We just completed a move from Pennsylania to Arizona with Bayshore. Our goods were picked up in October, in storage with Bayshore for about 4 months, then delivered beginning of March to our new home. From the estimate to pick up, through delivery, Bayshore was absolutely outstanding. The communication was terrific; the pick up went flawless and was so organized; the warehouse is climate-controlled, so art and electronics were all just fine; and the delivery was perfect. The truck arrived on time, preceded by a call from the driver, and the local team here in AZ were beyond great ~ respectful; affable and hard-working. Moving is stressful, however, any worries about going through the process were eliminated by the Bayshore team. My review is based on having used interstate movers 6 times in the last 40 years, some personal, some corporate. This is, in our opinion, by far the worst company that has moved us. Their weight estimate was a lot less than the competing quotes, so obviously a lot cheaper. But had we not culled more than we originally planned to move we'd have been over their limit for additional charges, so I have doubts in their estimating process. But the main reason I am giving them 1 star is that they did NOT take care of our items as well as someone in their price range should be. We have moved many times, we KNOW how to pack, but we have not had as many broken items as with these guys, they were really cramming our stuff hard in their truck as well as piling it high in our driveway for many hours on move out day. We also had a few furniture breakages and lost items from the unpacking process. We eventually did receive some partial compensation for a lost item and some breakage, but not nearly enough to cover. My advice, use United Van Lines. They may be more expensive but you'll get what you pay for. read more

I strongly recommend that anyone considering ShoreView Moving & Storage look elsewhere. ShoreView Moving & Storage is an agent for North American Van lines. They are also affiliated with Bayshore Moving and Storage. My interstate move involved handling by all three companies. My interstate move from Washington, DC to Florida was an extremely disappointing and troublesome experience. The move was poorly managed, the crew was rushed, instructions were disregarded, and numerous items arrived damaged while other valuable belongings were missing entirely. Equally bothersome has been ShoreView's lack of follow-through and nonexistent communication after the move. Despite extensive contact, documentation, photographs and repeated efforts on my part to resolve the matter directly and professionally, significant issues remain unresolved. In addition to their communication failures, there has been no attention regarding accountability. The process has required an extraordinary amount of time and effort simply to obtain any response from them. My damage and missing property claim is being managed by North American Van Lines and their parent company Sirva. The claims process has been inefficient, disorganized, delayed and still remains pending months since my move. A professional moving company is entrusted with both a customer's possessions and peace of mind. ShoreView Moving and Storage, as an agent for North American Van Lines, is not, in my view, one such company. Based upon my experience with ShoreView Moving and Storage, North American Van Lines and Bayshore Moving and Storage, I cannot make a recommendation to employ them. read more

While the sales process and the move-out of my apartment in Maryland was wonderful, that was where the wonder ended. The driver of my items showed up later than his estimated time on the delivery day then proceeded to be very rude to me about the fact his truck was so large it barely fit on the street. However, it was the damage that made this a one-star review. I had a bookshelf scratched, a box lost, a frame scratched, and the boxes were so mangled, that over 10 items were broken/shattered. Even the ones that I had written fragile on them were not treated with any care at all. Then it took them several weeks to figure out the claim and they said that was normal. Meanwhile, I have moved into a new house. Which by the way, they scratched so many walls and stairs, the independent estimate to fix it was over $5K. It was a BRAND NEW HOUSE. Scratches and scuffs EVERYWHERE. And the response of the driver was "well, those are just sweat marks." No - they were literally tears in the wall. Then the team they send out to document and fix the items ran late both times requiring me to rearrange my schedule twice to accommodate them. I would never recommend this company again. The photos are just a sample of the damage. Imagine these scuffs and scatches in every room, on every stair, and on most walls. read more

We hired Shoreview / Bayshore to move us out of our old home in May 2021. Everything went well and the crew did a really good job. They moved us into our new home July 2021 and the crew was a disaster. They banged up furniture and freshly painted walls, and were generally inept. They walked around and showed me all the damage and we signed off on the damage sheet inventory together. The office sent someone to do minor repairs and provide a cost estimate for other repairs. They denied everything in the claim and could not really answer questions or make any progress. It felt like we were being ignored until we went away. This went on for a year. The entire process was excellent. Tracey and Andrea provided excellent customer service. The moving crew showed up right on time to move our items out of out apartment in MD. They protected our walls, floor, and items. I has to request a hold on my items to allow time for closing on our home in SC, and they were more than accommodating. There was a slight glitch in our delivery time, but the crew was more than willing to correct. They also removed their shoes when entering our new home, protected the floor, protected the walls, and protected our staircase. Our house in Northern Virginia was packed on a Wednesday, loaded in the truck on Thursday and delivered to NC on Friday! The whole experience was great with ShoreView from beginning to end. We were provided with a coordinator (Andrea) who kept in contact with us throughout the move and ensured all was on target and we were satisfied with the process. Tracy did a walk through of our home (I highly recommend you have your moving specialist actually walk through your home, these on-line only estimates are misleading and costs are hidden that bite you in the end). We used Shore View/North American Van Lines to move us from Herndon VA to Kissimmee Fl in Aug 2024. From the estimate to the delivery of our furniture was as stress free as anyone could hope for. Right from the estimate (Rick C) to the truck arriving in Fl nothing but incredible customer service. Our coordinator Lindsay J was in constant contact with us from start to finish making sure we had all of the information we needed and always ready to answer questions. We did a the and a partial pack. Our driver Larry M and helper Stephanie, came to the apt a day before the move to help save time on moving day. On moving day Larry had 3 workers. Again, nothing but the best customer service ever. On pick and del day, the workers were friendly and very respectful. Larry was incredible. He picked up our furniture on Monday and delivered in Fl on Friday. He went way above and beyond to make our move go as smooth as possible. They took very good care of our belongings. I cannot say enough great things about this moving company. Throughout the entire process Tracey and Andrea assisted us, and with very little lead time. Andrea was in constant communication and professional. Alipio and the actual packing/ loading of the truck was easy and efficient. There were things that we didn't think about and they were taken care of without question. We moved across the country and I met Uriah (Spence) and Thomas in Florida to unload. We were downsizing, unloading at a home and storage unit and they still managed to finish the move stress -free. They are nice guys and a truly assets to their company. I will never use a "professional" moving company ever again, thanks to Shoreview/Bayshore. If they offered to move me for free, I'd decline. That's like Homer Simpson declining free Duff beer, or a cop refusing free hot Krispy Kremes. What happened that gave me moving PTSD? Do you have all day? No? How about some bullet points: 1) My truck driver showed up late. Is this a big deal? Nope. I was ready with McDonalds gift cards to hand out to him and his crew for lunch. But he didn't want to hear it. He stormed out of his truck, blustering and ready for a fight. (The crew members later told me the truck driver was pissed off because he got lost.) This isn't a good sign, but people who are moving are trapped, and ShoreView knows it. Within 5 minutes, he was YELLING loud enough for my neighbors (in a neighborhood with acreage) to hear him and come out to see what was going on. Highly unprofessional too, wouldn't you say? 2) My packer started out awesome. Well mannered, quick, courteous, and careful. Sounds like a dream, right? Well, that's what I thought too, until it started getting late and he started to repeatedly tell me he was running out of boxes. WHAT?! The company assured me he came with enough supplies for 3 houses. I offered to run out to Lowes to some more but he declined, but kept saying he was running out. Well, it must've been a MIRACLE because he never ran out of boxes. I did, however, have to supply my own Ziploc bags for sealing up liquids. I think he was just making up a story so that he could go home. (He'd been bellyaching about driving from the next state over, and having to come back the next day to finish the job). Is that even a way of doing business? 3) During the loading day, the crew but mostly the truck driver griped and complained all day long. "The sales guy screwed up, the estimator screwed up, I'm SO going to complain and challenge this..." That's nice that you guys have a system in place for disputes or whatever. But don't air the dirty laundry in front of the customer. 4) While unloading the truck, the truck driver muttered under his breath "I challenge some local loser moving company to try this. They can't do it." Well guess what, I did hire a local moving company to unload my storage unit, the one you loaded, and they RAN CIRCLES around your miserable crew. The local company did every single thing I asked, with smiles, and I didn't lift a finger all day because they were so responsive and easy to direct. They even entertained me. I'd pay THEM the $10,000 without thinking, all over again. By contrast, ShoreView's days were filled with 12 hours of physical labor and misery for me. 5) After unloading the truck, there were 35 boxes missing (out of over 200). The truck driver swore up and down that his truck didn't have any of my stuff in it. Then he said come into the truck, I guarantee you won't find anything of yours. So I did - I went in and without any trouble found 9 boxes that were mine. This was without touching or moving anything, just looking. So, I wonder if we had moved things, what else of mine would be found. I filed a claim with the company with my meticulous notes to show what box numbers and the contents, but they immediately rejected it. This is like having judge, jury, and executioner all be the same person. You are screwed from the beginning and they know it. 6) Between loading and unloading days, the estimator emailed me and said there was a huge error somewhere and would I pay half the overage fee, something like $2000. Are you serious? I replied: You did a bad job estimating my house, so bad that I had to ask you why you didn't open kitchen cabinets, or even ENTER the bathroom to see? I told you over and over that you need to see all the organizational boxes I have, so you get an accurate picture of what needs to be moved. Now you want me to pay for your mistakes? No way. Then he wrote me a sob story about how he was going to have to pay the difference out of his own pocket. Um dude, you didn't do your job correctly and I'm supposed to feel bad for you? This is probably why they automatically declined my claim. Nice. F-. Negative stars. Reply to Business owner: I read your reviews on other sites before choosing your company. Your even keeled replies to irate customers sealed the deal for me. Unfortunately, even keeled answers on review sites do not guarantee a good experience, as evidenced by my experience detailed above. You won't find me in your records because this isn't my real name. And I doubt "reviewing" anything now is going to change the atrocious way my move went down. Your truck driver can't unscream at me. He can't unscare my dog and kids. He can't unlose my stuff. Your packer can't unbullshit me. My moving PTSD won't go away. Truth be told, even if I got a full refund for my move, I would never hire you again. I'll gladly pack 50 moving pods myself and die 3 deaths doing it than have you guys do it. read more

I moved from the East Coast to the West Coast during Covid and am so grateful I found ShoreView. My prior interstate move experience with another company wasn't great so I wasn't sure who to go with. I liked the fact that ShoreView was a woman-run business which is unique for a moving company. They were extremely professional and communicated with me throughout the process. I want to *especially* thank my mover - Ed - who was the head mover in charge of my items from door to door. He was so professional throughout and even tried to help me figure out what to do with my items (i.e. storage options) when the new apartment wasn't what I expected it to be (I rented it site unseen b/c of Covid).
