I am writing this from a new Yelp account as I don't want to blast my 300+ friends on my other Yelp with my DUI review - not my finest moment ya know? Anyway, Jake is an exceptional lawyer and all he does is DUI cases. He got me an INCREDIBLE outcome considering my very high BAC levels that included a minor fender bender when I got the DUI - which could have been a FELONY! This was my first DUI, (very humbled after the experience), and I cannot believe the light sentence Jake negotiated on my behalf. This guy did EVERYTHING for me including representing me in court, dealing with the DMV, etc. I mean this is full service for a VERY reasonable fee. I could not have done this on my own. Highlights: -No felony charges! I did got to a 30 day treatment program which most definitely kept me out of jail, but Jake was able to negotiate that time to count toward my sentence. -Only three months of DUI classes (should have had nine with enhanced charges) -Breathalyzer 18mos, which I'm cool with bc there is no chance I can drive with this thing with ANY alcohol in my system -No community service, or SWAP, here in Humboldt where I live I honestly cannot believe the outcome. This guy is the man! I made an incredibly stupid decision to go drink and drive in wine country (I know) and was popped big time for a second DUI! I'm only a 23 year old finishing up at a university up here in the bay area and I thought my life was over! It was my second one in four years! Let me begin by saying Jake Schwartz deserves more than 5 stars, if applicable I would give him more! Without a doubt, calling Jake was the best decision I could have made after realizing I needed legal representation. I was positively perplexed with Jake's professionalism and intelligence. Dave did an amazing job on my case. I had a unique issue that I hadn't dealt with so I called Dave. I contacted a few lawyers and Dave shot me straight. He was completely up front with me about the fact that I didn't necessarily need a lawyer to do what I needed done. He was very clear with me about the steps i needed to take to get everything resolved. After he told me everything I needed to do, I told him I didn't have the time to do this all myself, so I hired Dave to represent me. I never once went to court myself and in the end, he saved me more money by getting everything i had against me down to a $150 fine! Situation: No pants, no shoes, driving a borrowed car with a BAC of 0.15% and no license on me. End result because I hired Jake: No community service, no jail time aside from the initial 5 hours in the drunk tank, the 0.15% excess blood alcohol charges were dropped. I had my wrists slapped, paid a ticket, my driver's license was suspended for only 30 days, and I am privileged (err... required) to meet new, interesting people in DUI class for 3 months.
