They had the job completed in less than four hours, including clean up. It was impressive to watch how organized and efficient they were. We particularly appreciated that any time there was the slightest question about what we needed done, they made sure to ask before proceeding another step. Many of the trees were located at the periphery of our inner yard area which is surrounded by wooden rail fencing and they took particular care to ensure no damage was done to the wooden rail, the flower beds or grass. After agreeing on the original estimate and start date, I contacted Kevin later to add a couple of trees which he did without hesitation for a bargain price. I don't know most of their names as there were probably ten or more working under Kevin's direction and all, to the man or woman, friendly, especially Daniel, who loves animals and even "hugged" our 2,000 lb pet Angus steer, Bosco. Our first bid was for $3,200 dollars ($1,600/piece) to have it removed because a crane would have to lift the branches and logs over one of our houses. My neighbor had heard of this tree service called Better Branches who claimed they could cut it down by hand. At first I was very skeptical. It was a huge tree with branches extending into 3 different yards. The price was much affordable for us, so we decided to let Better Branches do the work. Justin, who climbed the tree we lovingly nicknamed the "tree squirrel". He was very meticulous with every branch he cut to make sure it was not going to land on a structure. When it came to cutting the tree itself he was even more meticulous. A neighbor asked him what was taking him so long and his response was "I don't want to damage a sprinkler head". It took a while for it to be cut but that was ok with us. We were in no hurry. I don't mean by months but by just a few weeks, only working on weekends. The neighbors thought it was quite miraculous that Justin cut the tree himself and had his brother and son on the ground to lower down the pieces. After he was done, we asked him if he would cut down a Mountain Ash that was growing crooked in our yard. For $20.00 he cut that too and hauled it away. The crew even swept the top of our shed off where much of the saw dust had fallen. We could have paid the $3,200 to have it done in a day and branches and large pieces of tree swung over our house with a crane. But Better Branches did an AWESOME job at a fraction of the price. What they do is an art. Justin, if you have an arborist on staff, we need help with our Linden Tree in the front. We would highly recommend them.
