I started about 4 months prior and every time I needed to change something on the order, Max or one of the other employees made it painless. I paid the extra $40 for delivery and everything was ready in about an hour. If you have any type of event, and especially if you need a dance floor, you need to call Dave's. I used Dave's party rentals for my Wedding, I was trying to keep my vendors local. That was a HUGE mistake. I placed my order with Dave's 6 months prior to my wedding, I was called two weeks before my date to get a deposit to place an order for some items that he did not have available. I asked if they wanted the full amount but was told 100.00 was enough to get the order placed and the rest would be due at the time of pick up. The Woman I spoke with told me everything could be picked up the Thursday before my wedding. Thursday night rolls around and she calls me apologizing that a large order was the same day as mine and she was working her hardest but that my order wouldn't be ready until Friday. Ok, no problem so Friday after all the setup is done and I have not heard anything from them I call to see when I can pick everything up. The woman explains that my order is still not ready and now will not be ready until SATURDAY that day of my wedding. I was so upset and ask to speak with Dave. Dave was extremely RUDE he told me " If I wasn't wasting his time on the phone explaining things to me he could be working on my order" and " I didn't even GET ANY MONEY out of you until two weeks ago" this man should not own a business as he has no clue what customer service is. I was in tears when I got off the phone and was so upset and preoccupied though my whole rehearsal dinner. I didn't get the order until Saturday and had to fold 175 napkins which put me behind for pictures and as a result made my guests wait longer for the wedding to start. He is a horrible business owner and I will continue to tell everyone I know about what he did to me. He does not deserve or appreciate your business. read more

Daves Rental played a significant role in a Celebration of Life party for 100 people. The party was hosted in a back yard with a very large pool dividing the yard. Daves Rental visited the property 4 days in advance. They provided and set up huge tents, tables, lights, linen, modern plates and silverware for 100 people. They were excellent to work with, on time, followed through and went over and beyond the expectations. Daves crew set up the day before and came back a couple of days later to take down ( party fell on a Saturday and I didn't want them working on a Sunday ) They absolutely cleaned up everything and some. The back yard looked amazing after they left. I trust Daves Rental. I gave them access codes to come and go and they never abused their freedom. The job was elegantly executed and I was super proud of their work ethics. I highly recommend. read more

New to the area and called Daves Party Rental after a quick google search for rental places in the area. Talked to a very nice guy who assured me they had everything I needed and that due to the holiday they would be closed for a few days but the rental prices would remain the same as if I was renting for 1-day. Super nice team. I realized I needed a few extra items when I got there and they were more than helpful with adding them to my order. The young man loaded everything in my car with no problems. When I returned, the office staff was equally as pleasant and I am definitely going to be using DPR in the future. They just made it sooo easy! read more

I went here to inquire for my wedding. They made me feel so assured and comfortable that they would be providing nearly everything my Mother-in-law (God Bless her sou, as she passed prior to the Wedding Dorthy Lynn) and Wife all agreed planned out my entire event with their staff and spent months of organizing and managing everything down to the second the bride walks in and they dropped the ball on my wedding plan only two-week. Before my wedding I could not believe that they blatantly lied to me throughout several meetings, by stating that everything's ready to go and two weeks prior they said their vendors business shutdown and went bankrupt apparently over night but I did my research and it was something that was announced months before my wedding. Anyhow I wouldn't even let them manage the oxogen level at my wedding. Thank god Chico has a far better wedding/event rental company that was far cheaper and actually in-stock not somewhere in a random city. Thanks to WeDo Designs!!!! read more

When we got our quote we were told $64 for the day online. When we arrived the price was increased to $98. They cut hours understandabley due to COVID 19 but charged us after hours drop off ($20) even though they were open for only 4 hours. Then charged us a $25 clean up fee on a truck that was already cleaner than when we received it. All in all this rental cost over $100 more than what we were lead to believe. Dishonest and rude conduct. Price manipulation and out right laziness sum up our experience at this UHaul location. read more

Took over 2 hours to get a UHaul I reserved the night before. Was told one thing over the phone and another in person regarding cost. The lady had no idea how to work the computer and vented her frustration with her inability to work the computer on me. I would steer clear of this place if procuring your rental and getting about your day in a timely manner is your type of thing. read more

I have never written a Yelp. Didn't think I ever would. But this business is so bad I would really feel bad if I did not try to warn someone before their event was ruined. Ours could have been but we just finally shrugged off how bad the linens were and tried to enjoy our party anyway. I actually had already read the other review on here and should have listened and went to chico, but I try to support our town also. First off the Man that was working their was very nice. He took time to help me pick out linens and actually was giving me some for free. He was very pleasant. His wife how ever is another story. She is unreasonable. He asked her the night I came to pick out linens to show me the over lays and napkins. She said that was ok there were a lot and she would make sure they were "nice" So I never saw the overlays and I saw some napkins but not the ones she gave me. My sister picked them up the day before the event. The overlays were way to dark for the table cloths and then the napkins were a completely different shade didn't match either of them. We called her and asked her to take the over lays back to make it easy for her and just give us grey napkins since the ones she gave us matched nothing. She said ok . Well when I got there she tried to charge me 48 more dollars over the almost 100 I spent. I tried to explain that I just wanted to trade because they didn't go with anything she gave me . She actually said I didn't know you wanted them to "coordinate", so its not my fault and you have to pay for the new ones. I couldn't believe it and became upset. she helps peope all the time and she didn't know I want it to coordinate! I said I would just use the ones I had I wasn't paying her another penny. She then offered them half price. I told her to keep them. Then her husband came in and saw how upset I was. Then the wife said I could take them for free. I was so upset by then I left after telling them I would never use their business again. Well it got worse, when we put the linens out we were short at least 2. And they were stained really bad. We took photos so they couldn't say we did it. On Monday my sister returned them because I was to upset to go back. She did the same thing to my sister. Accusing her of loosing the missing ones and staining the other ones even tho the pictures were timed. Then she accused me of staining them because i "threw" the box on the floor. It was all so ridiculous So in a summary she does not care about costumer satisfaction at all. the costumer is wrong and they are liars too. I work in a public field we could not treat our people like that. I know this is long but if I can save one person from the mistreatment of this business it will be worth it. Go to chico, its worth the drive. Oh and she texted my sister and told her we were not allowed back in her business. Don't worry Tammy we will not be, neither will our friends and family. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! They ripped me off. I had payed for tables and chairs in full and was never aware of a "deposit". Long story short I went to get my $500 back and they said they were keeping $56 of it for deposit because they "just started doing that". Well it should have been made aware of from the beginning. Thanks for making a day that was already sad even worse because you people are greedy. I will not go here ever. We recently hosted a baby shower and rented round tables, 80 white chairs and 9 table cloths. One of the tables was broken, the chairs were good quality but very dirty and some were stained and the tablecloths were terribly wrinkled!!! After an hour of trying to iron them we gave up. When we called to let them know, they acted as if they could care less...probably because they already had our money. We usually use Special Times catering and Mindy uses her connection for all of our rentals. Dave's just lost a VERY good customer who throws parties all the time with guest counts in the hundreds! I rented a u haul from this place and received a truck with a cut gas line. I was 30 miles from oroville at a gas station filling up the fuel tank when I realized as I was putting gas in the truck, gas was leaking from the fuel line under the truck seeping at my feet. It was after hours therefore I was unable to reach anyone at the office to tell them about the situation so when I was able to get someone on the phone in the morning all I was told by the associate was "Oh, must be a cut gas line from someone who tried to first syphon gas out. Thank you for letting me know." Not anything about how dangerous of situation I was put in. They showed no surprise that there was a whole in the tank so it must be something that happens often. Before sending each vehicle out there should be safety check which they obviously failed to do. What if the break line would have been cut? I'm am just extremely angry that this business put my family and I on extreme danger and the response that I received from them. I absolutely do not recommend getting uhauls from this location. read more

On Weds Jan 27, I reserved, in person, from Dave's Party Rental, a 5x8 cargo trailer to be picked up the morning of Jan 30. When I arrived to pick up the trailer, I waited 20 minutes for assistance, before I was told that the trailer and contract had been transferred to Garden Drive Mini Storage. No explanation was offered. I arrived at the Garden Drive location and discovered they opened in 10 minutes. I waited 25 minutes and no one opened the office. I tried to call their phone number - no answer. I drove back to Dave's Party Rental for assistance. They tried to call Garden Drive and a woman answered, but said she couldn't rent the trailer because she didn't know how to log into the computer. A call then came in from her manager explaining that the trailer was taken to the mini-storage because it was down for repairs. I asked Dave's if there was another location in town that I could try because they had nothing available. Instead of directing me, they made a call and found a trailer available that they would need to go pick up from someone named "Kim". I have no idea how U-Haul works, but I'm guessing if I had gone to another location, Dave's would have not received "credit" for the rental, so they didn't want to give me the names of other locations to try? I had already lost over two hours of moving time because of this, but was willing to wait for someone to go get the trailer, from wherever it was, because I felt my options were pretty much non-existent. Then, instead of assisting me by going to pick up the trailer, the two people working there played and chatted with a bird - yes, a bird - AND while turning their attention from my situation, began assisting a customer who came in after I did and pretty much acted like they had all the time in the world to go get the trailer I needed. I waited a few minutes more and finally told them to forget it; this was just getting crazy, and I walked out. I had to drive over to Chico in the hopes that someone would have a trailer. I ended up at U-Haul Moving and Storage, where I received STELLAR service and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. read more
