More concerning, the crew left an unsealed gap on the exterior door frame -- an opening that allows rainwater to penetrate and risks causing damage such as dry rot. When I raised this issue and suggested caulking as a straightforward fix, the technician's response was simply, "we don't caulk." The manager's response was just as adamant. As a result, I was left with an incomplete job and had to hire a separate contractor to seal the gap at my own expense at a cost of $300. Salem Garage Door's crew was otherwise professional and persistent in addressing the noise issue, and the door itself functions well -- but a finishing detail this important to weatherproofing should not fall outside the scope of their work, particularly since the crew created the gap.
