He explained to me how at the time of my accident he was dealing with some personal issues that made it difficult for him to attend to my case as well as he would have liked to and mistakingly believed that another party was handling things. I FINALLY found an honest lawyer. Just when I was beginning to believe that the words "honest lawyer" were and oxymoron. Don goes above and beyond what most lawyers do these days. In this day and age, it's completely refreshing to hire someone who delivers exactly what he promises. That person is Don Matson. I really don't know what I would've done if I hadn't taken a chance and called Don after reading his reviews on Yelp. Normally, I take such reviews with a massive grain of salt, assuming that people usually either have an axe to grind, or are friends with the person they should be reviewing objectively. So even though he had great reviews here, I was reluctant to call. However, from the moment we first spoke, he put me at ease, and my concerns about my case to rest. I'd been pulled over with an expired license and subsequently cited with a failure to appear due to a court error (they filed my ticket twice, at two different courthouses). I'd been to the courthouse four times and gotten nothing but the runaround. I was practically in tears when I finally called Don, who not only went to court for me so I wouldn't miss yet another day of work trying to straighten things out, but got the case completely DROPPED. He also handled a second ticket for me while he was there! On top of THAT, he paid my fine for that ticket right there on the spot, so I wouldn't have to bother sending in a check to the court. Can we say detail oriented? Trustworthy? The best part is that Don is also an incredibly nice guy, and really cared about my case and getting me the best resolution possible. He answered my texts minutes after they reached him, and the day he went to court, he sent me reassuring updates throughout the entire process. Short review: Don is THE BEST. Don't hesitate to call him if you need legal help. He is friendly, honest and capable and he will make whatever bad situation that you are dealing with better. Long review: I got a pretty serious speeding ticket on New Year's Day trying to get to my parent's house in time for my Dad's open heart surgery the next day. Of all of the things that I needed to deal with, a speeding ticket with pretty severe consequences was the last thing that I wanted to deal with. I searched car forums, yelp and some various DIY websites for how to fight a ticket, and I ultimately decided that given Don's yelp reviews, he was who I should contact first. I am SO glad that I did. Don is incredibly responsive. I left him a voice mail while he was in court and he texted me back immediately saying that he was in court but would call me soon. I met him at his office later that day, because I tend to prefer face to face interaction for something such as this, and Don is the real deal. We discussed the ticket and the strategy to fight it, what works, what doesn't and a whole lot of other non-ticket related things, because Don is just a genuinely great and caring person. I left feeling so much better about the whole situation knowing that I have the right person dealing with the issue to give me the best chance at the outcome that I seek. Don is awesome! I called him up a couple years ago to get some quotes and some insight on a few traffic violations I've had. I have a lead foot and it gets me in trouble. Don gave me a fair price and talking with him through the phone I felt I could trust him to help me out and get the best outcome for me. I met in the lobby of his residence and we went over a few things. He is a really laid-back guy and its so easy to have a conversation with him. He had a lot in common with me so I felt he understood where I was coming from. Anyway...a year later hes pulled a few tricks and beat one ticket and got the other one reduced (I was going 95 in a 50 and he got it reduced to a 65 in a 50 AND got me traffic school.
