I have a few this to say about attorney Phil Daroca when I needed him over the years he was always there for me. Phil can't worker miracles so if you hire Phil expecting to win your cases when even the blind man on the moon can see your guilty go luck. I went in knowing I was guilty so that's why I hired Phil for him to work his magic. With a fake ass public defender telling me twelve years was the best he could due and I should be happy with 12 instead of 40 years. I told the pd "your fired ,your no longer hired." Let me tell you about Phil Sylvan Daroca, I would not recommend him to anyone, in fact, I strongly suggest to run the other way!!! Recently I hired Mr. Daroca to represent my Fiance, he was up against some really serious charges, I called Mr Daroca . we spoke briefly on the phone, he agreed to meet with me so that we could discuss my fiance charges, then he could give me a estimate of how much he was going to charge. I told Mr Daroca how much money that I could give him immediately, my fiance was in custody, his arraignment was two days away, I needed to move fast and secure a lawyer for my fiance. I was really upset and stressed over all that was happening, Mr Daroca said that he would not need any money until after his arraignment, he would know more about what he was being charged with ect. I was feeling really good about this Mr Daroca, after all that seemed fair. I then asked Mr daroca if he could give me a ball park estimate of what it was going to cost, he said "quote on quote" normally in a high profile case such as this one, that it would cost me a minimum of 25,000. With that said, he asked me if I had that kind of cash, My answer to him was this. Mr Daroca, I can pay that, but I need to possibly sell one of three very expensive watches that I owned, but assured him that one of the watches alone, would cover the 25,000 he had estimated it would cost, I told him that I was going to take to someone that would possibly lend me the money and hold my watch curatorial. He asked me if he could see my watches, of course you can Mr Daroca. I went into my bedroom and came back with the watches I had told him about. I had (1) PATEK PHILIPPE 24kt (1) TAG Heuer Monaco and (1) Omega Railmaster. I set them on my coffee table so that he could look at them, I already knew that these watches were in fact worth quit a bit of money, at least my Patek Philippe still had the receipt in the original box,from When my aunt purchased this watch for $42,372.00 six years prior. So hear we are at my living room table and Phil turns to me and says "Quote On Quote" I have a friend that would give me an fair and honest value on my watches and would most likely work something out with me so I could let him hold one of the watches and he would lend me the money so that I could pay Phil for his services. I thought wow that would be great, Mr Daroca assured me that if I wasn't comfortable with what they offered that it would be my decision, and that I would not be obligated to accept any agreement. So I let Mr. Daroca take the watches, why wouldn't I? ...... WORST DECISION I EVER MADE!!!!! Not only did he fail on his obligation to my fiance for representation, he kept my watches, and will not give them back!!!! All in all this is a complete run down of what he did for my fiance case. He was late and very unprepared for his arraignment, Did nothing to explain to me what exactly was going on, All he kept saying after my fiance had already seen the judge,and had been told his charges, was that " He Is In Big Trouble" over and over, then proceeded to say that the price just went up because of the complicity of his case. That day I gave Mr Daroca $10,000, I asked him if his " Friend" had looked at my watches, and he said that he would know something by the next day. I said fine he then assured me that he was going to go talk to my fiance in the holding cell, for he could go over what had just happened in court, and why he was not going to be able to get the "NO Bail" lifted until his next court date. I went home, later that evening my fiance called me and said that Mr Daroca, never went back to talk to him, at this point I was a little irritated but still never in a million years would I have thought would happen, actually happened. I was having a lot of encounters with law enforcement over my fiance case, I tried calling Phil but would only get his answering service, mind you, my fiance is now only three days away until his preliminary, Mr. Daroca has NOT been to the jail to talk to my fiance about anything, my fiancee is so stressed out, Finally Mr Daroca calls me on my cell phone the evening before court and says that he would be at the court house early, to talk to my fiance before the court proceeding started . that he would meet me at court the minute he was finished going over things with my fiancee. The next morning I get to the court house at 8:30 AM, I go to the court room at sit there waiting for Mr Daroca, its now 10:00 Am, No Daroca, After multiple calls to him he finally calls me back and tells me he was 10 minutes away, it is now almost lunch time, 10 minutes pass, now about 30 minutes, its right before the courts break for lunch. the judge says lets go ahead and bring Him out( My Fiancee) the clerk states that daroca was running late and he was legal counsel for my fiancee, by this time the district attorney stood up and said that the state was dismissing all 18 felony counts on my fiance, I was in shock I did read more

Pathetic, Corrupt Attorney. Worst Experience Ever!! Avoid Him Like The Plague! I was falsely accused of a misdemeanor some years back. It was minor and should have been easy by anyone's standards, to prove my uninvolvement. Unfortunately, through a friend of a friend of a friend's attorney, I ended up with Sylvan Phil Daroca, who NEVER ONCE met with me in person -ever!! He did not EVER inform me of my Right to Confornt My Accuser (just that could have ended the matter right there, but wouldn't have made as much $ for Mr Daroca ). Instead, Mr "Da Joka" took his sweet time, made sure to collect his thousands from me, while I sweated. From the first day i spoke with him via phone, he wanted me to plea bargain -a No Contest... . "Sorry,No Way, Mr Daroca. i did NOTHING wrong. i want to go to court and fight it." This upset Mr Daroca greatly, as it might involve more for him than cashing my checks and walking (literally) across the street to the courthouse to file a paper or two. When this pathetic excuse for a lawyer stopped returning my calls if I suggested ANYTHING other than 'plea bargaining," I got worried and went to his office in person. Of course, not there! His secretary gave what i discovered is the standard response about "she never sees him, never in the office, etc." i talked to the other attorney in his office and was rudely brushed away as if I were a leper. With literally days to go before my court date, I tried a different approach, against my better judgement: I left him a voice mail that I would be willing to discuss plea bargaining, after all. WITHIN MINUTES, there's a call from a jovial Mr. Daroca - suddenly available again, suddenly willing to talk and take my calls! Wow! What a change. This made everything so much easier for 'Phil'. Now he could just call his "friend" the D.A. (they were 'very close' he told me). Glad I was able to make things so easy for him - no need to meet me, no need to plan a "defense" of any sort. Just collect his money and bail out on another low-life paean client such as myself. To this day, I regret EVER calling this sub-human attorney. Please, friends - learn your rights, know what your lawyer is supposed to do. You're paying him - he should be fighting for you. I had no experience with attorneys and got burned completely, to the point of STILL having to basically say i was guilty of a crime and lining DaRoca's pockets I'm sure he had a smug laugh on me afterward, but Yelp is here now, and I can spread the word here, as I have to numerous other attorneys, friends, websites, and organizations I speak with. I never post any reviews on these sites but, after reading the two that are currently posted I thought it might be important to say something about my experience. I have known Phil for a little over ten years & he is an excellent lawyer. Early on, I retained him for myself & everything went better than I thought was even possible. Over the years if someone asks me about a good criminal attorney I've never hesitated to refer them to Phil. No one has ever come back to me with anything negative to say. I've seen him really work some miracles for people. The bottom line is that if you have a case in Pasadena or Alhambra superior court & need a lawyer it would be a huge mistake not to retain Phil. He knows everyone. He is still just as good of an attorney whatever court he is at.
