I have been seeing Dr. Gee for over 5 years. He is very kind, friendly, and professional on top of delivering great care. He is always open for talking through things, like if I'm between two different prescriptions, starting contact lenses, and just general eye concerns. They are also super quick with most contact or frames orders and will call very quickly to let us know we can pick them up. And, they are super accommodating with timing for pickups or squeezing in an appointment when needed. Dr. Gee is fantastic and always very caring. The office has 2 Optometrist. Dr. Lee and Dr. Gee. Dr. Lee has been my optometrist for more than 15 years. I am happy with his care quality and professionalism. His office is neat and nice. I had not had an eye exam for about 5 years now. So I decided to make an eye appointment. Dr. Lee and and Gee have been in this location for over 20 years. Both Dr. Lee and Dr. Gee are very nice and personable. They don't rush their eye exams and they take there time. Dr. Gee was very honest and told me that I did not need to do much with my eyes since I had lasik surgery and my vision was very good. Dr. Gee took his time and did a very detailed exam. No fancy machines, he stated to me that when you do a physical exam you get to see the patient reaction, you can observe their behavior, so you can tell if they are really seeing what they say they seeing. Overall, I was pretty impressed with my exam. They took a full hour. Other appointment I had was done through machines and was very quick. They are good people. I feel I can trust them and they are honest. I also like that it is just Dr. Lee and Dr. Gee instead of a whole staff of people. Feels very personable. read more

I've been a patient for about 5 years. I've worn glasses for about 30 years (~75% of my life). In the last few years, I've relocated to SF, but still make the drive to get my examination there. Both Dr. Lee and Dr. Gee are the most detailed oriented optometrists I've ever worked with. They are incredibly patient during the examination process and aim to get the prescription as accurate as possible. (You guys know what I'm taking about when they're flipping the different lenses going "is a better or b better?" and you're like IM NOT SURE!?). Over the years they've made recommendation on prescription and new contact lenses brands that have immensely helped with comfort and strain (because we all stare at a screen for too long.) Dr. Lee provides very thorough examination. He even exams aspects not done by other optometrists. He and his assistant are very helpful and extremely conscientious in fitting the right frame and lens do that one feels RIGHT with the ones you walk out. After sale services are also excellent. If you don't feel right, they will patiently adjust until you are comfortable. He will consider LASIK if that is a better option for you. Highly recommended. It sucks when you start showing signs of age and typically it's your sight that tends to go first. My keen vision has started to deteriorate so I made an appointment with Dr. Lee to get my eyes checked. I hated to hear those words come out of his mouth but he said I needed glasses for reading. I was fine with distance but my short distance was failing quickly! He said I could probably get away with cheaters but eventually would need to get a pair that would work for my reading and computer reading distances. Glasses weren't cheap but I wanted something lightweight and due to my line of work, I needed something comfortable so I could wear it while on the job. Dr. Lee is very soft spoken and very thorough! Recently, my husband visited here for the first time. His experience was fairly good, he liked the doctor but has complained that the receptionist was a little clueless. After getting set up with contacts, he decided a few weeks later to buy some glasses to wear at home. We found a great deal (especially since our insurance benefits had already been used up) but my husband needed a copy of his eyeglass prescription (which really should have been provided at his original visit...) so we called ahead and requested it. My husband arrived, the receptionist couldn't find his file, yada yada, eventually found it and gave him the RX. Also told him he owed approximately $145 that the insurance didn't cover-this "fee" was because the receptionist had given him a "tutorial" on how to put in his contacts. Scam? Anyway, husband went to get his glasses and it was the last day of the great deal; found out that he had not been given a RX for eyeglasses as requested but had been given a RX for contacts. By that time, the Dr.'s office was closed and would not re-open for 2 more days. The eyeglass store was not willing to wait until the proper RX could be faxed in and so we lost out on the great deal. I just called the Dr's office-spoke with the clueless receptionist and explained very clearly what had happened but had to repeat myself several times. She again had a hard time finding my husband in their system and eventually found his file then put me on hold for close to 5 minutes. I didn't mind as I thought she was consulting with someone-maybe trying to figure out a way to rectify the situation. Nope, she was just answering another call. Told me I could pick up the RX before 5:30pm and she was sorry. Whatever. I was going to visit their office as I need glasses as well but we'll be going elsewhere. So, the Dr's may be good but maybe they need a better front office person. read more

Dr. Lee looked at my eyes yesterday and did a great job. He takes the time to explain how my eyes are changing in a way that I can understand. He obviously cares about me as a patient and takes the time to fully answer my questions. He helped me to understand how my eyes are changing and what to expect in the future. I live in Nevada and Dr. Darren Lee is my optometrist. I doubt that I can find another doctor as cool (not pushy), friendly, and dedicated (to my eye health) as Dr. Lee. My first optometrist was Dr. Alan Lee who owned this practice when I lived and worked in Foster City. Dr. Alan Lee then retired and the practice was taken over by Dr Darren Lee (not Dr. Alan's son). I thought Dr. Alan Lee was cool, but Dr. Darren Lee was even friendlier. I've been with Dr. Darren Lee since. Dr. Darren Lee has a very calm presence. He is genuinely interested in knowing me and asks about how my life is going each time I see him. He asks me for my opinion, gives his, and doesn't attempt to push me to buy products or services that I don't need. He's there to help his patients and do good. Dr. Lee's office is bright and clean. His eyewear prices are reasonable, though I've switched to contacts. Plenty of parking in the back of the building. I can't recommend Dr. Darren Lee enough and plan to keep him as my optometrist for as long as I can. read more

I chose this office for it's (close) location and they were in-network. Got paired with Dr. Lee. All I can say is "He was terrific." Pleasant, thorough, conscientious, even a sense of humor (atypical for most doctors). He pointed out after verifying my "poor vision" that the frame was bent (forcing me to see improperly through my bifocal lenses) and the lenses were very dirty. He straightened and cleaned them as part of the global fee and did not push any of his own stock. A thoroughly positive experience which I expect to repeat when I return. read more
