th when i found the right doctor for myself. I was not able to work from Oct 10th to 18th due to pain. During this time, I met him once(oct 2nd), I sent him 5 emails in pamf system, and i made 5~6 phone calls to his office. He responded to 2 of my emails. Another email was responded by a nurse in his department. The rest of communications went without answer. Responses to my emails were done just barely on top of 48 hours response time, a requirement by pamf. Pamf requires that emails is answered within 24/48 hours. One of response just suggested to go ER or urgent care if my pain is unbearable which it was. I also got another call from pamf urology department stating that my original operation has been canceled since doctor is busy and it is postponed to a week later with him. While it is a very normal practice that another doctor take over and does the operation if the doctor is unavailable. This is done for one of my relatives in another department of pamf before. His conversation with me at the first visit was "interesting" too. He came 20 minutes late. spent 2-3 minutes reading my description, and then asked me to do ct-scan. He did not ask me any question about my symptoms. He did not even ask if i am in pain or not. But he asked me if i am taking "Tamsul" pill. I told him that I did not. "Tamsul" was prescribed to me few weeks back by my internal doctor as an optional medication. I did not fill the prescription at the time as i thought it is optional. He said " I do not know why someone does not take Tamsul". I asked him to give me a prescription for it. He told me that he can not , despite the exciting ultrasound pictures showing the stones, and despite his earlier comments.

After 2+ years struggling with infertility due to PCOS and endometriosis, over 30 doctor's…read moreappointments, a year of medicated cycles... WE ARE PREGNANT. And it's all thanks to an endometriosis excision surgery by Dr. Camran Nezhat. After being told by my IVF doctor that we had a 5% chance of conceiving naturally, we conceived naturally in our own home just THREE months after my surgery. I myself am a physician assistant & wanted to provide a medical professional's perspective. This review will be long but comprehensive & I hope you will take the time to read it. If you've struggled with infertility, you are familiar with the grueling process. I spent over a year being pushed off by REI doctors in my hometown & at UCSF. When I was failing to get pregnant with medicated cycles, I was told the best option was to progress to IUI/IVF. When I asked about endometriosis and described my symptoms of painful periods and dyspareunia (pain with sex), I was told I most likely did not have it. Even the experts at UCSF said that if I did have endo, the "evidence-based" treatment of choice for infertility due to endometriosis is IVF, and that there would be little benefit from surgery. This is when I began researching endometriosis surgeons and the implications of endometriosis and infertility. I spent hours, days, weeks scouring the internet. I considered traveling out of state &out of the country to find the best. In the end, it was Dr. Nezhat who I found to be the most experienced&impressive. I won't lie to you, the claims on Dr. Nezhat's website & the reviews on the internet seemed almost too good to be true, and I was hesitant and nervous for my appointment. I have never been more thankful to be wrong for my anxieties. His office is bright, open, and filled with pop music, most notably Taylor Swift. Cards & photos of miracle babies he has helped women to conceive litter the walls, no exaggeration numbering in the 100s-1000s. There are stacks of medical literature, including textbooks published by Dr. Nezhat himself - all of which supporting the evidence-based work he does for patients with endometriosis. By the time I stepped into Nezhat's office, I had already been to several different specialists and honestly felt like a number at those offices. By contrast, from the moment we stepped in, my husband and I felt as though we were treated like family. We were greeted by the kindest, most encouraging young women from all different backgrounds. None kinder and more empathetic than Dr. Nezhat's PA, Lindsey Chuang. She has fielded many an email & made many an extra phone call for me, & I've been so grateful. I believe Dr. Nezhat's entire staff understand they are working in a vulnerable area of medicine and are sensitive to that. My impression of surgeons is similar to IVF doctors, they will offer the solution they are trained to provide - surgery. To my surprise and comfort, Dr. Nezhat did not immediately say he could help us & made it clear that it was a real possibility that he would not operate unless he truly believed I had endometriosis. Only after a thorough assessment, including imaging and a physical exam did he clinically diagnose me with endometriosis & recommend surgery. We discussed the innovative techniques he uses for surgery, including the tools he uses for excision and ovarian drilling which is used to restore normal ovulation in PCOS. He was so kind and empathetic. He made it clear we could keep him in the room as long as we wanted until all of our questions were answered. I was most struck by his degree of humility given all he has accomplished. In my experience as a PA, even ordinary surgeons are not so empathetic and humble. I felt very safe in his hands on the day of my surgery, even safer that my friend Lindsey Chuang the PA was there. They are truly a very caring team and as far as patient experience, I was very impressed. Again, as a PA myself, and as a patient at multiple fertility clinics - I am sadly not accustomed to this level of genuine care. Dr. Nezhat called me the day after surgery, saw me two days later and then again 8 weeks later for post op. He takes so much time for his patients. He left me with the encouragement that our "prognosis is excellent," and that we could achieve pregnancy on our own, despite what everyone else said. I tried to believe him at that final appointment, but as many who struggle with infertility know - it can be hard to keep the faith. Well. To my shock. I had no idea that at that very final post op appointment while Nezhat was encouraging us, our baby was actually actively implanting in my uterus. What I believed to be impossible, happened naturally. When I emailed to share our news, I immediately received a phone call & tons of advice from Lindsey & Dr. Nezhat. I could write pages, how do you thank someone for giving you the opportunity to start a family? There aren't words. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you forever to the entire Nezhat team.

Meeting Dr. Nezhat truly changed everything for me. Not only is he incredibly skilled, but his empathy, positivity, and confidence gave me hope when I had almost lost it. I honestly don't have enough words to express how grateful I am. I only wish I had come to him sooner. Thank you, Dr. Nezhat, for changing my life.

Warning: Long review about Male infertility, IVF, Testosterone, Urologist…read more When my wife and I faced fertility challenges, her doctor recommended a semen analysis for me. The results were shocking: I had azoospermia--zero sperm in my ejaculate. I was devastated. Those were the darkest, most painful days of my life, and even now, the memory is haunting. I began searching for a urologist and I am immensely grateful to have found Dr. Karpman. As some reviews mention, he can be very straightforward and less emotionally soft at first--but to me, that was irrelevant. What truly matters is expertise, and that is where Dr. Karpman shines. Some reviews also note long wait times, but in my opinion, that is minor compared to finding a doctor who truly knows what they are doing. Dr. Karpman conducted another semen analysis, blood tests, and confirmed my azoospermia. He diagnosed it as non-obstructive based on a physical examination alone. His expertise became evident when he suggested an MRI of my pituitary gland after reviewing my hormone levels. The scan revealed an abnormality that might have been overlooked elsewhere. Unlike some doctors who may have immediately suggested surgical sperm retrieval, Dr. Karpman recommended medications to stimulate my pituitary gland. After three months on the medication, my semen analysis showed a few thousand non-motile sperm. While modest, it was encouraging--there was hope. Six months later, my sperm count had improved enough for IVF. I continued the treatment for several years as my wife and I navigated the challenging IVF and ICSI process. Throughout, I consistently had sufficient sperm for every egg retrieved. After multiple IVF attempts, chemical pregnancies, and even miscarriage, we finally achieved our dream. Today, I am holding my 6.5-month-old beautiful baby, and words cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Karpman. I still remember the day I feared I would never become a father. Never say never. I am not a religious person, but Dr. Karpman's treatment feels like a divine blessing. I sincerely wish him all the best and hope that anyone reading this who faces similar struggles will consider consulting him.
