Not only did the staff at the store help me find a beautiful dress, but the dress was also on sale! Ports & Company is also a supporter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter. They provide the clothing to the models in the "Fashion Plates" fashion show and fundraiser. This store in the heart of pretty Cohasset Village touts itself as a lighting store. And indeed if you're in need of anything having to do with lamps, sconces, chandeliers and the like you've truly come to the right place. The choices are seemingly endless no matter what area of your home you might be interested in illuminating inside or out. The staff is incredibly helpful no matter how big or small your needs might be. Beyond lighting however I've found myself here on more than one occasion. This can be a great place to find a special gift as I did not too long ago. Friends who are getting married next weekend like Mariposa metalware and so it was here I found what I think will be a nice gift. They also sell some things made by local artisans which is another nice touch with a nod to the community. Flemings does repair work on metal including sterling silver. While we haven't tried that service, we know someone who has. These days I don't know who else is doing this kind of much appreciated craftsmanship. I plan to bring a pair of sterling candlesticks that belonged to my parents which sadly have gotten dented. They will restore, replate and make any silver you have look like new and they guarantee their replating work for 25 years. Hello! Flemings is a unique store that's been around town since 1931 offering a variety of home products and services with the kind of attention from staff that otherwise feels like a lost art in America. Nothing here comes inexpensively however. The lampshade was pricey, I'll admit. But for the type of great, local, individualized service I think it's worth it.

I brought 2 unmatched lamp shades in to find 2 in the proper sizes that matched. Donna "assisted" me with the in-store inventory. While she went this way & that, mumbling and looking generally confused, she kicked my shade which she had set on the floor. Her shoe left a dent in the inner lining, to which Frank said to Donna "don't worry, she's getting new ones". Hey Frank, I'll decide if I'd like to use that shade in a different place in my home. But now it's broken... thanks. That was over 2 months ago and I'm STILL waiting for the lamps shades which are paid in full. I've called multiple times, only to be told "I'll get back to you". Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

King Jewelers The Good, The Bad, & the Ugly…read more The Good Stopped by King for first time because it was locally owned women's business. I asked them to do a Pearl pin repair, they did a great job 5 out of 5 stars. While there I inquired about a first time lab diamond band , ( perfer natural, but it was kinda impulse buy) and paid $3500.00 . I was, my wife was- a bit shy on "lab"grown, but the salesperson said, yes but they are diamonds". Anyway I did it. The Bad Well that "lab" designation finally got to us on the drive home. After talking about it, I thought it best to trade up to a 10,000 ring mine back plus say $7000 - even if after just 10 days we expected to lose 1500.00 bucks. I was told no by them on taking it back. No to buying it back for $1000. less either. It's is important for future vistors, ask for papers on the rating of the diamonds, none was provided to us, ( lab diamonds also have one) that really seemed wrong. Additionally on the invoice it said no returns on lab diamonds. That would also have been nice to know prior to the purchase, not on a receipt post sale discovery. Ulgy There was push back asking for the lab rating. They needed to see it and per the owner weigh them. I said, so you bought these without that information? She said she knew but I got nothing. I took them the a certified gemologist for appraisal. I'll post results when I get that here next week. I was told as soon as I left the store with the ring , that it was used thereafter. Look, we are reasonable, I'm now spending 10k ( with others) but the fact they saw no value, even at 1000.00 off what is paid 10 days prior, is ugly. The fact there is no lab diamonds can't be returned sign, or conversation is ugly. The fact I wanted to do business with a locally owned woman's business, but was met with no compromise is ugly. Happy to be going elsewhere. Buyer beware ... I accept the loss, but can't get passed how it all went down. My goodness, even the on line give grade of stone ... Zero from you. I offered to buy a 10,000 ring. AND as noted take a 1000-1500 loss on a ring 10 days unworn ( except out of store) . I have the emails on all of this - but forget about it, you twisted the facts in your order. Yes we did go get an independent appraisal by the same person you use . This after you FAILED to be able to tell me anything about the quality of the ring you purchased for resale. You said to me, bring it in, we can examine it and weigh it... How do you buy goods for resale without that. Maybe if I had it at point of purchase I would not have done it. I'm sure you knew the grade at time you bought it... Why not share it. Finally there was no mention about no returns on lab diamonds , no sign in store, no sales information to buyer, yes, thanks for the information on the receipt after the sale. Bottom line, I don't carry if you have been in business 200years, the satisfaction given us was zero... And I clearly offered to take a loss on return . I hope others read the string and see something of a new set of questions one shouldn't have to ask in a trusted relationship. I take full responsibility for selecting the ring, I just will go elsewhere for better information and rules at POS. End of review and rebuttal.
