I scheduled a "rekey" service with my home warranty company. Dan's Pro-Lock came out, and the locksmith rekeyed the doors. The next week, I discovered that the *old* keys still worked in all my doors. So the rekey had not made my home any more secure than it had been before. They refused to refund the money, because he had technically rekeyed the locks. And I had to hire someone else to come out to redo the work. read more

We hired Dan's Pro-Lock (via Realty Re-key) to replace the locks on our house as part of the process of selling our house. They were initially a little slow to respond and schedule, but it met our needs and was a good price, so we booked with them. On the day of the appointment, I got a message from their dispatcher that the tech was having car problems and needed to reschedule. This is unfortunate, but understandable and bound to happen once in a while. However, what was truly unprofessional and earns my 1-star rating, was the fact that they then were entirely unavailable to even discuss rescheduling. There was no way to reach the dispatcher directly by phone, and they did not respond to my messages back to them (they texted to tell me about the initial problem). I made several more messages and calls to their answering service, and was never able to reach someone who could discuss the situation with me. Finally, 24 hours later, and running up against our deadline for the sale, which we had previously established with them, I got only a cursory text saying they couldn't follow through. This left us in a lurch that cost a lot of time and money to resolve. I can't speak to the professionalism of the individual locksmiths, but the bigger business structure and dispatch is a total mess. STAY AWAY! read more

They sent a thief to our house. They were contacted through our home warranty company, One Guard. They did the job and demanded onsite payment. Next, the warranty company charges us for the service claiming the company denied receipt of payment. I now have to rekey the whole house since a thief has our key combinations, and on top of that, I have to pay twice for allowing a thief into our house. read more

Our home warranty company sent them to our home to re-kay our locks. They did not re-key our locks correctly. We had to get the locks re-keyed by another locksmiths. Then, Dan's Pro-Lock told the home warranty company that they did in fact rekey our locks correctly and continued to charge us. They also don't answer the phone. Please avoid them. read more

Dan's Pro-Lock was assigned to me through my home warranty service, AHS. There were several rekeys and one of the locks involved was a Schlage digital/mechanical combo lock. The mechanical locks were rekeyed alright. But the technician wrecked the digital part of the Schlage. In his defense he said that he had no proof that the digital part was ever working (it worked fine until he messed around with it). He then insisted that he worked with this type of lock all the time. IF that is true, then he must have accidently shorted something out or something similar. So beware. read more
