GPS had me cutting through Skid Row, and when it said I was close to the venue I thought, "wait.....we really about to party here?!" Thankfully, California Plaza has its own parking structure and once you pull in, everything feels safe and organized. Parking was $10 cash or $17 card at my event. From there it was a breeze, just hop in the elevator straight up to the venue. The DJ stage was beautiful, sound and lighting were amazing, and there were plenty of spots to chill if you needed a break. Bathrooms were clean with plenty of stalls (longest line I waited in was maybe 2 minutes, which is nothing for a packed show). The VIP area looked pretty underwhelming. Personally, I wouldn't bother with VIP tickets here. Overall though, fantastic night, incredible music, and I'd definitely come back for another show!

Negatives were I wasn't a fan of the sound system here and the attendees were all local L.A or Westside people that were here to be seen. It wasn't an EDC vibe, but more of a networking event with DJ's in the background. The loud conversations everyone was having and the sound system being centered in one area just made it lackluster. I've been a Camel Phat fan since the beginning or at least 2018/2019 so to see all their sets go off on You Tube videos then come to this was a little disappointing. Not their fault, just the crowd drowned out the sound. Sometimes the L.A. crowd is such a bummer.

It's an old theater and as expected the seats are a little worn and not the most comfy but that doesn't stop you from enjoying the performances. A large, multi-level parking garage is available next door. Very convenient since we all know how hectic finding parking in LA can be.

Parking isn't extremely bad because you can park across the street at the random strip mall areas. Inside, they have a well-ventilated area that leads to the bar and into the stage. Their bar is pretty chill just like their bartenders. The red headed chick was really really nice and gave my wife a OLIVIA RITA cocktail that she didn't skimp on the alcoholic with too! Restrooms can be a toss up mainly because of the fans who mess it up for others. The stage area is really nice with 3 video walls around some quality speakers. It's very spacious along with its nice balcony area. They had enough space to fit a cool Photo Booth and another booth for the Olivia Rodrigo swag. I love all the creatures. My fave one was the one that took place in DTLA 3 years ago. That venue was spacious and beautiful. The only concern I have is the 2 hour time limit. There's a lot to see and do in 2 hours, plus, you gotta make sure you get all your mini cocktails included in your admission. All the rooms are spectacular and the shows are fascinating. It is always hard to solve the mystery since you have to talk to all the characters for various clues. This year, we decided just to enjoy everything.

The truffles had me at hello, so delicious! One of my favorite drink combos of the night: Clever Fox Rum, Pineapple, Banane Du Bresil, Coconut, Liquer & Lime! Yum! Bartenders were friendly & we tipped them at each station! Dress Code: Your choice of Halloween Costumes, Cocktail Attire or Period Piece Attire! I combined two & was a Princess; wearing an elegant gown I purchased for the event & a sparkly crown, which I already owned! My friends went all out, dressed as 2 of the characters from a popular movie! Fun! Vibe: The crowd was amazing, friendly & often complimented each others costumes, as well as took photos together! Fun! I even had a few people bow/curtsy because of my costume! So funny & friendly! Also, the venue was so spacious; there was a ton of space to move about throughout the venue! Lights, Camera, Action: What a show! Whether the actors were on stage performing, including singing(incredible voices!) or walking around in phenomenal costumes & staying in character, I was excited at every turn! I was in awe of the details & energy that went into the costumes & performances along the way, as we navigated numerous rooms on about 4 floors of the venue!(Wear comfy shoes; stairs!) Interactive: There is a storyline; characters walk around giving you clues & tell you stories! While watching an onstage performance, they called for volunteers & my friend was incorporated into the scene, which was awesome & she had fun! I will admit to screaming a few times when the characters would suddenly appear, while walking through the maze, but it was good fun! Hahaha! Fancy & Talented: Chandeliers were everywhere, which I love!! The rooms were moody & had a glow about them! There were mazes, stories that were told, numerous photo opps, spectacular theatrics & so much more! Pair that with the local vendors in addition to the food trucks and you've got yourself the penultimate Angeleno experience. Sure, they could have organized and coordinated a few things better but it's all good, I'm sure they'll know what to do next year. I'm looking at the glass half full here. I like the way they used the abandoned lot of warehouse space to its advantage. There is nothing quite like watching your favorite bands play against the backdrop of that historical LA bridge. It's the iconic backdrop of industrial Downtown LA, where there is an art community nestled under that bridge, where works of art are tagged and pinned just about everywhere you look. Jubilee could not have picked a better home. My favorite use of space is the long hall of clothing retailers. It's like walking into a seemingly endless urban bazaar where each local retailer is different from the next. All you need to do is pick one and rummage through their eclectic pile of offerings. I f*cking love it! Notable Vendors I Liked: -- United Couture: A group of stylish Japanese gals were babysitting this small corner of treasures. Their shirts are chic, edgy and so comfortable. Even better that they were offering 50% off most of their stuff. I made out like a bandit. -- Drifter Industries: The guys who made this year's signature Jubilee shirts. Gave away free shirts in exchange for you following them on Instagram. That's cool. -- DIYFO: I love these folks! Got my tailor-made Jubilee tank with all its fringe from the lovely Jane. What's better than a standard event tee? An event tee that's cut to your liking. You can do it yourself or have them do it for you. -- Bakeology: Was chatting with the daughter of this mother-daughter duo and she was such a sweetheart. Not to mention how amazing their line of gluten-free vegan cookies is! I'm spreading the word to everyone because I love their cookies this much. -- Everly: Beautiful summer blouses and dresses from their sample sale stash make it hard not to pick up every piece you see. Only downside is that sizes aren't marked so it might be a hit and miss for curvier body types. Don't get me started on the music. All I know is that Cherry Glazerr, The Dolls, Bleached, Fool's Gold, Calvin Love and The Drums are rounding out the rest of my 2013 playlist. Thanks for being good to me, Jubilee. We ran into some familiar friends and had a good time with the others in the crowd. Everyone was friendly, the music was dancy and had great energy from all the DJs. I enjoyed the open social space and the dance floor in the back for the groove.
