We bought a necklace there on sale for $99, okay that was great, but he forced us, without even asking us, to buy an extra chain for it, because the one that came with it he claimed it to be "cheap" He did not ask us if we wanted to change it, he just did it. Then he made us, again without asking to buy a diamond guarentee on it as well. We paid $161 for my necklace after all these extra charges. Well we left and I called my mom, she had just bought me that same necklace for Valentine's day as a surprise. I got excited and my husband went to return the necklace, we just purchaced 10 minutes prior. RYAN claimed they didn't have the available funds to give us back our money and he would have to send us a check, even though we had just bought the necklace and 3 other perople just bought jewelry, they didnt have the funds to return my necklace and give me my cash. Now we have to wait a week for our refund!!! Stay FAR away!!!

I purchased 2 rings on American Express in Montana but decided to return one in Grand Forks, ND the…read morevery next day. They told me they could not refund my return back onto the American Express card it was purchased on. The clerk said it was declined because it wasn't an American card (it was a Canadian card) & I'd have to wait to receive a check from them. I've never heard of a card being declined when a purchase was to be refunded onto it before in my life! Anyway when I returned home, I called American Express only to find that what the sales clerk told me was not true.They said the clerk didn't process the refund properly. He kept calling my card a debit card while I kept telling him it was a credit card. He said it was the same thing but American Express said it isn't which is exactly what I thought. Needless to say I'm not impressed with Kay Jewellers staff in Grand Forks & don't recommend this store to anyone. I now have to wait for my refund to arrive by mail & who knows when I'll receive it! However, in the meantime I have to pay interest charges on my credit card because the clerk wouldn't refund it back onto it. The clerk who served me in Grand Forks was rude & not helpful at all. He kept pushing me to exchange the ring while I kept saying I wanted a refund. This is not a good business practice at all! Beware!
