I live only about a two-minute walk from the store, yet 6 of the fish were dead by the time I got home. The remaining three died off one by one shortly after. When we called the store to ask about a refund, we were informed there had been an outbreak of ich in the neon green rasbora tank. We were also told that one fish was already dead in the tank at the time of purchase. This information was not disclosed to us before buying them. Between witnessing fish being mishandled, the lack of transparency about disease in the tanks, and the rapid loss of every fish we purchased, I cannot recommend this store. The fish do not appear to be properly cared for, and the staff did not seem knowledgeable or forthcoming about the health of their livestock. I hope the store improves its animal care practices and communication with customers moving forward.

Mat took the time to explain the different feed and helped me decide what was best for my old horse. And then me loaded it up for me and by the time that was done the guy on the fork-lift, Dan or Din maybe, already had all my fencing supplies ready. I hate to say that I was disappointed, but I left empty-handed. Like many smaller pet stores, they can carry only so much merchandise. The staff (and the customers!) were surprisingly easy to talk to, and I felt I could hang out there all evening. Lots of good vibes. Since I was there for only one night, I don't know how easy it is to order what you need, although I've never had a problem with smaller stores in the past. My impression was that they would be happy to do so. One thing that I found amusing is that they sell cigarettes, too. I wouldn't be surprised if the bulk of their income results from these products. (It's not a bad business decision, really. Tobacco sells and there are always customers for it. They have always been great in customer service. If I needed something special they order it for me. The reason I still shop here is because of the deal I get on my dog food. I only feed Grain Free to ALL my pets. So I literally have to go to all the major pet stores to find the best prices. Some of my cat food cans are up to $1.69 per can and I definately watch the sales weekly. So mini pet mart has this customer program for the Nutro dog food- you buy 10 bags- they keep track of it for me and keep it in a file- then I get a free bag on the 11th visit. It's $53 per bag of dog food and my two 100 lb dogs go through a bag every two weeks. So every 5 months I get a free bag and I love this perk. So yes, it makes it worth it to come here separately and keep the punch card active. They also often have the dog food on sale for $48- which helps too. For folks who smoke cigarettes, mini pet mart beats most prices for smokes. I see Tons of customers just coming in for cigarettes- so obviously they're coming for the good prices. They have one of the best selections of leashes, harnesses and collars too. One whole wall is all animal gear- so this is a great store to find the best colors and variety.

I get competitive prices here and almost all the high end dog food is cheaper here than at the nation wide pet retailers that are here in town. I buy Nutro Ultra here. I also prefer Mini pet Marts selection of collars. Way more choices in colors and patterns. Also cigarettes are cheaper here for the most part and they seem to get a lot of coupon offers on smokes which makes my boyfriend happy. Overall this is a good store- the employees are friendly but not as inviting as when I go into the crater lake store. I always get a greeting at the other branch and not so much here- but once being checked out, they are nice. Support local business
