I have not tried their coffee before, but seeing the reviews, I think it's worth a try. Relatively new at hand drip and Aeropress, so I asked the staff for recommendations for beans based on my liking and brew. She was very friendly at narrowing down to two bean types for me. She mentioned that most of the beans here are balanced, and the origin of the beans can be single or multiple, depending on the roast. The flavour profiles, strength and origin are all printed on the packaging along with the roasting date. Along with fresh beans, this location also sells a variety of loose leaf tea and also a large selection of coffee equipment and accessories. Having been searching for a milk frothing container, I have stumbled onto the right place. Brewed the coffee right away at home and the flavour was bright, smooth and fragrant. I'll definitely come back for sure to pick up more supplies! Note: Although there are equipment and a bar visible, the location doesn't serve any beverages. I think it'll be a great idea for customers to sample their beans before buying, so I hope that will come in the future!

I'm glad to finally find a place that sells coffee that is not fruit forward! I will be ordering some beans online soon. The staff was helpful and took time to explain the different types of coffee. Their signature roast (which they use for their drinks) is balanced and smooth, but they also have a number of other beans for purchase. I wish that there was the option to select the beans for to-go drink orders. They also make syrups in-house for their seasonal specialty menu, so I had to give their blueberry pancake syrup a try with my iced matcha. Unlike many store bought syrups, it wasn't a weird artificial, overly sweet flavour.

There was one table with four chairs but it was used to place inventory. We took our drinks to go. We ordered the Velvet Latte with Oat Milk and Pumpkin spice latte. The Velvet latte tasted very similar to a Spanish latte. The pumpkin spice was pretty good except I found the syrup to be a bit too strong for my taste buds. It's a good spot to try if you're in the area and want to try something different.

The muffin was very fresh, having just come out of the oven. Hale Coffee is a cashless establishment. If we are in the area we would stop in again.

The other barrista, an orientalist male, had the worst, rudest, and condescending attitude ever. This is the second time, and honestly it's cringeworthy. My daughter in law asked him if she could add the steamed milk to the Misto, (as we like just a shadow), and his unbelievably rude comment was "no! I dont know where your hands have been". And my daughter in law is polite, and said nothing. My question is we don't know where his hands have been, however we know his verbal language and customer skills come from the sewage pipes. He makes the Hale coffee experience hateful. if he is around, don't buy, there is coffee upstairs at Farm Boy, and two minutes down the street the Padaria. Zero stars for him.

Java Works is a little more corporate and they do not sell beans in bulk. What happens here? Roasting, e-commerce, & there is an on-site retail store, but that is not heavily marketed, according to one of the owners, Frank. The bags of whole beans is less expensive than what's on their website. Frank was kind enough to make me a latté from their Bravado line of espresso beans. It was very good, smooth, and did not need sugar. I didn't feel as free to sample because they didn't have an automated machine like Muldoon's. The two friendly ladies who worked at the front were also behind desks, so they don't have a dedicated sales person who is catering to walk-in traffic. However, I don't think it would be an issue if you wanted to taste a coffee before you purchased it! Despite its corporate appearance, it still did have a family-run feel to it. Heck, the founder, Spiros (in his 70s/80s even) still works there to this day!!!

It's the kind of coffee you find yourself drinking the whole pot without even realizing it. The space inside is also a big plus. The front area displays various coffee beans and related products, and a whole wall of transparent glass allows you to see the roasting factory in operation behind it. You can tell them your preferred roast and they'll pick the beans based on your preference. They have a wide selection of beans and prices vary based on brand, but they're pretty much between $19-27. I'd definitely pick up some more beans next time I'm in the area! This time I got 42 because I told them I make espresso drinks (eg latte) at home, so they picked something for me. My drink took about 7 minutes and it was full of flavour. It came with some biscoff, so it was a perfect match. They used the Chemex and did a double pour lol The staff told me they recently took over the soup business from a fellow vendor (within the market), so they've been getting busy trying to manage all the orders and customers. There's also these homemade jellys which are good for souvenirs/gifts!
