Late night dining on a business trip with work colleagues. We had the most awesome tapas and great ambiance, but the place is a bit small, but it is super cozy. Excellent and helpful service and very friendly. My favorite is the mushroom( champion) with lots of selections of wine selections. Definitely have to get the dessert read more

Adorable tapas place right near KaDeVe. Prices are completely fair. Atmosphere is cozy and elegant, even when they're playing uptempo lounge music (not too loud). Very friendly owner, who will sit next to you to take your order, make oinking noises if you order pork in English, push the upsell (whether it be prawns, or bread and aioli, or Prosecco), and always with a smile that makes you feel like family. Some elements are middling (quality of pork, or iceberg lettuce in the salad), and some are really good (rose cava champagne; physalis; chorizo). But for the decor and location and ambience and price, it's a sweet spot that hits the sweet spot. read more

Great place to have Tapas. Between the three of us I think we tried all of them. One of the best was dates wrapped in bacon. Also the shrimp with aioli sauce was excellent. Sautéed mushrooms were tasty.Some of the really great ones are hard to translate, but they were good. The place is cozy so get there early or be prepared to wait---especially if you want to sit outside, The bottle of wine we had (Fuerza Jumilla) was delicious. Service was perfect. A good place to have Tapas. My girlfriend and I were in Berlin and after a tiring day sightseeing, really wanted to eat somewhere close to our hotel (The Crowne Plaza Berlin City Center). We ordered two chicken dishes. One with garlic and pepper and the other in a creamy white wine sauce. Additionally we also had the meatballs (my girlfriend's favorite dish). To quote her you can't go wrong with meatballs haha. And last we had the wonderful grilled prawns and pepperoni....which btw people pepperoni is not what Americans think of as pepperoni but instead really hot peppers!!! It proved to be a lot of food but the food was excellent. The only downside to this place was the service was really bad. Only two waiters. One of them did not even understand English. We came here hungry and tired after a day out for an early dinner. We were the first people who sat down in the restaurant, so our group of 6 was accomodated immediately. Later on, the small restaurant filled up pretty much completely. As soon as we sat down, our waiter offered us recommendations for wines that we preferred. His English wasn't strong but luckily we had someone in the group who could speak German. The wines were all up on shelves on the wall, and all of them had small labels with the prices of each bottle. We ended up ordering one stronger glass of wine and a bottle of sweeter, lighter wine. The waiter recommended that we each got 3 medium tapas plates; we also got two baskets of bread with aioli. The bread was kind of hard but the aioli was delicious. I ordered a meatball plate, garlic prawns, and chicken with paprika. All were good and three plates was the perfect amount for a meal. The wine was also very good. The service was nice, but at the end when our waiter was clearing our plates he dropped one, spilling sauce over two of my friends. An honest mistake, but still an annoyance to deal with. Overall would definitely recommend going here, especially with its convenient location near the shopping area! read more

The place was beautiful and music was good. Food was really delicious and I enjoyed every second of my dining experience. Also the staff were polite and helpful. Sharing food was a good idea so we could taste more items on the meny .I would recommend you to taste the meatballs because they were delicious! I'm definitely coming back! Extremely overpriced for the quality of food you receive, along with a sprinkle of lack of professionalism on top. The atmosphere is great. It's a cozy, small place. Perhaps a bit too cozy as the restaurant got quite hot and stuffy as more people came in, but the decor is great. The waiting staff is friendly, but being friendly doesn't justify being unprofessional. I made a reservation weeks before, but I still had to tell that I have a reservation while standing in a crowded restaurant twice to two different people-not to mention that all three of the staff were checking. The service was very slow. It took 20 minutes to receive the menu, and another bunch of waiting time to order. Food came out very slowly (about 70 minutes until the main came to the table). One of the staff was sitting down with his friends and ordering drinks, while the customers were sitting and waiting to be served. The starter was menial even though it was 12€. Some pieces of salami, very thinly sliced cheese, 2 pieces of serano ham, some random pickles and olives with a dead salad in the middle. The "bread basket" was 3 tiny pieces off of a small baguette, and the "aioli" was just a local döner place garlic sauce. Good garlic sauce, but not worth the money. The main was definitely not impressive. The potatoes that the staff recommended was bland. Couldn't taste the rosemary flavor as mentioned, and the sauce was Valentina - the Mexican hot sauce. I know this because I have it at home. Chicken(both in white wine sauce and garlic oil) was dry and bland. I don't quite understand how something can be so saucy yet dry and bland. The sausage was very chewy and the flavor was off. The meatball was average. However, the mushroom was great. Too bad that I couldn't enjoy the rest of the food because some of them were just off for me. I had to spit out the chicken because it was way too dry and chewy. All in all, the bill was ridiculously high for what was served. For dry chicken and lackluster ham and cheese and some sides with no alcohol, the bill amounted to around 70€. If you want tapas, just go to one of the franchise tapas restaurants you can find around Berlin. This one really doesn't deserve the good reputation. Those who said the chicken was delicious has got some seriously low standard. Would never go again, and would definitely not recommend. read more

Visiting friends in Berlin and my wife and I had a free night. I am happy to say we discovered this gem of a restaurant. Fantastic atmosphere, staff, and food. German tourist trap. First warning sign, the servers don't speak English OR Spanish. It's supposed to be a Tapas bar, yet there is no bar or standing room. I try to order à la carte Tapas style, and the server is pushy. First pushes an aperitif, then wine, cold starter plate, potato salad, enough already! I almost feel like leaving but have come this far so I order. The albondigas seem like they were microwaved. IKEA's meatballs are better! I've never seen chorizo covered in tomato sauce, the same sauce as albondigas. It tasted off... Second warning sign, techno music pumping with darkened ambiance. Trying too hard to be hip. Bossy, rude owner who disrespects his patrons if you don't eat/spend what he tells you to eat/spend. To start, we grew to a group of 8 which I did make the reservation (first 6 then 8) & he accepted. We had 1 additional person joining which the owner gave us an incredible hard time about. He complained on & on! He wouldn't stop talking about it. Enough already! We apologized profusely. It started to feel like we were begging for him to let us stay. By then (after he seemed to calm down & warm up to us) we had already been there 20 minutes with no service, no drinks, no orders taken. Only listening to the owner complain about how horrible we were with so many at the table. I had no idea how tiny this restaurant was!! Otherwise I would not have booked a big group. Rather, the owner should have said "No". Finally we got some drinks. We needed it. One of my friends wanted a small portion. The rest of us wanted the large tapas. Mind you, this would have been a big check collectively. The owner tells my friend, "this is my house, my business, & when you're here you order what I tell you", which are the larger more expensive portions. We say, "yes, some of us are doing this & some of us don't want so much food". Either way we would still be spending ample amounts of money to satisfy his wallet! He rudely responded by saying, "I'll tell you what to eat." First of all, there are small portion plates on the menu with separate prices from the larger portions..& there was nothing stated on the menu i.e.: order requirements. In short, this owner was totally out of line & disrespectful. No excuse. We quickly paid our drinks and left. NEVER AGAIN would we go there. I will tell everyone I know not to go to Das Bonito in Berlin. If the food is good, we have no idea because the owner didn't let us make our own choices. read more

This is a fabulous wine bar and tapas Resturaunt. I've been in Berlin for a week and have gone back twice. The host was wonderful, friendly and informative. The garlic chicken made my knees go weak, not to mention the date wrapped in bacon. Great wine selection and for two people, several glasses of wine, 5 tapas dishes, potato and salad and bread we only spent 40 euro. Spent a few hours there shooting the breeze and the waiter came and gave a bonus Spanish grappa to taste. We wobble back to the hotel well satisfied. A must try. read more

Wow, this place was excellent. The nice man that runs the restaurant almost didn't have space for us so please consider a reservation. We had sardines, chicken with paprika, chicken in a white sauce, vegetables, prawns, and potatoes. All of it was so tasty and the people running this place are extremely friendly.
