That being said, I did not feel like I even wanted to be in my new classroom, so I decided to paint it to freshen it up a bit. Wow! That was a mistake. There was no way I was going to have it ready for the first day of school or even done in a way that I would love. I called Brackens Painting and Kevin met me, provided me a very reasonable quote (as I was paying for the painting out of my own pocket), and was able to find one of his crew members that could have it done immediately (a lucky thing as they are usually booked out three weeks at least - thank you Mother Nature for the thunderstorms that opened DJ's schedule). DJ did an amazing job, was great to talk to, and played some amazing music while he worked. :) He took great pride in his work and customer satisfaction was key. He did not leave until I was satisfied. I can't wait to decorate for the new school year and spend the next portion of my career in this room. As you can see from the before and after pictures, the room is fresh and bright. The shadows and lighting with the original paint just made the room dark. Brackens Painting is now my go to painting company and I would highly recommend them. Not only are they an amazing company, but they are active members of our own little community. We have several doors that will now not shut, peeling paint (never sanded or primed!) drips in the paint, chunks of debris in the paint and cupboard doors actually falling off. Not to mention painting over the adhesive left when he removed a dry erase board , and the mess that he made on my existing molding. No answered/returned messages after multiple attempts to contact him.

Avoid Emerson Paints--Unreliable & Dishonest…read more I fell for their Instagram ad, and from there it was all downhill: aggressive calls, missed communication, bait-and-switch subcontracting, and a rep who literally walked into my house without knocking. The crew that actually did the painting? Wonderful. But they weren't Emerson--they were a subcontractor I was never even told about. Emerson overcharged, underdelivered, and ghosted me the second payment was secured. They'll make promises. They'll make excuses. They don't care about you. They care about your money. Do yourself a favor: skip the stress and go elsewhere.

He quoted me over $10k for $800 plumbing work and over 11k for 4k electric panel work just to name a few. Edvin charge 6% tax on materials and 6% tax on labor for each quote separately. I had to terminate him because of poor quality service and not willing to do what the customer wants. He just wasn't to do what is easy for him. He tried to cut corners as much as possible. All consumers out there be aware of this company.

I brought several contractors in to asses the work I needed done and these guys felt right. They were considerate, hard working, showed up when they said they would and did an amazing job! We couldn't be happier. They did the work almost a year and a half ago and they job they did still holds up well. They painted, removed wallpaper, installed a half wall, removed a built in bookshelf, helped to make two bathrooms presentable by replacing toilets, sinks, fixtures, and just made the house nice again. Worth every penny. When I need more work done, I will be giving them a call.
