We got married at a venue that spanned a large property in the middle of the High Desert, and the temperature at the time Leslie started couldn't have been cooler than 90 degrees. She managed to capture all of the special moments that preceded the actual ceremony, including brides' prep, first look, and both bridal parties. She then hustled down for the ceremony, and then managed to wrangle all of us afterward for photos during the "golden hour" against the breathtaking backdrop of beautiful Joshua trees and prehistoric rock formations. Somehow, she still had energy to work the cocktail hour, dinner and speeches, and then the most insane reception, which included dancing, a pinata, and a mariachi band. I was a little nervous about the whole thing, but the whole experience was so much fun, I couldn't wait to write a review and recommend them to others. My hair and makeup session was really a blast. Without being able to see what Stacey was doing, I had no idea what to expect ... wow! I literally did not recognize myself -- and this is a good thing. In under an hour, I went from dumpy, pasty and frizzy to glamour girl. Stacey kept me entertained the whole time, and was happy to take the look in a different direction when one technique wasn't coming out quite right. I brought most of my own wardrobe, but also made a few selections from the items on hand -- I was impressed with the variety of sizes available and was able to find something that fit, although I can charitably be described as "zaftig". And on to the photo shoot! Carol has a great eye for lighting, poses, colors and how to guide you into a flattering shot. The pictures look amazing! I look totally unlike myself, which is exactly what I was going for. We had such a good time -- she has a knack for making you feel happy and photogenic, and the pictures reflect that, as well as being beautifully shot, composed, lit, etc. They are really artistic and fun, classy through and through ... DAY OF THE SHOOT: We met up on campus at UCLA and he explained to me that I could suggest places where I wanted pictures specifically or that he could also find areas that would look great in pictures. I suggested a few spots on campus and we went to take the pictures. I wasn't sure about what poses to do, but Javier was prepared with examples of poses I can do. We did the standard headshot, he guided me with how to pose with my sash, as well as placed me where the light would come out best. He was very warm, professional, and paid attention to detail throughout the shoot. RECEIVING THE PICTURES: Javier let me know that there would be about a week period until I would receive the final photos. However, to my delight, he delivered the pictures within 3 days of the shoot! He delivered them through a google drive link that only I had access to. All the pictures were impeccable quality. WOULD I HIRE HIM AGAIN? Definitely. He was very caring, easy to work with, and genuine about delivering the best pictures he could.
