    Picked cucumbers and radish
    Karen T.

Came here for dinner with some friends and while there was initially a ~20 wait for 4 people on a Sunday night, we thought it was well worth the wait! Lots of variety and tasty options - we started with picked radish and cucumbers (definitely think you can skip the radish) but the dumplings were obviously the star of the show. For boiled dumpling and if I were to rank them starting with the ones I liked best, we got the pork & cabbage, beef & celery and chicken & corn. Really liked the dipping sauce that came with it, everything held well together. Soup dumplings, we got the steamed pork with curry sauce and beef soup. The curry one had a lot of flavour - was a bit overpowering to my taste but the black vinegar sauce you can add help cut it well. The mini pan fried soup dumplings were good, nothing crazy special about the taste but I think the primary appeal is that they're cute to look at (lol) We also had pan fried pork & spicy sauce dumplings that had quite a kick along with the Sichuan noodles. Those noodles actually had a great bouncy texture - it was more numbing than spicy. For someone like myself who can't handle spice very well, I actually really enjoyed this! Overall, a clean and fun spot, service was quite quick once you sat down, and the prices were very reasonable. We had a great time!

Popped in for lunch today cause I was really feeling for some soup dumplings and this place did not disappoint. Let me say that they only accept Canadian debit or credit cards and cash. So this immediately limited how much I could eat, but that was also OK. The service is impeccable and quick. The ambience is OK. It's a vibe, but it really is a nice place to eat. The folks are really good at their job and the food is delicious. Let me also say the price is very very good here. I'll definitely be back next time. I'm in Toronto.

I couldn't get into the restaurant I wanted to try out, but this was close by, and I'd looked at their windows display before, so why not? It's up some stairs, so if you're looking for a fully accessible space, this isn't it. It is bright and clean and modern, lots of windows, but efficiency was the vibe rather than homey. I got the pickled cucumbers, beef soup dumplings, and the spicy beef soup. Service was great, my tea was constantly refilled, and as they watched me eat, they brought over more napkins. Very cheerful staff. The pickled cucumbers were delicious. Sweet, a hint of sesame oil, and a lot of fresh choped garlic. If you go here on a date and you order this, make sure you both eat some. The soup dumplings were on the small side, but that was fine with me. Six of them were a good portion. The soup was tasty, the beef meatball was tender, and I only spilled soup on myself once due to a tragic vinegar and chili oil dipping accident. (They have soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil at the table, and they give you a dipping plate without asking.) The beef noodle soup was nice. Spicy, but the numbing of my lips and tongue meant Szechuan peppers were part of the mix. Noodles were cooked perfectly, and the beef wasn't melt in your mouth tender, but also wasn't overly chewy. Price was reasonable for what I had. I would return if I was in the area and looking for a quick dumpling fix. And those pickled cucumbers....yum.

Spicy Braised Beef Soup, Sour & Spicy Pork Wonton, Pork & Spicy Sauce Dumplings

I was in the area for a work meeting and, after reading the reviews, decided to give this spot a try. I definitely ordered more than one person needs, but everything was delicious. The dumplings were the standout. I ordered them steamed, and they were cooked perfectly--tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice without overwhelming the palate. The sour & spicy pork wontons were another hit; my only regret is not having enough room to finish them. The spicy braised beef bowl was also very good, though it didn't quite reach the same level as the dumplings and wontons. I can't speak much to the dine-in service since I ordered take-away, but my food was ready right on time and still piping hot. They packaged everything thoughtfully, keeping the broth separate from the noodles and wontons, and even added a layer of plastic wrap to prevent leaks. Clean, organized, and very appreciated.

probably one of my favorite places for dumplings. everything on the menu is under $13, which is great, and it makes it easy to order a bunch of dishes to share. we came with a group of 5 and tried a good mix of things. - steamed pork soup dumplings - very juicy - pan-fried mini soup dumplings - super crispy on the outside and honestly really cute - braised beef noodle soup - the soup was very flavorful and the beef was tender - boiled pork and cabbage dumplings - pretty standard, can't really go wrong with these - deep-fried tofu - this was great, the sauce was sweet and spicy and the tofu soaked it all up - beef brisket with daikon soup casserole - very light but super refreshing i also noticed they have chocolate soup dumplings which reminded me of the chocolate xlb from din tai fung, so that's definitely something i want to try next time. the ambiance was nice and casual. it's a pretty small place, so there was a bit of a wait on a tuesday night, but it wasn't too bad. service was smooth and everything came out at a good pace. i would definitely come back.

Fairly well priced and delicious dumplings. We got the soup dumplings and the pan fried mini soup dumplings. The food came out quick and hot. They have a good selection of dumplings for a reasonable price along with some other dishes including noodles and appetizers. The service was friendly and prompt, we got seat almost immediately, since it wasn't too busy in the evening. They have 3 different locations but this location in particular is located up a set of stairs, so not the most accessible. Do not that they are cash and debit only. Definitely a good place for a late night snack. The vibes are chill and place has a decent amount of seating.

Bao House delivers precisely what discerning dumpling enthusiasts seek: expertly crafted xiao long bao at remarkably accessible prices. The soup dumplings arrive with properly thin skins encasing well-seasoned pork and ample, flavourful broth. The pan-fried variation adds textural interest with a satisfyingly crisp bottom. The downtown location's elevated view of the Eaton Centre area adds unexpected visual interest to the casual proceedings. Note the cash/debit-only policy and automated waitlist system--efficient touches befitting high-volume operations. For Shanghai-style dumplings in Toronto's core, few establishments offer this combination of quality and value.

Nice hot soup. Dumplings served deliciously hot too and juicy too ! The wait wasn't bad.

Newest dumplings restaurant at the corner of Dundas and Chestnut. It used to be Zen Q, but I'm not sure if it's under the same owner. I placed an order in store for the pan fried mini dumplings and fried bean paste with pork noodles. A lot of people were also getting takeout so it took about 10-15 mins. I would suggest calling in to order before heading to the restaurant because the waiting area is small. The dumplings were so cute and juicy. There were 16 in total. The noodles were a lot more than expected but it was a bit salty. Service was great and the restaurant looked clean. I would definitely come back for dine in. They take credit or cash.

    Sour Spicy Pork Wonton (super-delish)

We stopped in here after a movie on a surprisingly cold April night and we were happy we did. We were immediately given some hot tea, which we needed. The service was very friendly and they walked us through the menu, and made some general suggestions. The menu isn't long or complicated but it was nice to have the attention. The Sour & Spicy Pork Wontons came right away and they were the stand out item. I can't get enough of the delicious vinegar chill sauce (and there was lots of it) The wonton noodles were slippery with sauce and the centers were meaty. I don't know if you're supposed to drink the excess sauce but I did. It's probably a weeks worth of salt but I didn't care. Then the mini-soup dumplings came, which are a customer favorite. We liked them, the first few bites were very good. I get why people love them but honestly I'd prefer a regular sized soup dumpling. Then the Braised Beef Soup Noodles came, and it was pretty darn good. The noodles were just right and the spice was great (we ordered it spicy!). Some of the beef wasn't as soft as it could be, but the taste was spot on. I would definitely go back and have the Sour & Spicy Pork Wontons again - and try some other things on the menu. The prices are reasonable, plus the location has lots of big windows and has a good vibe.

Sorry, this did not hit the mark for me. Perhaps the meat options are a bit better. My review is only on vegetarian items. I found the flavours overly simple, portions to be small, and ultimately left unsatisfied. Both the soup and bao was overpowered with pepper and had very similar taste. There also wasn't much filling in both the bao and the dumplings. I've never had a bao this flat before and looks like it didn't rise as it should - I've had better Baos at tnt supermarket unfortunately. Really wanted to like this place but I will not be returning.

The vegan soup casserole was underwhelming and overpriced. That makes the chive dumplings their only main veg option- while they were AMAZING, I have to give it a 4 because the casserole was definitely not great. Service was quick and lots of seating inside!

This is a new Chinese restaurant location, which soft-opened on 2024-11-29. Their first location is in North York which started in 1989. They make Chinese pastries, dim sum, dumplings, and noodles. They are supposed to be famous for their Finger San Jian, which is a finger-size version of a XLB. The restaurant is on the second floor of a Toronto downtown building. It is bright inside, modern, and plenty of indoor seating. We ordered the following: 102: Steamed Fresh Pork Bun (3 for $5.99). 110: Pan Fried Mini Soup Dumplings (16 for $10.99). 205: Chicken Noodle Soup ($10.99). 301: Crispy Pork & Meatball Soup Casserole ($10.99). 102: The buns were tasty. 110 is like mini XLB (Xiao Long Bao), also known as Chinese Soup dumplings. By the way, XLB literally translates as Little Dragon Buns. These were quite good. 205: This soup was just average. 301: This casserole had so many different ingredients. I was quite happy with the variety. They only accept debit and cash, no credit cards. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible (it is on the second floor using stairs). Three is one gender-neutral washroom, which is not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2024-258

Sansotei Ramen Review…read more Order: Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Ambience: Sansotei at union station is more like a quick takeout /food court ramen spot than a sit-down restaurant. It's great if you're grabbing something fast, but the seating area wasn't the cleanest and I had to look around for a table that had been wiped down, which wasn't ideal if I am paying 21$ for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. Food: I tried the black tonkotsu ramen and it was definitely rich and filling. I liked that you can choose between thick or thin noodles, which is a nice touch. That said, the broth was a bit too rich and salty for my taste and could use something to balance it out, maybe an order or Diet Coke. The meat was good but not as tender as I would like. Sides and Pairing Tip: I'd recommend getting a side of gyoza or even a Diet Coke to help cut through how rich, heavy and salty the ramen feels. Value for Money: It's a good option for a quick meal, but it does feel a little expensive for the experience you're getting for that price. Overall: Great for a fast ramen fix when you're on the go, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a more comfortable dine-in experience, or more value for money. 3/5

The weather in Toronto this week has been in the 20's and 30's! The restaurant does serve the dodgers when they are in town! If it's good enough for them... I ordered a Canadian whiskey to start off. It was very nice and smooth. I think it was a Sleeman and sons? Not positive but I really liked it! Then the food. I ordered the first roll from every section. There were some repeats which he advised me would happen but I didn't mind! The sushi was so tender and had great flavor. My husband ordered the ribeye steak and that was really really good. I would order that definitely next time and come here again!

I don't usually go for high-end sushi restaurants, but Miku has been on my list for a while, so I was genuinely excited to finally check it out. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an office building, but the moment you step inside the restaurant, everything changes. You go from bright, corporate lighting to a moody, romantic space with soft, dim lighting and a refined, intimate ambiance... it truly feels like entering a different world. Bonus points for the complimentary coat check, which is a huge win during winter when everyone is lugging around massive puffer jackets. We were seated in plush, velvety sofa booths near the bar, with a view of the street, which felt both cozy and upscale. Shoutout to our server, Shintaro, who was phenomenal with his warm, attentive, and energetic service, which made the whole experience even better. We started with drinks: my coworkers ordered sake flights, while I went with their signature cocktail, the kumquat cosmo. It was sweet and citrusy, and exactly what I needed on a Tuesday night after work. For appetizers, we all chose the sushi and sashimi selection, which included 9 pieces of chef-selected sashimi, chef-selected nigiri, and aburi oshi sushi. This was chef's kiss. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the sushi and nigiri were perfectly seasoned and sauced, so that we didn't even need soy sauce (though they do have a lovely house-made sweet soy sauce). I ordered the Red Wave Roll just to use their house-made sweet soy sauce... and wow. I've never had sushi that didn't fall apart after biting into it For my main, I went with the roast black cod. It was cooked beautifully, with a tender, slightly chewy texture that was rich but not overwhelming. For dessert, I went with their famously loved green tea opera. It's a small green tea sponge cake layered with matcha buttercream, red bean cream, and a hazelnut wafer crust, paired with a rich, velvety matcha ice cream on the side. Balanced, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Miku lived up to (and honestly exceeded) the hype. Incredible food, top-notch service, and a beautiful atmosphere.
