Luckily, we live nearby to Swigg, a shop which offers a well curated selection of wines, craft beers, and liquors. BF sent a Facebook message with our shopping list with a brief lowdown of our intentions for each liquor. Within a hour, we received a response that they had selected bottles to meet our needs. Once we pulled into their parking lot, we were quickly addressed and our order was placed into our trunk. The whole ordeal was smooth, seamless, and safe as far as social distancing. We got gin, tequila, a bourbon for mixed drinks, and a bourbon to sip (we needed to stock up, okay?). All bottles were brands I hadn't heard of and wouldn't have selected on my own, but we really enjoyed all of their selections... even the gin, despite the fact that I'm not typically a gin girl. We also added on a "mystery 6 pack" for $12, which came with an assortment of 6 beers and a pint glass. A couple of the beers were winners, though most were mediocre at best. A great deal, but somewhat disappointing. All in all a great curbside shopping experience with excellent, personalized customer service that we would have never gotten at a giant liquor store.

From the major wine countries to the (for USA) smaller wine countries, craft and big name spirits and beer, they have everything you could want at any price point you would want. The part that makes it all meld together well is that there is no "wine snobbery" here (unlike another DE wine store that shall not be mentioned). Whenever I am nearby or need to find something better than what can be found at my local Fine Wine and Good Spirits or Total Wine, I know Swigg will come through for me. Worth the visit!

They carry a great selection of wine including some local offerings from the Brandywine valley which is nearby. For beer lovers, they have the standard mass produced suds from Budweiser, Miller and Heineken to go along with selections from local breweries in Delaware and Maryland. Again, this is a nice shop and the staff is helpful. Fairfield has become one of my "go to" spots when I'm in the area.

That shows customer commitment to me, and the review was overdue. They've always kept a clean store and that says something in a college town. It's pricey, aisles are narrow, feels like a bit of a jumble, and weirdly unwelcoming. There were greetings and samples offered at the door by 2 people, but not to me for unknown reasons....at any point of my visit which was all near the front of the store and mostly in view of the same 2 people who were not that busy. Say what you will about bigger retailers but my experience is they absolutely make an effort to ask if you're finding what you need, etc., often multiple times by different employees....and the smaller shops do as well even if it's just the cashier shouting across the store. On the positive side they had more fun packaging / promo boxes (including glassware, etc.) that make good gifts, and that could be really useful, and also the location of the store is convenient in the area and has easy access from both sides of the corner. So there may be a few good reasons to shop here but I won't go back.
