This is one of the shades companies I have ever dealt with. I ordered a bunch of stuff and used their sizing chart, did all the measurements and the clothes came in MASSIVE. I double checked my measurements and everything was correct. When I told them their sizing chart was wrong and even sent pictures of these massive clothes they gave me the runaround and tried to say they fit as intended.... ya no way. Then they said I could pay for shipping back, then return and rebuy the items in a different size, which wouldn't have my discount I got, and then pay for shipping again. Horrible company ran by sleazy people, go anywhere else. If you do get clothes from here get at least a size or two smaller that what their chart says. read more

The site has a great selection, and accurate descriptions of the functionality of their products, you just have to make sure to read the details. The customer service is some of the best I've ever received and I've always gotten honest and accurate estimates for shipping out of stock items, including very clear warnings when there would be an extensive wait. Shout out to Mary, who spent a great deal of time researching alternatives for any out of stock items I may have ordered and editing orders for me. As for the value of the items, they are very honest in their descriptions, some of these items are for display only, and some are functional and that is listed for each item. If you buy the cheapest items, they will be cheaply made, good armor is expensive for a reason and they have both here. The sizing can be tricky as some of the armor is supposed to be worn over other pieces of clothing but take the time to measure before you buy and you won't have a problem. This is an amazing entry level site into the world of LARP and cosplay, with some genuinely high quality items here and there. I had such a great experience with Dark Knight Armory's customer service! I ordered two knight figurines to be the cake toppers for our wedding cake as our last name is Knight. One of the figurines was on back order and I reached out via email to see when it would be shipping, hoping it would arrive on time. They responded quickly (and provided in-stock alternatives in case) but it went to my junk mail unbeknownst to me. I called and they were so understanding! I spoke to a representative named Mary and she looked it up and gave me an estimate of when they were going to receive it and when it may ship to me. She said they would keep me updated and they did! The figures arrived in plenty of time and well packaged. The figures are solid and I am impresses with their weight. I put a little veil on one and they was a hit at the wedding. I was shopping for pirate flintlock replicas as a Father's Day gift for my Dad. I found this company on Google and decided to go with them. I first reached out to them on Facebook Messenger, and they promptly followed up with help when a potential sale was involved. Kudos for that, but it ends there. The item arrived in two boxes, and as soon as I opened up the first package and pulled the second one out, the box inside was already opened and all the items were laying at the bottom unprotected. Thankfully, no damage was done. However, once I looked at the item the poor quality was apparent. The trigger guard was crooked and had a gap big enough to slide your pinky through. One part of the replica wasn't even stained so raw yellow particle board was visible. (I attached photos of the trigger guard and what the competitor's version looks like for comparison.) I reached back out to DKA on Messenger informed them about the problems I was seeing, and asked if the rest of their stock was like this so that I could possibly approach them about a replacement. They looked at the message and didn't care enough to reply, so 4 days later here's my review. I guess customer service only goes as far as the sale, but when you have a problem with your order, you're on your own. We get busy so I gave it a few days and the weekend, but it's apparent at this point no reply is coming. For the record: I gave this item to my dad early after the failed attempt to reach them, as I didn't feel an item that needed fixed out of the box made a good Father's Day present. He worked on the trigger guard and stained the missing part and it now looks how it should have arrived for the amount of money paid ($62.23 shipped). read more

It was Black Friday 2017, and I was looking to buy a set of chainmail to use for LARP. I found a set I liked on darkknightarmoury.com that was in stock so I purchased it and my credit card was charged. I got a call later in November saying that the item was now out of stock and would take several months to come. I said I would wait seeing as the LARP season wouldn't start until summer anyway. Come May 12th I sent an email asking where they were with shipping my chainmail. I was told it would take another 2 - 4 months. Okay I thought, kind of a bummer that I wouldn't have it for a good portion of the season but at least I would have it for the big meet at the end of the year. September 6th, the big game is coming up so I asked again when the chainmail was coming... I was told 2 - 4 months again. The saving grace was that the person I was communicating with brought up that there was a size Large available. I ordered a Medium but the Large size is pretty close so I asked them to mail it as soon as possible to have it for the big game. I got an email back Friday saying my card would be charged the difference between the Medium and the Large and it would ship Monday. Monday I get a call asking for my credit card information and as they were processing the order I'm told that actually the last Large was sold over the weekend to someone else. I canceled my order. I don't care if I have to pay more somewhere else. It will be worth it. I was lied to when I was told the chainmail was in stock, I was lied to when I was told it would be 2 - 4 months, and I was lied to when I was told my order would ship Monday. Placed an order for 3 items on 03-NOV-17 and still haven't received 2 of the three items. Making this a 14 month wait time at this point. I also asked for all items to be shipped as one parcel so as not to pay shipping and brokerage fees twice. Dark Knight Armoury agreed to hold the first item until all 3 arrived. They sent the first item by itself regardless of the previous agreement and now I am stuck paying additional fees. I cannot in good conscious recommend purchasing from this company. Made an order, selected two day shipping. Got order in just over two weeks. Cape looked like it had been drug on the ground with a big slash/rub across the fabric at the neck about 7" long. Contacted them, manager said return it. But, since it was past 15 days there would be a "re-stocking fee". (Wouldn't have been 15 days if your sub-mediocre employees had shipped properly. Such as the manager, so goes the employees, I guess.) Have since done research on Dark Knight, & Medieval Collectibles ((SAME COMPANY!)) found many bad reviews!! Products are misleading, ordered the Haddock Jackboots Item #: MY100256 after the failure of my Two Piece Buckled Boots Item #: FW2111(bought them for larp, the soles detached in a single day. attached with nothing but cheap glue.) Was assured that despite my contacting them to ensure I had bought a product with a good, non-slip sole that would survive the outdoors in the first place, my replacement jackboots would indeed be able to survive the harsh environments of "Walking through an occasionally damp field". They did not, they fell apart in two days, I contacted Dark Knight requesting a simple refund, and I would take the hit on shipping (which nearly doubled the price of the boots.) They refused to acknowledge the boots were falsely advertised and low quality. They actually blamed me for misusing the boots by walking in them, and said they weren't available for refund because they had been worn. This is the description of the boots: "A sturdy yet stylish shoe, the Haddock Jackboots are a fantastic addition to historical reenactment looks and suitable for wear during LARP events. Made of synthetic, weather-proof leather, these boots are ready for anything. Horrible Ordered three full outfits for my three boys for a fair. Picked only the "In Stock" items. Items did ship quickly however they neglected to tell me that only one of the outfits was complete and that two shirts (that were marked in stock) were missing and would not be available for five or six weeks. They did call me on delivery day to tell me that oh by the way you were shorted some items. I fail to understand why in this day and age that an automated email did not go out at the time of shipping informing me that some items were not shipped or why I was not informed that my order would not be complete.... as they put it when I complained "how are we to know you wanted it by a certain day?) Take your money elsewhere... Now if I want to return the items since I do not have a matching outfit for all three kids they are telling me that there is a 15% restocking fee. After many hours of searching and comparing selections from a number of websites i found that Dark Knight had the best selection as well as best prices and put in an order for about $500 worth of gear. The next morning i received a phone call from a customer service rep named Sierra who informed me a few of the items from a bundle i chose were unavailable. She then walked me through the website to view comparable replacement items, a process that took less than 10 minutes. Do not shop there. This place is terrible and customer service is really bad once they have your money. I purchase 2 children items online that showed in stock. I payed with paypal and was called the next day to advise the item was no longer in stock (although it was when I placed the order and payed). They offered another options, more expensive of course. I live in Canada and had to pay 26$ in shipping. No problem but when the package arrived at my place, I had to pay 85$ in fees and duties. What the hell, this is more in shipping and duties than the value of my items. When I called them up, it was my fault because I agreed to the terms in conditions and I should have known the fees. First of all - be aware; it is very easy to miss the fact that the item you order isn't in stock (because these guys are the middlemen and chances are that the item isn't even made yet ) and you're waiting a month or two. Hey - you were in no rush and they charge your credit care 'immediately'. When the item did come ( the so called Jonathan shirt) it was not only the wrong color - canvas sac color not white ) but was basically just very heavy sac cloth. The truly original hair shirt!! Very disappointed. I was excited with their selection and ordered some cool items for a steampunk wedding I was attending. The wig is set up strange with the back actually lower than the front. I called and was told this was not high quality but a costume wig. I let the rep know that I had many wigs from Spirit Halloween (for cheaper!) and it was much better quality. I ordered a small Scottish knife from them on 7/17/13 for $35. I called in Sep and was told it was on back order (supplier problem). Same answer in Oct. I called them in Dec and they offered to amend the order to a different knife with a price of $40, I paid the $5 difference. In Jan I called them, and they found the new knife in the inventory and would mail it. The knife finally showed up 1/8/14. They never once gave me any updates on the order unless I called them 1st. I have been a member of the Scottish Games community for 36yrs and have never had a vendor/seller so inept in filling an order.
