Parked and discovered the establishment was closed despite Yelp showing they were open, along with the hours posted on the storefront showing they should be open. However, the place was locked up and from peering through the window, the place was a mess inside. Luckily, we live nearby to Swigg, a shop which offers a well curated selection of wines, craft beers, and liquors. BF sent a Facebook message with our shopping list with a brief lowdown of our intentions for each liquor. Within a hour, we received a response that they had selected bottles to meet our needs. Once we pulled into their parking lot, we were quickly addressed and our order was placed into our trunk. The whole ordeal was smooth, seamless, and safe as far as social distancing. We got gin, tequila, a bourbon for mixed drinks, and a bourbon to sip (we needed to stock up, okay?). All bottles were brands I hadn't heard of and wouldn't have selected on my own, but we really enjoyed all of their selections... even the gin, despite the fact that I'm not typically a gin girl. We also added on a "mystery 6 pack" for $12, which came with an assortment of 6 beers and a pint glass. A couple of the beers were winners, though most were mediocre at best. A great deal, but somewhat disappointing. All in all a great curbside shopping experience with excellent, personalized customer service that we would have never gotten at a giant liquor store.

From the major wine countries to the (for USA) smaller wine countries, craft and big name spirits and beer, they have everything you could want at any price point you would want. The ad posted on their ice cream case said Edy's ice cream was $5.49 for a half gallon container. The problem is that Edy's doesn't sell ice cream in half gallon containers-they are only three quarts. Therefore Beach House was misleading its customers about what they were buying. You cannot advertise an item as half a gallon when it is only three quarts. I pointed this out at the register and the rude clerk said "I'm a liquor store I don't care." I later saw a lady in a red Cadillace SUV pull to the side of Crystal Beach Road when she saw me behind her headed towards Cecilton. She then pulled out behind me and followed me for several miles. The next day I returned to take a photo of the deceptive promotion and left. The same lady in the red Cadillac followed me and pulled into a nearby store lot behind me and began berating me. She told me I was no longer welcome in her business (Beach House Wine & Spirits) because I called them out for deceptive business practices. I told her I would be filing a complaint about them with the State of Maryland. She was very angry and very vocal after I explained to her that she was a crook. She kept saying she didn't care about deceiving her customers. I did file the complaint.

What used to be a typical local seedy-looking liquor store is becoming a formidable marketplace for better than decent craft and speciality brews. More than that, the young Indian dude behind the counter, J-Tee (that's who the Fella and I like to assume he is), is super knowledgeable and EXCITED about craft beer. Not only will he give you his personal reviews, but he's open to suggestion for incoming inventory. Note: you will pay a dollar or two more for those delicious craft brews. Suck it up and smile, moneybags; you're supporting local business while avoiding the bridge toll. (Everything else -liquor, wine, etc. - is priced the same as you'd find on either side of the river). As a girl who digs many a good IPA, its nice to have a place where the prices are still reasonable, the people are nice, the staff is beersmart, and the choices are fun and interesting.
