Daniel was very kind and communicative throughout the entire process. His prices are reasonable and he was patient and willing to answer my many questions. Also he doesn't require a deposit. read more

Worst Driver Experience of our Lives with a Dangerous and Abusive Driver…read more We booked a private shuttle to leave from Salzburg to Prague with a stopover in Cesky Krumlov on 21 June 2024. Scheduled departure was 12 PM and we were 8 people, including 2 seniors, 1 child, and 1 infant. We got out of our building at 12:08 PM, a 8-minute delay. The driver greeted us with "What are you doing? It is 12:08! Can you be late for a flight or train?" We were surprised to hear that because we had not booked a train or flight but a private car only to give us some flexibility. It took us another 5-7 minutes to keep the luggage in the car and finish boarding. By 12:15, we were all in the car. Instead of getting started, the driver again started berating us for the delay. He was incredibly rude, so much so that our child got intimidated and started crying. We explained that we had a 8-minute delay because (1) we had a lot of luggage and had to take 3 elevator rides; and (2) our infant was unwell and it took us time to settle her. His response: "Why are you traveling with a baby if you can't be on time?" He then started screaming because our child was not in the car seat. We explained to him that this was because the car was not moving yet. Given his tone and attitude, we had lost patience. When two of the ladies in our group started arguing with him because he was misbehaving, he shouted "Quiet" at them and gestured towards them as though he would hit them. At this point, we were worried about our physical safety and asked him to remove our luggage and de-board us. As if his physical threats and other offensive remarks were not enough, he added a dose of racism: "Only *you people* do this", he said to us as we got out of the car. The message was clear. In all of this, the response of the CK Shuttle Management has been most disappointing. Not once did we get an apology when we called them from the site of the incident. They have also not shared the driver's full name and failed to cooperate with the police investigation in Salzburg. As an employer, it is possible to make a bad hire with mental health issues (after all, mental health check-ups are not mandated). But there is no excuse for not owning up to your mistake. SO, PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU ARE USING THIS COMPANY. Their drivers are dangerous people and it is a company that does mot care about its customers. And if you are traveling with seniors or children, definitely do not use this company. Finally, if you have already made the mistake of making a reservation, triple-check that the driver is not Josef.

Stephen was punctual, patient with questions and very professional. His aspirations to one day be a teacher should be confirmed with his ability to bring you back in time to explain how Cesky Krumlov began, continued to grow with generations of rulers, through world wars, communist rule and its modern day survival thanks to tourism. The tour was thorough and just under two hours. We enjoyed our time together. Lots of walking, steps up/down and cobblestone streets. Be prepared. Enjoy!

Daniel, our tour guide, did not show me anything I did not see since it is a small town. I arrived three days earlier. However, he had a fluid knowledge of the history of the area and nomenclature of the architecture. He had a dry sense of humor and easily filled the two hours with narratives, description of buildings, and the political impact on the town. I used some of his local tips on eateries and breweries and was not disappointed. I knew the town had a prominent place in CZ history, but now I know the characters behind the evolution. Our group was not the photo taking type, but I am sure you can snap away and discreetly step away from some of the dialogue. We wandered half the time in Old Town and headed up to the castle for the rest of the time. Tipping is expected but I had no misgivings about it since it was time well spent.

The hotel messaged me before arrival exactly where to park and what to tell the parking attendant which made arrival a breeze. Check in was smooth, and because Hotels.com for some reason booked me into a 3 bedroom suite (at the price of their normal sized room) and the hotel needed to use our room to accommodate a large family, my daughter and I were happy to accept their offer of $20 euros to use at their restaurant in exchange for taking a smaller room. Worked out perfectly. The staff at the front desk (two guys) were extremely professional and courteous. They had maps showing where to go and even let me use an iPhone charger for the night. The room was very clean and modern and had excellent amenities. Probably the best part about the stay was their free breakfast buffet. They had very high quality food from eggs Benedict style cooked eggs to bacon and meats and cheese and sausages, to fresh fruits and drinks and an Espresso machine. Will absolutely stay here again and recommend them to anyone.

First the bartender was extremely rude because we were only drinking wine. We picked a $35-$37 bottle of wine and two bottles of water. The white wine was served hot and was not properly chilled. Next the server brought the wrong kind of water we asked for still not sparkling. The final straw was when we asked for the bill. Immediately the serve said they do not take credit cards! We went to the hotel and they said that wasn't true. We paid in cash, but telling patrons you don't take credit cards when you do is just a crappy scam. The server was rather rude. I suspect because they are in the tourist center they don't really care about the quality of service. I gave them two stars because the place is nice looking and convenient; however, I do not recommend giving this your business if you are looking for a great experience go elsewhere.

My friend got a really impressive chicken with goat cheese and double cream which I would recommend because it looked way better than my gnocchi (which was definitely the safe option). The staff speaks good English so that's always good. tldr; not bad, but I would wander around and explore some of the other options before settling on this one

There is also a cute old doggo that strolled around the lobby and sniffed my feet a few times :P The hotel itself felt like a mini medieval castle, with (short) winding stairways and 13th century decor and furnishings. There was one tiny window in our room and a slanted ceiling in the shower which rly fit the vibe LOL. But not to worry, there are modern amenities provided. The overall experience felt reminiscent of staying at a cabin of an airbnb superhost which felt very homey :) Thank you Hotel U Malého Vítka! I strongly recommend staying at this hotel if you're in town.
