Creative Portraits: I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I’ll help you plan a creative on-location session and provide clear direction, so you do not have to worry about what to do in front of the camera.
Personal Branding and Professional Headshots: For artists, educators, consultants, founders, and other independent professionals, I make photographs for your website, LinkedIn, press, social media, and other print or digital uses. I also photograph actors who need current headshots for auditions.
Private Celebrations: I work with hosts to plan around key people, the schedule, and the moments that matter at birthdays, anniversaries, receptions, and formal gatherings.
Organizational and Business Events: I plan coverage around key people, speakers, branding, and program activity, then deliver photographs your organization can use for communications, reporting, press, and future promotion.

History
Established in 2019.
Dave Holton Photography began with portrait and event clients in North Carolina in 2019 and became a New Orleans practice after Dave moved to the city in 2024. Since moving to the Crescent City, Dave has photographed family portraits in the French Quarter, executive headshots in City Park, Mardi Gras krewe celebrations, conventions at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, formal fraternity and sorority soirees on Bourbon Street, and award ceremonies in private ballrooms along Canal Street. He has also photographed musicians at work, creative professionals building the next chapter of their careers, first-time actors preparing headshots for auditions, and families marking a visit or milestone. His event coverage has included celebrations, conferences, and gatherings built around causes people care about. Meet the Business Owner: Dave H.
I’m Dave, a New Orleans photographer, writer, and visual storyteller. I came to photography first through a love of street and travel documentary and behind-the-scenes work for collaborators in film and theatre. I have won awards for my own creative work across fiction, film, and theatre as a writer and director. This mix of creative work and practical production experience still shapes how I approach a project. I enjoy the part before the camera comes out as much as the photography itself, and I love to dig into what matters to the people I’m working with and what they are hoping to get out of the collaboration: talking through ideas, figuring out the details, and helping people feel prepared. Whether photographing a personal-branding session, a family celebration, or a corporate event, I like working closely with clients so the photographs feel authentic and tell a compelling story. I am a member of Professional Photographers of America and the New Orleans Photo Alliance.
