Neil & Fiona of MXBloom were our power couple duo that provided both photography & videography services. Back in fall of 2022, they did our engagement shoot. We originally weren't that interested in doing one, but that was one of the best decisions because it allowed us to interact with Fiona (& Neil) before our big day. She directed us, captured our moments beautifully, and was so fun to work with. On our big day, Neil & Fiona were a rockstar team! They were professional, polite, AND also so much fun to have around! What I found particularly striking was their ability to capture the candid and posed moments throughout the day, without us feeling like we had to break from "being in the moment" (if that makes sense.) You could tell throughout the entire time, they were both "on" and trying to identify all the amazing, key moments to photograph/video. There were several times we had to shift our timeline during the wedding, and they were both very responsive and accommodating to those changes. They worked so well with our DJ/MC Alan (which by the way, is such an important aspect - vendors being able to work together like one team.) Their service and value provided was worth every cent. And given our wedding was a blending of our Asian (Chinese/Vietnamese) heritage and Western upbringing, we felt Fiona & Neil were the PERFECT people to document our big day. It was also such a touching moment seeing how my parents, who speak Chinese Mandarin, were able to make conversation with Neil & Fiona. Oh, one other mind-blowing fact. Fiona was about 7.5 months pregnant when she was working on our wedding day. Yet, the way she carried herself and energy she brought, you couldn't tell she was pregnant at all! A superwoman! If you're planning on having a wedding (or any other life milestones). If you're planning on finding ONE company that does both photography & videography (which I highly recommend). If you're planning on having a highly talented, professional team document your big day - hire MXBloom. Also, if you're planning on having an Asian/Asian-leaning wedding, Neil & Fiona are the choice for you. Unfortunately my tattoo didn't turn out great and instead of taking responsibility the blame was put on me and my skin. I have 20+ tattoos and followed after care protocol, stayed out of the sun, no swimming etc. Also, touch ups are $100 just a heads up. This was not communicated until after I reached out about a touch up. Most tattoo shops do complimentary touch ups so I would recommend looking elsewhere. (Edited: touch ups are $105)

Stacey brought a lot of outfits, wraps, backgrounds, etc. for us to choose from which was really helpful since we weren't completely sure what we wanted - and she suggested some really adorable poses! She's very warm and gentle with the newborns, and just as great with the toddlers; she read a story to our 2-year-old daughter while I nursed the baby, and our daughter just adored her. Prior to coming to our home, she also emailed several suggestions for getting ready (such as making sure the room was a little warmer than normal so the baby would stay sleepy and happy through outfit changes). We find her so fun to work with and she makes the process so easy; it's amazing to be put at ease while having your picture taken. She had the pictures to us within the week, and they are gorgeous! They looked like lovely pictures of real, happy people - not overly-processed and cinematic. This is exactly the type of style I wanted for our micro-wedding. I generally dislike having my photo taken, and I'm notorious among my friends and family for refusing to be photographed during events. In spite of that, naturally I expected to endure many pictures on my wedding day. Even with my reservations, it all passed so quickly and easily! No feelings of overwhelm, exhaustion, frustration, or impatience. To begin with, we had a Zoom call to serve as our introduction. My distaste for being seen digitally extends to video chats, but Joanna immediately helped put me at ease. She is an expert in her field and specializes in people who are less comfortable with having their photo taken. She offered logistical support in planning our day, as well as the emotional support that comes with having an ally who can understand your position and work with you. She is so kind and personable, which is perfect for those of us who are a little more on the timid side. In terms of the day of, she was already at the venue well before the rest of us arrived. In between taking some get-ready shots, she even helped my family member get into a very tight-fitting dress. I genuinely don't know if we could have wrangled that zipper up without Joanna's help! After that, she gave a brief lesson to my person-of-honor, showing how to properly fluff out my dress's long train behind me. Additionally, I noticed she was skilled with remembering the names of our close family and wedding-party members. Joanna is so organized and swift with her camera. Despite beginning our ceremony a little later than scheduled, she managed to shoot every photo we wanted within our tight timeframe of just two hours - with a few minutes to spare, too! She's also great at giving clear direction to help improve positioning and posing. And it all flew by so fast. She had our photos ready with astonishing speed (just one week later!), and they were just as wonderful as I had hoped! These are exactly what I wished our wedding pictures would look like. I'm so happy with the variety of different shots Joanna managed to capture, and I'm in disbelief of how well they turned out.
