King Jewelers The Good, The Bad, & the Ugly The Good Stopped by King for first time because it was locally owned women's business. I asked them to do a Pearl pin repair, they did a great job 5 out of 5 stars. While there I inquired about a first time lab diamond band , ( perfer natural, but it was kinda impulse buy) and paid $3500.00 . I was, my wife was- a bit shy on "lab"grown, but the salesperson said, yes but they are diamonds". Anyway I did it. The Bad Well that "lab" designation finally got to us on the drive home. After talking about it, I thought it best to trade up to a 10,000 ring mine back plus say $7000 - even if after just 10 days we expected to lose 1500.00 bucks. I was told no by them on taking it back. No to buying it back for $1000. less either. It's is important for future vistors, ask for papers on the rating of the diamonds, none was provided to us, ( lab diamonds also have one) that really seemed wrong. Additionally on the invoice it said no returns on lab diamonds. That would also have been nice to know prior to the purchase, not on a receipt post sale discovery. Ulgy There was push back asking for the lab rating. They needed to see it and per the owner weigh them. I said, so you bought these without that information? She said she knew but I got nothing. I took them the a certified gemologist for appraisal. I'll post results when I get that here next week. I was told as soon as I left the store with the ring , that it was used thereafter. Look, we are reasonable, I'm now spending 10k ( with others) but the fact they saw no value, even at 1000.00 off what is paid 10 days prior, is ugly. The fact there is no lab diamonds can't be returned sign, or conversation is ugly. The fact I wanted to do business with a locally owned woman's business, but was met with no compromise is ugly. Happy to be going elsewhere. Buyer beware ... I accept the loss, but can't get passed how it all went down. My goodness, even the on line give grade of stone ... Zero from you. I offered to buy a 10,000 ring. AND as noted take a 1000-1500 loss on a ring 10 days unworn ( except out of store) . I have the emails on all of this - but forget about it, you twisted the facts in your order. Yes we did go get an independent appraisal by the same person you use . This after you FAILED to be able to tell me anything about the quality of the ring you purchased for resale. You said to me, bring it in, we can examine it and weigh it... How do you buy goods for resale without that. Maybe if I had it at point of purchase I would not have done it. I'm sure you knew the grade at time you bought it... Why not share it. Finally there was no mention about no returns on lab diamonds , no sign in store, no sales information to buyer, yes, thanks for the information on the receipt after the sale. Bottom line, I don't carry if you have been in business 200years, the satisfaction given us was zero... And I clearly offered to take a loss on return . I hope others read the string and see something of a new set of questions one shouldn't have to ask in a trusted relationship. I take full responsibility for selecting the ring, I just will go elsewhere for better information and rules at POS. End of review and rebuttal. read more

Such an amazing team at King Jewelers. I unfortunately lost my engagement ring and had to go through insurance for the replacement. The help they all gave me with navigating my claim to getting my ring on my finger was second to none! They did not have to guide me on the insurance stuff at all but they walked me through the process and was more helpful than my claim agent! The options that I was presented for a new ring were amazing and they worked with me to get me EXACTLY what I wanted and even upgraded my stone while at it. Nicole was my main contact but everyone helped out. I never felt like I was waiting on anything the process was so smooth and the quality of my ring is amazing. I brought a watch in that I've owned for 14 years for a battery replacement. This is a dive watch, rated for 200m depth. I've had the same jeweler in the city replace the battery many times over the years and continued my normal use. I no longer work in the city, so I brought it here to support a local jeweler and had the battery replaced and went in the pool one time and the watch broke, as the seal was improperly repaired. Upon bringing it back to King, they told me it's not their responsibility anymore once a battery is replaced. The other jeweler did this properly for over a decade, yet my first experience with King is a broken watch I got for my wedding and them telling me I'm out of luck and to go pay the other jeweler to completely repair it. Be sure to do your diligence before using this jeweler, as they had not one ounce of compassion and no intention of helping me with the problem they created. read more

I brought in some pieces to sell that I no longer need and was offered $123 for 4 rings and a necklace. two of which are Tiffany. went to Cohasset Jewlers and they offered me $900 for the lot. pays to shop around and realize that some jewelry stores don't want to purchase gold or older pieces. perhaps King should be upfront and tell you that they do not wish to buy.wasted a week of my time. read more

King Jewelers is located on Chief Justice Cushing Highway in Cohasset, Massachusetts and after my recent experiences with them, I am confident that they are the best jewelers on the South Shore of Boston. In terms of the coronavirus, their attention to safety during the pandemic has been above and beyond what many South Shore businesses enact and shows incredible care for their customers. After you ring the outside buzzer and it is confirmed you are wearing a mask, you can come in. Immediately upon entering there is a motion activated hand sanitizer dispenser. All employees wear masks and only two people are allowed inside at one time. The King Jewelers family, Valerie, Victoria, June and Melissa, went about the appraisal process with respect, patience and transparency. I went to King Jewelers to have my mother's estate jewelry appraised. The knowledgeable and professional staff at King Jewelers made the process an absolute pleasure. I went in so often, I started to like just dropping by for a visit. They have set appraisal dates with Lori Coogan, their Certified Appraiser but were always kind enough to appraise my estate jewelry as I sorted through the gold, silver, platinum, diamond, sapphires, rubies, aquamarines, pearls and costume jewelry. The entire process was complimentary, efficient and fair. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend King Jewelers as the most trustworthy jewelry business around. Don't waste your time, go to Longs Jewelers instead, where they love what they do and it shows! Normally like to support local businesses, but will not go back to Kings. Asked for advice for getting some charms for an infant that accompanied me to make the purchase, and the OWNER acted like I was bothering her. Which is funny because we were later told how much time she spent "helping". She threw down a few books and suggested a charm which she said were the most popular. Going off the owner's recommendation (bc she is the "expert" and obviously more knowledgeable than Amazon) I went with what she said. This charm had to be ordered, which at the time I was not informed had a restocking fee associated if it didn't work. When they arrived, they were way too big. Upon seeing the giant charms, we asked to return them and were told they were "special order" and could not be returned. Because adult sized charms are pointless for an infant, we convinced them to look into a return and it took two weeks to find out they would charge a restocking fee and only give a store credit for the balance of the difference. Understand on the restocking fee, but now you're holding us hostage to use your store credit when you couldn't even be bothered to truly help in the first place. Talked to the other owner about this who said "we are experts" yet they failed to have any knowledge of their custom products or the faintest hint of customer service acumen. read more
