Very good steaks! We came in for an early dinner and had made a reservation to be near the grill. We had a few...interesting interactions with the grill chef. The food was still good and am glad we came by. Would def come through again when looking for a solid steak. Preface: I love steaks. I know what goes on, in, and around a piece of marbled goodness. This restaurant had one of the best cuts I've ever had. My dinner started off with a traditional radish salad. Shredded pieces of radish in a milky sauce that was light and left room for the main dish. I ordered the roast beef steak with a side of "spitfire" potatoes. The steak had a perfect sear and the flavor was unbelievable! The technique of how the steak was prepared allowed all the flavors to be retained without adding any fancy spices. Simple, traditional, exceptional. Also, the potatoes have outstanding flavor. Wood smoked and an awesome compliment to the steak. read more

We waited a bit long for our food, the cook came and apologized because it took long even by German standards, but it was worth it. I enjoyed my pork with mushrooms and onions and fries. My friend enjoyed his pork steak. All of us enjoyed the seasoning on my cousin's lamb rock. We all loved the garlic bread as well. The servers were nice. read more

The best steakhouse in Idar-Oberstein. Particularly loved their 300g rib-eye steak with fire-roasted potatoes. They are located at the center of historic Idar-Oberstein, quaint and surrounded by several edelsteins (jewelry stores). Stefan and his staff are exceptional, great service. read more

If you come to Germany and don't stop at this place you have failed to fulfill your experience here. They have the best steaks very juicy and seasoned to perfection doesn't matter how thick you get it. Service is really good and the wait time is not that bad given that they make everything fresh. I rather wait all day for my food and have it fresh versus a short wait time and the food just okay. I gave it a four star because I wish they had more sides to choose from but other than that this is one of my favorite places to go if i want steak I wouldn't go anywhere else. Oh and it is a little pricey we spend about 80 euro easy with a family of 3 and no alcohol. read more

Easily the best steaks we've ever had. The quality of the beef was excellent and the flavor unparalleled by any of the many more expensive steaks we've had around the world. That said, all of the food our table chose was fantastic. The schnitzel is flavorful, and the sides were unusual and perfect. I'm determined to recreate their mildly flavored radish salad which compliments the steaks perfectly. The restaurant's atmosphere is charming. If you are ever in the area, this restaurant is a must. Earn your lunch/dinner by hiking up to the nearby church and castle ruins first. read more
