Took our cat, Alaska, here to get groomed on Mother's day. Long story short, called me about 50…read moreminutes after I dropped off and said our cat escaped out the back door! Rushed to groomers and got there in about 10 minutes. No one was looking for her and just working on some dogs. This day and the next several days, I kept searching for our cat with no help offered by this business. From the first day, he was talking of reimbursing us or getting us a new cat! Didn't show interest in finding her!! Strange way to act if you lose a client's pet, who is a family member, unless of course she didn't escape!!! Ps: Alaska was an older and rounder cat. We used a step chair for her because she couldn't jump very well and she couldn't run very well either! And all the posters we put up about her missing, someone has taken down! Owner of property and people from other businesses said they'd be on the lookout for her. They had no idea what had happened! Owner did check his cameras and saw no cat running in the back, where she escaped! (?)

They charged me an "early check in fee" for dropping my dog off at noon, and a "late check out fee" for picking him up at 5pm! Then, because I didn't buy a bath (I had literally bathed him right before dropping him off), they charged me another full night. The front desk woman actually said "if you don't purchase a bath, we charge another nights fee" How is that anything but predatory business practices!? But the part that made me completely lose the trust I had, was that they forgot to feed my dog for an entire day! They tried to claim he was "picking at his food," but the moment he got home, within a few minutes he ate his entire meal with zero hesitation. This place went from reliable to downright unacceptable. I refuse to support a business that nickel and dimes customers while neglecting the basic care of the pets they're paid to look after!

I take my dog to Petco for grooming. He's been going there since he was a little pup and he's now…read more3. Today he had the worst experience and scare ever. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the incident even happened because it makes no sense given the location of his injury and the set up of the grooming table. He usually gets handled by Zaida who wasn't there today. I couldn't schedule an appointment online with her because it says all slots are unavailable so I had to call in an appointment. I trust everyone who is employed there know how to handle dogs properly and carefully. Well I get a call maybe little less than an hour after dropping him off. All that was said to me at first was there was an incident with Tyson and they are taking him to the pet clinic, Pet Doctor 911 in mcallen. I asked what happened and the employee who called me said she doesn't know. I had to literally raise my voice and demand to speak with someone else just to get an answer. You can't call someone and tell them oh we have to take you dog to the hospital but I don't know why. So finally I was told he had a cut on his paw that he got from the grooming table tether. They told me he was being put up on the table when his paw got caught in the neck tether and he got spooked and tried to jump off resulting in the tether slicing his dewclaw. I'm still confused as to how his paw would even get caught in that tether to begin with. And from the position and location of the injury it does not seem possible to me. They took him to a clinic that we've never visited ( he sees the doctors at Banfield pet Hospital since his insurance is through them). This place would not let me enter with him for the consultation with the doctor. I had to wait there in my car until they were done. Was not given a time frames. Their policy stated if you leave the vicinity they would charge you $45 fee on top of your vet bill. Worst experience for me and my pet. He had already been hurt somewhere and now he has to go into an unknown place alone. No one from petco offered an apology nor called to check on the status of my pet after the incident. I'm not even sure if they paid the clinic because once my pet was released, the technician asked me to contact the groomers which I had did an hour earlier after talking on the phone with the veterinarian. I asked if I needed to stay until they received payment but they clinic assured me they would get in contact with Petco to resolve the bill.
