Dawn reassured me he was just having a reaction to the vaccine, but when I took him to the vet we found out he had fleas, giardia and mycoplasma. He's also a spiteful fellow, even now that he's older. He's bold and brave and we love him, but he has always has significant aggression issues. I do not believe he was well cared for in Dawn's home. Dawn did refund me for the kitten after we shared vet records of his issues but unless the environment has significantly changed, I do not believe she should still be breeding kittens.

When I picked up my kittens, both were sneezing…read more Dawn mentioned they might be reacting to the outside air, as I had to meet at a gas station per - her request. She then handed me the older kitten, who was infested with fleas. I was surprised, and she responded that she had just given them a flea bath and they hadn't died from it yet. At that point, I should have reconsidered. Once I got the kittens home, my vet told me I had 'saved them', but also informed me that they both had an upper respiratory infection and mycoplasmosis, a rare condition that can be treated if caught early. After extensive testing, vet visits, and over $1,000 in expenses for medications and care, I'm happy to say that after months of endless diarrhea they are mostly healthy now. However, one of the kittens appears to be inbred (vet verified), with high anxiety, claustrophobia, texture and sound issues, "special needs kitty" and a fear of certain sounds like cowboy boots--perhaps indicating they were mistreated or exposed to harsh conditions in the breeder's environment. He also exhibits sudden aggressive behaviors, such as biting the other cats' necks. I wasn't looking for show-quality cats, but I did want their pedigree papers given the price I paid. (I am pretty certain that if I were to contact TICA - they will have no record of these kittens.) It took Dawn some time to get those together, and even then, the names didn't match what I was initially told. When I looked into the parentage, it became clear that Dawn wasn't fully aware of who's who. She mentioned working with many breeders to produce her litters, which left me questioning the transparency and reliability of the information provided. Overall, this experience was not what I expected, and I would recommend potential buyers proceed with caution.
