Forrest is a great guy to work with! He is on his game, really personable, professional and a great DJ! Forrest listened to a few of the songs I wanted for the key moments and immediately picked up on the type of music I liked and what kind of vibe we were going for. He followed up prior to the wedding to run through the details and confirm and everything went super smooth the day of. We got so many compliments on him and I appreciate that he played a big part in keeping our dance floor going (I do have some of those family members who would be out there no matter what, but I was surprised about how many we ended up having!) and working with our wedding coordinator to stay on schedule without making it awkward was great; he segways very well. They answered all of our questions, provided thoughts/expertise where needed, and made us feel comfortable the whole time. We had an added wrinkle of getting married in Chicago while DesiJunction is based out of Houston, but they helped with all of the equipment rentals, communicating directly with those companies and making sure we got the best price as well! They also have a lot of tools which help you customize your experience for exactly what you need! Being a mixed cultural wedding, we needed a good mix of Indian and American music. To make the situation more complex, I requested 80s and 90s. The DJ and his crew hit a home run. The sound system and the lighting was on spot. They communicated very well. They made us feel at ease and made sure that everyone had a great time. Their charges were very reasonable as the wedding expenses can get out of hand fast. I highly recommend them. You will be very happy with them.

First things first. This was an Indian wedding and we needed Indian music. They can't do Indian…read moremusic. If you want it then you need to provide them with a list of songs. This was my biggest mistake because I thought I would be able to get a comprehensive list together, but I wasn't able to. So the Indian music was lacking. In the middle of the reception, Michael walks over to our sweetheart table and asked me, the bride, what was supposed to be happening at that moment! I had given them documents of the order of things for that very reason and we had a planner. Obviously, I would have problems remembering off the top of my head what was next. I told him the wrong thing and we had to awkwardly go back and do some things we skipped over. That was very bad form for a DJ. The DJ, Michael, would yell out things like "Saturday nights" during the dance music which obviously is not the right vibe for a wedding. He did not read the crowd well and played songs for too long when everyone was tired of it and not dancing anymore. The photobooth was not set up correctly. When Joe and I spoke about it on the phone, he said there would be 10 feet of space that the photobooth would capture but they had it set up so that there was only like 6 feet. I remember this because after I got the measurements from him, I tried to get a floral backdrop that was as wide at the picture would be able to get. I couldn't get anything bigger than an 8ft wide wall but even that wasn't fully captured. The guy monitoring the photobooth was very rude and badly behaved. He was having the time of his life (which we got in our videos) and gave me attitude about how we were still taking pictures at the end of the night. Given these issues, I would say how much we paid made sense because they were on the cheaper side (compared to Indian DJs). The uplighting made the ballroom look great. We said pink uplighting but it came out purple which worked out. I have a before and after attached of the ballroom.
