If you love the vibrancy and excitement of living life in the big city, surrounded by all those bright lights and tall skyscrapers, then this event-that's-not-an-event is for you. Dubbed 'Dark Nights' due to the lack of shows going on at the convention centers, the city of LA decided that they would milk what they could out of people who didn't want to battle the tumultuous traffic one would usually find during such events and have to deal with horrendous parking prices, but still want to enjoy the full experience of walking around the brightly lit, almost Times Square-like hub of DTLA and have a good time. It turns into a gathering of small, local vendors, artists, craftsmen/women, performers, bands, and a multitude of others plying their trades in the midst of the LA Live Central Plaza. There's live music blaring everywhere, graffiti artists creating gorgeous life-sized murals at every turn, performance artists of all types vying for the attention of the crowds that gather to watch impressive feats of talent and skill, and so much more. And if you love your LA eats and cocktails, but hate the small fortune you have to pay in order to enjoy them, you're in luck! Most of the fancy restaurants in the area such as Katsuya, Wolfgang Puck, Tom's Urban, Yard House, and a few others participate by dishing out specific menu items and specialty drinks at $5 a pop. Not a bad deal considering how much you're getting out of what you would usually pay. If you want some really great libations and cheap, yet high quality eats, take my advice and go to Tom's Urban. They have something called the Croatian Fig Jam Three Cheese Grilled Sandwich. It may be the best grilled cheese sandwich you've ever had. The waits can be long as they're always packed, but it's definitely worth it. Not a bad way to spend a Friday night. Bring some friends, and I guarantee you'll have a great time.

The energy in the stadium was unmatched being around The 3252 is something you have to experience at least once. From start to finish, they never sit down or stop chanting, and it completely changes the atmosphere. The crowd overall was really friendly, which made the whole experience even better. I sat in the BMO Football Club section, and the food options were impressive. There was a huge variety, and it felt like everything was included. The team itself showed a lot of talent on the field, which made the game exciting from beginning to end. Plus, the location is perfect--right in Downtown Los Angeles next to USC, so it adds to the whole vibe of the night. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to! Thinking of getting season ticket's!

Ever since LAFC signed Son Heung-min in 2025, I've been itching to see him live [had tried to see him when he played at Tottenham, but failed miserably]. So when saw that tickets in the center upper deck were hovering around $100 on Stubhub, jumped at the chance to go with my wife and my daughter's in-laws (who live closer by). The game ended up being very uncompetitive, but was looking for Sonny to break his goal-less streak to start the season. Alas, he did not, but he had four assists (career high for a game) and contributed to the first goal, a 'own goal' by Orlando City, where he was the last LAFC player to touch it. What a sight! It is located in Exposition Park, so can take either of the 'E' line Metro stops, servicing the area. It's a bit of a walk so need to give it time. We arrived exactly at the 18:30 start time, enough to see the National Anthem (singer was quite good). The match started a little after that, and with our section facing the west, the setting sun during the early part of the game was beautiful, especially against the backdrop of the west part of the stadium. I had gotten seats in Section 213, which is upper deck and row Q wasn't that far back for that section. (seating began at K, all the way to Z, and then AA - DD). The sightlines were great...as long as nobody was standing up in front of you, one could see all four corners of the playing surface. To the right of us, was the the LAFC supporters section, the '3252' (capacity). That area is standing room only, and was the source of constant (not periodic, but constant) chants throughout the game. It was addicting to listen to, and my wife found the webpage that had the words to the various chants, so we sometimes chanted along. The surface uses 95/5 Real grass/synthetic blend there was constant watering during halftime. Six goals were scored this day, so there was plenty of cheering, high-fives, and bouncing up and down throughout the match (mostly in the first half). The stadium was more than 1/2 - 2/3 full at the start of the match, but cleared out quite a lot early in the 2nd half once Son was subbed out. We stayed for the entire bit, since getting out by car wasn't an issue. It took a bit of time to walk back to the Expo/Vermont Metro station, but surprisingly, the East bound train wasn't full. Enjoyed it so much that got two more ticket 4-packs for later this year. Have used Stubhub for most of the ticket purchases in the past, but just used TickPick and the prices seem to more competitive. Anyway you purchase, the tickets end up on the ticketmaster app to display for entry.

Unsanitary! Wait til the end:…read moreThere's definitely nothing "Lexus" about this establishment. Came here yesterday, for the Lakers final game of the season, and was invited to the buffet. Even though it was free, it was awful. Beef short ribs were plain and not braised completely, chewy. The sauce was unexplainable. The Mac salad had ridiculously huge chunks of pineapple in it which did not make sense. The " chow mein" had flecks of spam and some disgusting vinegary sauce. Huli-Huli chicken was a definite insult to the traditional Hawaiian dish. Caesar salad was wet and runny. Furikake potatoes made no sense. The cod was awful, rubbery and not good. BUT the charcuterie: prosciutto, Mortadella(bologna), and salami was delicious/but all three were cut too thick. Bad for food cost . Eat the stadium food instead. Better. A lot better. When you arrive, the buffet has no tables. There is a plate they bring to you. And apparently they exchange as you go back. NOT: We, actually my friends and other patrons, were returning to the buffet with the same dirty plates multiple times. And anyone in food service knows this is against Ca. Food regulations! The staff should've grabbed or exchanged their plates, especially the person at the carving station.

Friday 04.10 2026 Lakers vs Suns Game…read more I had VIP ticket access to the Lexus Club. This club is private to general ticket goers. Was greeted and wrist stamped. Great atmosphere and ambiance. You have the options to go to two bars and their patio lounge area. Keep in mind that there is nothing free at this lounge. You must pay what you order. From Scanned Barcodes to buffets, payment is applied. The only advantages I see this lounge for is privacy to the restrooms and privacy to grear conversations that applies to business get togethers or dates. Nothing special to offer but relaxation and chill. Cool ambiance, reminds me of the roaring 40s theme. Old school but modern. Great view of LA Live from the outside seating area. Good to go if you are given the opportunity. Our waitress was alittle slow. She could of been more attentive to our needs. Overall cool place. Drink prices are the same inside or outside of the Lexus club. The only difference is this club has a $87 buffet per person. Literally expensive for the average minimum wage joe.

The Hollywood Bowl is back on my favorite list. A couple of years ago they reduced the number of…read moreR&B and Afrocentric Artist to almost 0. At that point I dropped my subscription and I said that I would never attend any Bowl produced events again. Well, let me tell you this year they've blown my socks off with not only R&B artist, but also African-American classical artist. So I'm back on the season ticket holder list. Now I like all kinds of music. So I will be seeing jazz artist as well as The Beach Boys as well as a classical music night event. My taste is very eclectic. But when any business caves to what they consider DEI initiatives, they won't get my dollars. So I'm glad the Bowl has reversed their decision and are selecting Artist from all cultures to perform this year. I went to the opening of Juneteenth and it was an amazing multicultural experience. People of all ages and all backgrounds were there. What I also loved is that the food that you can order if you have a box seat has definitely improved. It looked delicious. But for those sitting in regular stadium seats, there are plenty of different food venues to choose from. I love the experience, I love the energy of the crowd, and I just loved how many people celebrate the unique gifts that black Americans bring to this country. It was delightful.

06.06 2026 Saturday…read more I have been here many times before. This place is a hit and miss. This day was definitely a miss this time around! Attended the Mariachi USA show. The show itself did not dissapoint. Fantastic show! Entertainment and firework show was spectacular!! I would come back again just to watch this show, scheduled in 2027 What was really dissapointing is the Venue and the staff members we encountered. Started off at the drop off. We were waiting for a shuttle since we were attending to somone in a wheelchair. Waited 20 mins to miss the first shuttle bus opportunity since it was packed. Waited another 20 mins for the 2nd Shuttle bus which we were the first 10 people in line to walk up to the shuttle. Pushed our wheelchair inside while everyone else was getting on the shuttle. The shuttle driver stated we cant have another wheelchair on board due to space limitations occupancy. I pleaded my case that we were the very first ones to come inside the shuttle. The unprofessional shuttle driver kicked us out since the bus filled up. I blame the coordinator for this. She is not directing traffic control to enter the shuttle. Handicap people should go in first not the other way around. She clearly is incompetent on her job to escort and assist people in wheelchairs. I told her she does not know what she is doing and allowing other people without disabilities to enter the shuttle first. "Fail on her part." She had the audacity to tell us .. dont worry, your going to get there regardless. I replied and stated, that is not the point. The point is you are allowing people to cut to enter the shuttle before you accommodate handicap people. I already wasted close to an hour waiting on the 3rd shuttle to arrive. She is held accountable and liable for the well beings including handicap people first. She just rolled her eyes and started arguing with me. I feel she is incompetent and whomever put her in this position to traffic the shuttle lines is incompetent as well. Process is a Fail! 2nd.. they confiscated all my aluminum sodas in the front checkin door. They clearly stated they dont allow aluminum cans inside but are selling aluminum beers inside. Does not make sense. The staff themselves are very pushy. Before and after the show. Aggressive crowd control, especially when you have someone in a wheel chair. They should not be yelling at you to exit the premises especially when the person in a wheelchair is using the restroom. This experience is just that. Nothing else. I will re rank my experience here in the future, hoping for a better experience from this venue. Hire more courteous and professional people. Incompetency and rudeness runs in some staff member that are running this venue.
