We have been twice and the food was first rate and service friendly and efficient. The range of dishes is extensive and we had excellent Butter Chicken, Mussaman beef, naan breads, raita and a number of other side dishes, prawns nariyal and pappadums. You won't get better Indian food in Brisbane and the restaurant patronage is growing as people discover its quality. Can't tell you why this review and rating is not recommended. Must be something to do with Yelp's automated software but the views above are genuine. Strange.

Not sure if the chef needs to reevaluate what a hollandaise should taste like but this is the second one I've had here that's tasted this way, a bit too vinegary and not creamy enough. Maybe I want too much though... However I did want to try to more than once before I wrote this review for that very reason. The coffee was very nice, smooth and creamy. Highly recommended. I will come here again but maybe I'll have to branch out and have something other than a Benedict.

I've noticed an increase in popularity (or a mainstream discovery, perhaps) of banh mi in Brisbane in the past couple of years. Previously banh mi cravings were sated by trips to Kim Thanh bakery at west end, or numerous spots in Inala and Sunnybank. But now Brisbane CBD has at least 2 spots to get a tasty (albeit CBD priced) banh mi for lunch. The Roll Shop (Vietnam On The Roll) is the latest banh mi venue, and slightly less pricey than the orginal provider of banh mi to the inner city population, Little Saigon. You've got a few options for banh mi fillings at The Roll Shop, and the menu board tells you the kilojoules of each of your options... this is both good, and bad... it helped me make a slightly healthier decision with my lunch choice, however it permanently scared me off the pork crackling banh mi that I probably would have chosen if I wasn't aware of how kilojoule heavy it was... So I chose the sweet glazed bbq pork option. The roll was light and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside but didn't seem super fresh. The filling had all my favourites - course textural pate, creamy mayo, pickled carrots, coriander, and firey birds eye chillies (optional) but the pork was a bit of a dissapointment. It was cold, rubbery, and all around bland and meh. Maybe it was my deep burning desire for pork crackling that made my choice so underwelming, but I really didn't enjoy the pork at all. I removed it from my roll and happily munched the rest but overall was disappointed by my lunch. If I visit again, I'll definitely consider the pork crackling version more seriously.... but will it be worth a 30 minute spin class at the gym? I'd probably cry if it wasn't! Other options at The Roll Shop, if you're not a banh mi fan, include rice noodle salads, and rice paper rolls. I've not yet tried either of these, but they seemed to be popular amongst the lunch crowd.

The Roll Shop offers fantastic and pretty cheap Vietnamese rolls (I'm a fan of the chicken). I can also recommend the cold rolls available, which are equally delish. There are a few seats available outside but it is a pretty small space and there are not a lot of seats. Overall I thoroughly recommend this place if you're looking for a great lunch, reasonably priced in the city (Located in the laneway between the HSBC and NAB buildings).

I'm sure some things have changed but it still sits right there in West End, although the round-about is now gone. I clearly remember one night, with my 2 girlfriends, in my one girlfriend's car -- her new car mind you -- and she didn't have her glasses on and she kept going around and around on the round about trying to figure out where to park and almost driving straight into the Three Monkeys. Who woulda thunk that West End was such a happening spot back then in the late 80s/early 90s? But it was and Three Monkeys is proof that when you have a great concept, it will go down in history!

Serving size vs price was what one would expect from a waterfront fine dining restaurant so I won't complain about that. (I know places like this usually have modest servings so I had a snack before going!) Slightly disappointed with the slow service. We were only one of two tables seated on a Wednesday night yet our entrees and deserts were very slow to arrive. Another reason I'm glad I had a snack first! If it was a busy weekend night this would have been understandable but tonight this place was empty. In the end, this place falls in the "take it or leave it" category.
