We truly thought that the whole room needed to be gutted and wall boards replaced. A costly project we couldn't imagine, much less the time involved. Enter Brackens Painting. Kevin assured me that a good pain job would correct the problems, no demolition needed. Scraping, mudding (wall plaster), cleaning and paint. The cost estimate was on point. John completed the job in hours, and even installed a new fan for us that will prevent future problems. The whole room was ready for moring shower battles the next day, and looks better than when we first moved in. That being said, I did not feel like I even wanted to be in my new classroom, so I decided to paint it to freshen it up a bit. Wow! That was a mistake. There was no way I was going to have it ready for the first day of school or even done in a way that I would love. I called Brackens Painting and Kevin met me, provided me a very reasonable quote (as I was paying for the painting out of my own pocket), and was able to find one of his crew members that could have it done immediately (a lucky thing as they are usually booked out three weeks at least - thank you Mother Nature for the thunderstorms that opened DJ's schedule). DJ did an amazing job, was great to talk to, and played some amazing music while he worked. :) He took great pride in his work and customer satisfaction was key. He did not leave until I was satisfied. I can't wait to decorate for the new school year and spend the next portion of my career in this room. As you can see from the before and after pictures, the room is fresh and bright. The shadows and lighting with the original paint just made the room dark. I had two coats of paint put on one level of my home, and the crew was out of my home by three in the afternoon. it was a pure mess. The brothers got off easy with me. they are pure BS. Avoid Emerson Paints--Unreliable & Dishonest…read more I fell for their Instagram ad, and from there it was all downhill: aggressive calls, missed communication, bait-and-switch subcontracting, and a rep who literally walked into my house without knocking. The crew that actually did the painting? Wonderful. But they weren't Emerson--they were a subcontractor I was never even told about. Emerson overcharged, underdelivered, and ghosted me the second payment was secured. They'll make promises. They'll make excuses. They don't care about you. They care about your money. Do yourself a favor: skip the stress and go elsewhere.
