Coach Berry is one-of-a-kind. Thanks to my girlfriend who recommended him, I'm now in the best shape of my life and on my way to hitting my fitness goals. I have been coming here weeks and signed up for 6 months. (Will likely extend). I was able to get some beginning stages done at a place called Everybody's Fit in Oceanside as well for 8 months. It was nothing compared to Dare to Be Fit. I am so grateful to be here, my body is working in ways I haven't seen in years and I was at a complete plateau at my last gym. I needed a place like Dare to Be Fit to get me where I want to be, no jokes, no weak work outs. All work and no Zumba. Not that Zumba is bad, just comparing the intensities. EVERYONE should come and Dare to Be Fit!! When everyone says that Coach Berry makes sure your form is correct, he does exactly that. He's always monitoring everyone and providing protein shakes if we need them as well as massages on sore areas. I have yet to cash in on this but I will! Coach Berry is an inspirational, charismatic, positive force in the fitness world! My wife found him on Yelp seven months ago and then our whole family joined. We have never worked out so consistently and we can see the results, both on the outside and inside. Coach Berry's gym is truly unique -- it's both a gym and personal training wrapped into one. You get personalized training the first few weeks and as you learn the routine (and proper form!), you can then focus on working out without interruptions (with fine tuning with continued training as needed). And it's rare to wait for a machine. The workouts involve a 5 day routine with supersets -- so you are always moving and not wasting time waiting for machines or a lot of chit chat (but the coach is fun to talk with and always raises our spirits!). He is a nice guy, his workouts are reasonable and customized to your abilities and comfort, and so you won't get injured. My whole family works out there including my kid and there are several other families including some elderly people with health problems. He also trains men and women who have competed in body building contests. I can't recommend him and his gym enough!!!! PS. His two assistants Brian and Devin are also awesome! read more

Coach Berry has helped me changed my life. From my very first day at Dare to Be Fit, he was able to see beyond my obese body and focus instead on what he knew I could achieve with his guidance and training. Since then, I have lost over 100 pounds and become so much stronger. I had the pleasured of being trained by Coach Berry. I kept seeing him at promotional events and he just gave off such positive energy and was a joy to interact with. I check out his gym and was impressed with the personal training method he used. I had a background in exercise as a coach and teacher so seeing his system in place and having personal testimonies as well as transformed bodies spoke louder than words. I knew what to do but just could get a break through to health issues and over stressed mode. He nurtures his clients and they become family. My sister said, "I wish I had a place like coach to go to in my area of Monterey park, CA". Coach Berry is one of a kind. He is caring and truly wants all of us to STAY & BE healthy. His gym is like having a personal trainer by your side every step of the way for hours and hours at a time. Coach's assistants Bryan and Devin are also trained to make sure we are using the equipment correctly and our form are also correct so we don't injure ourselves.
