My daughter used four outfits; Dawn & Sue were patient and inspirational toward her. I appreciate how easy it was for M. to relax in front of the camera with both Dawn and Sue guiding her poses. They are personable thus making it easier for the subject to open up and feel confident in front of the camera. Both photographers have an exceptional "eye" for scenery options, and use natural lighting options in an optimum manner. Importantly we were not rushed, and I was allowed glimpses of the portrait captures. This was reassuring and exciting to me, allowing me to preview the outcome. We were included in the session decisions at appropriate times. For the second session M. was invited to their spacious studio in Mukilteo. We agreed upon a Makeup/Hair Artist for this session. This site has a spacious dressing room area, complete with cosmetology chairs/counters. M. is an aspiring entertainment industry candidate, and a current dancer. Our vision was to obtain workable head and body shots, for industry purposes. Dawn and Sue were incredible with regard to assisting M. toward relaxing in front of the camera, and I am amazed with the wonderful shots captured! Positive comments are flooding in, including comparison of certain shots to Vogue or similar magazines. These experts quickly put sneak peek shots onto facebook, allowing patrons a nearly immediate glimpse of the session. This is followed by access to a secure site, where the customer can view massive images and make purchase decisions. I highly recommend Lifelong Photography! Our experience is reflective of a Senior shoot, or model head/body shoot. I have viewed their family and child images, which are also impressive.

She was very quick to respond to my initial inquiry (which was an issue I'd been having with other photographers), and was very communicative throughout the process. When we arrived at her studio in Stanwood, the atmosphere was absolutely perfect for a newborn - dim lighting, soothing music, and a warm environment. The studio was super clean, and even had a bathroom with a changing station and diapers / wipes in case we needed them. There were many hats, blankets, and props to choose from. But what we loved the most was Ana's warm, sweet, gentle way with the baby. She's a baby whisperer!! I am really picky when it comes to new photographers but Ana was referred to us and so I thought we would give her a try. It was our first "mini session" and I was afraid a timed mini session anywhere would feel rushed (especially with a toddler) but we did not feel rushed at all. Ana was very patient and created a stress-free environment, she let us take our time with every pose, and even got our toddler to smile quite a bit (which in the past we found difficult for anyone else to make him smile). She knows how to work with little ones! She had great ideas for poses as well and also made sure there weren't any specific poses we wanted that were left out. I came into this session just wanting 5-10 photos but she delivered so much more and I'm so thankful we got copies of all of that because the pictures really did turn out great! Stacey brought a lot of outfits, wraps, backgrounds, etc. for us to choose from which was really helpful since we weren't completely sure what we wanted - and she suggested some really adorable poses! She's very warm and gentle with the newborns, and just as great with the toddlers; she read a story to our 2-year-old daughter while I nursed the baby, and our daughter just adored her. Prior to coming to our home, she also emailed several suggestions for getting ready (such as making sure the room was a little warmer than normal so the baby would stay sleepy and happy through outfit changes). We find her so fun to work with and she makes the process so easy; it's amazing to be put at ease while having your picture taken. She had the pictures to us within the week, and they are gorgeous! Longer Answer: I needed a "headshot." Truth be told, I would prefer having a tooth pulled than having my picture taken, especially when it is just me. Thank you, no. After receiving more than a few proposals for my YELP request (which is one of the things I love about YELP) and filtering through them, I found I kept coming back to Courtney's website. After speaking with her on the phone, I knew she was who I wanted to work with. I mean, really, I can only take so many bad selfies, even with all those festive "apps" before I realized I wanted find a real photographer. Courtney is more than just a real photographer; she is an artist. When I showed up for the photo shoot, I was as nervous as can be. It's silly but true. Put me in front of a crowd of people to speak, a high school full of students, even when faced with that service writer about to tell me "Lola" (my car) needs "a bit more work than we were hoping...". That I can handle. No fear! But point a camera at me? Yeah...no. But I digress...again... Then I met Courtney Holcomb. Courtney has this amazingly calm manner and this kind smile that would help anyone relax. She listens. She asks questions that actually apply to the photo shoot. She wasn't trying to schmooze me. She was trying to make sure I got what I wanted. She explained exactly what she wanted me to do and how she wanted me to do it. She is patient. She smiles. She gets me. How cool is that? And I loved the studio! Come to find out, Courtney has access to several amazing studios, from basically the US/Canada border to the Seattle/Bellevue a rea. This makes it so much more convenient for me, and it was perfect! It was in this old building in Everett with these incredibly tall ceilings, tons of natural light (even that day when it was on the verge of raining), these gorgeous billowy curtains, and lots of furniture possibilities. It has a great dressing room area, too. In fact, the whole place is spacious enough for a herd of family without feeling cramped. Perfect. Now, let's dash to the INCREDIBLE proofs! First, I received them incredibly quickly, and the platform she uses to review them is very easy to use. The pictures themselves? WOW. They are wonderful. They made me feel beautiful. I felt like she found how to make me look kind and strong, which was exactly what I was hoping for. Did I mention her prices are more than fair? She is warm, easy to connect with and feel relaxed around. She has a very contagious laugh which I believe is a necessary asset in a photographer. She is great with kids and creative at keeping toddler's attentions. At a newborn session with my week old son, I wanted some bare bottomed pictures. As soon as his diaper came off he unloaded all over her. She didn't even bat an eye. Just chuckled, whipped out her own wipes and went right along with our session. She comes to each session with her own ideas but always asks us what our vision is. She is creative with her shots and editing but not so out there that it seems unrealistic. She captures moments that are unexpected. My little tot was not thrilled for one of our sessions. Older sister sat down next to him with a look on her face that could only be described as a preschooler eye roll at little brother's tantrum. Kari captured that moment and knew it would be a picture that would make us smile. She has sent us walking to our next shot location and stood behind to sneak photos of us walking and hand holding. Some of these informal pictures of our family are what we cherish the most.
