As a large antiques dealer, we frequently ship/move pieces, both domestically and internationally. And it is almost always a hassle (think: late/not showing up, damaged or missing pieces, bad personnel, etc.), including when we use "blue chip" carriers. In contrast, my experience this week with your team of Bo and Marco was a pleasure. They showed-up on time (wearing masks) and were extremely capable, as per the company's motto. We hired Dave The Mover because they were the only ones available when we needed and their costs seemed reasonable. They showed up on time, were friendly, at the time we thought this was going to be a good experience. Big mistake: during the move they actually broke our big flat panel TV but took no responsibility for it :( They claim they are insured, but then said that the insurance is only $50 per item?!? The TV was worth $1700 and it looks it will be a total loss for us, this made this a very expensive move. I am going to try to sue them in small claims court to see if I can recover at least some of the loss, but this has been quite disappointing. Next time I need a mover I'll make sure to go with a more reputable firm, not a flimsy LLC like Dave The Mover. read more

I arranged a move for Thursday. They had been emailing me. Yesterday I emailed about changing the move date to Saturday. The said they could do it but I needed to Zelle $600. I sent the money and I was emailed payment received. Then this morning, Thursday movers show up. Told them it was changed to Saturday. They left. I emailed that I had changed the move to Saturday and they confirmed. Then I get a phone call asking why we sent the mover guys away. I explained it all again. She said she did not get an email from me requesting the change or ask for money. I had been replying to thei emails!! Now the will not respond to my texts or phone calls. Just used Dave the Mover to move from Washington DC to Sperryville, Virginia. Jose, Bo and Carlos showed up at exactly 9:30 -- on the nose -- in DC as previously arranged, despite rush hour traffic. We walked through the move, and they took over. Incredibly professional, polite and thorough. They wrapped and boxes everything and took great care to protect the furniture. It was secured in the truck to avoid moving during the drive. They accomplished a miracle moving some of the pieces in Sperryville. I wasn't present but friends who were shared my view on how professional they were. They had a small incident and immediately brought it to my friend's attention. Perla, in the office, made sure I was aware of it when I called to pay. Also found the cost very reasonable. Highly recommend this crew for your next move. I needed to move out of my house, and didn't think it through. I had set up a time and date, and then postponed it, but the dispatcher didn't get the message and the guys showed up. I wasn't there. The second time they came, they were 30 minutes late, and I was on a time table. But fortunately I had packed 95% of the items and they quickly put everything in the truck. I have a $10,000 dining table that they moved without a hitch. They didn't drop anything and packed the truck so that we could make two stops: storage and new house. We started at 9:30 and finished by 2 PM. The cost was extremely reasonable. I have already planned to hire them again. read more

He came to the house to give me an estimate like he said he would. We walked through the house. He opened doors & looked at everything. I walked with him. I hadn't decided yet if I was going to use them. So he wrote me down as Monday & to me to call them. I told him to keep me down for Monday & I would call if I wasn't going to use them, but right now it's a yes. Anyway, Monday came around & no show. I called & asked what happened & he said him & I decided that I was suppose to call if I was going to use them. And I told him, that isn't what I had said. So anyway instead of one day moving, it was done 2 days. They came 1 day to pack me, (which everything was not packed) & the next day they came & moved me. But it didn't end there. They did not take everything because they didn't have a big enough truck. That wasn't my fault. Then I asked if they were coming back to get the rest & they said no. So, the guy that was head of the move, called his boss because he knew I was pissed. So they came back a couple days later. But, they still didn't take everything. So, my Sister and I had to pack up our cars (she has a good size vehicle). It took me serval trips to get everything thing. I am 66 years old & my husband was a stroke victim. So it was very hard on me, very hard. Back to the packers, one broke a glass & I was in the next room, & he knew I was in there, so I heard it. I understand accidents happen, but he never said a word. I don't care about the glass cause it wasn't anything of value, but the thing I wasn't happy about is, he didn't tell me. Anyway back to the unloading my stuff. They broke something else & (that was of value) all he said was he was sorry. I thought they would at least do something about it, but they didn't. It was a glass lamp shade off of pan antique floor lamp (I am still trying to find a glass shade to fit it). So, after it was so called all over ( which it wasn't), the guy wrote up the ticket & what to my surprise it was 600.00 over of what he quoted me at. The driver knew that didn't settle with me at all, so he called his boss & he told him to take the 600 off (which I had already wrote up a check for the extra). I got out cash for the amount he quoted me at. So then the boss called but & said he would take off 300 instead. I had to write up another check. So you would think that was the end of my story, WRONG!!!! The boss had told me when I was finished unpacking, that they would pick up the boxes. So, we made a time for when they were going to get them. So, the morning of, they called to ask if the boxes were inside or outside & I said out. He said he was sorry but they couldn't pick up wet boxes. I told him I was not told that. So, "NO" I'll not recommend them to anyone. I am still unpacking & it has been almost 3 months since I moved. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER AT ALL. read more

Dave was incredibly helpful. I called on a federal holiday requesting help moving a 500 pound safe that day. True to his word, he phoned me back within an hour and had two movers at my house within two hours. Jose and Alfredo were prompt, friendly, and professional. Despite horrible, rainy weather, they quickly and efficiently loaded the safe on our rental truck after wrapping in blankets and shrink wrapping it from top to bottom to protect it from the weather. They had the proper equipment and the muscle to move the safe up a muddy slope from the basement to the driveway and accomplished the entire job in 45 minutes. I needed a large item moved and recieved their name as a referral from a local store. I called them on Saturday morning and they scheduled me for that afternoon. They showed up at the scheduled time, completed the work very professionally and carefully, and maintained a pleasant attitude. Last October I had Dave the Mover help me move a few items from a house and barn apartment in the country to an apartment 30 minutes away. Two movers showed up on time and they proceeded to pack up and move my things with no time wasted. We got the stuff loaded, hit the road and met up at the apartment. Nothing was broken or harmed, my things were hauled up two weird staircases, and placed exactly where I asked. Hired to move a Yamaha piano from the sellers first floor house to the buyers first floor house 6 miles apart. $270.00. Some positives: About what I thought it would cost. They were on time (a little early) and called an hour before arrival just like they said they would. They used mats to protect the floor. The negatives: They showed up without an enclosed trailer and only wrapped the top half of the piano. Really worried about winter road debris in this open trailer. They dropped the piano bench while moving the piano onto the trailer. While unloading the piano one of the front piano legs bent while unloading it.The leg attachment screw was loose enough to be able to screw the leg flush again. The four wheel dolly's are anything that you can get at the Tractor Supply Store. I did have to question there professionalism. I don't think that this is the way a musical instrument should be handled. If this was a desk, bedroom set, etc. I would give them more stars. To imply that moving piano's is your specialty is not right. You moved it the same way that anyone would move a heavy refrigerator. The difference is I cant play my refrigerator. A more professional process for my next piano move will be the Uhaul small enclosed trailer with a ramp, dolly, and a couple of buddies, I will wrap the whole piano too. read more

When I spoke with Dave the Mover on the phone (and I believe I was speaking with the owner, Dave himself), I was reassured by the idea that I was getting a quality, local mover who would be fast and efficient. Indeed, I had relied on such moving companies twice when I lived in New York and was very happy to use a family business. However, the movers who showed up were not the "A-Team" I was expecting. There were three of them - two men and a woman - and one of the men and the woman were less than efficient, in my estimation. I know it's a hard, thankless task to move someone, but I was stressed as it was, and I did not appreciate the attitude they took. For instance, when I told them what was being moved and where it was going, they'd exclaim "That's not going to work!" They also disagreed with me when I said we were moving an item, saying "That's not what your husband told us." They wouldn't move the item until my husband told them (for the second time, as he had in fact asked them to move the item earlier) that the item in question was coming with us. I was also irritated that the truck they brought wasn't large enough, entailing two trips. Fortunately it was an in-town move and only a few miles down the road, but when you're paying by the hour, it adds $$$ to the total cost. Altogether I spent as much as I would have had I gotten a "big" mover, and I felt judged and questioned. Sorry to say that as nice as Dave was, I wouldn't use this company again. read more
