Beautiful park. So much to see. Boat docks were great for fishing. The falls were very pretty. We didn't eat at restaurant, the menu was limited and we craved something different. Park is very well kept. We saw deer and turtles. The bird sanctuary was small, but really cool. Defiantly worth the stop.

I only spent a couple hours here, but what I saw was lovely. The park is huge and has many, MANY features that I did not see or take advantage of, so I can't comment about them. However, it looks like THIS is THE reason to visit the Lawrenceburg area. Reading the roadside materials about The Trail of Tears was moving. The little waterfall was gorgeous. The lake was impressive. The bird aviary was pretty cool. I'm afraid that's really all I had time to see. Perhaps one day I'll be lucky enough to return and spend more time here. Other Yelp reviewers have uploaded a TON of photos, so there's little else I could add in that area, but the little waterfall will always be a special place to me.

Nice, clean, large cabins and friendly staff. We enjoyed ourselves on a long weekend. Need more pet-friendly cabins!

Stayed here the second weekend of November. Car camped at Campground #1 Primitive #8. Other than a few campers, the spots were all empty. We were the only primitive campers. The only negative was you could hear cars at night and several ambulances. Wish we would have stayed deeper in the park at Campground #2. The bathrooms were very nice. Both bathrooms and showered were heated. As it got down to 35F or so at night this was a nice warm up. FYI, Our particular site was nice because it was on the creek and the playground was far off but close enough to let your kids run over while you set up the tent. Jerry and Dianne were kind and helpful. Walmart is about ten minutes away. Lots of things to do. If you take the long and newer orange trail, watch out for snakes and also yes... it isn't clear but yes... you have to go knee deep at the base of the water fall to cross to the other side. Believe it or not the trail does continue on the other side. Good times. Great park! Great restaurant. Sliders and steak were great! Great staff with a nice little gift shop as well.

Lovely park. Great historical significance. Well maintained and staff was friendly. River was super nice. Trail was hard but worth it. I'd give it a 10 out of 10!

The DCSP is about 1000 acres, and there are a 1000 things to do. You can hike, bike, boat, fish, swim, camp, picnic, rent cabins, watch wildlife, visit the David Crockett Museum. They also have several playgrounds, and a restaurant. The park hosts festivals, family reunions, and Easter egg hunts. The rangers have demonstrations and lead hikes throughout the year. The park is pet friendly, but dogs must be leashed. Open all year, admission is free, but fees are charged at the pool, cabins, campground, and for boat rentals.

Peeping holes in restrooms. It's obvious that Rangers allow this next to a playground since the holes have been in the stalls for years.

Absolutely Outstanding Tennessee State Park - A True Hidden Gem!…read more We just wrapped up an unforgettable evening at Henry Horton State Park, and it easily earns every one of its five stars. Located along the beautiful Duck River--one of the most biodiverse rivers in the world--this park offers the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and family fun without feeling overcrowded. The campground is top-notch: spacious, well-maintained RV sites with concrete pads, reliable Wi-Fi, clean and modern bathhouses, and plenty of peaceful wooded tent and primitive options (including some great backcountry sites for those seeking more solitude). We loved the thoughtful amenities like the camp store, playgrounds, splash pad, and even a nature play area that kept the kids entertained for hours. Activities here are incredibly diverse. We hiked several of the easy-to-moderate trails, including the scenic ones along the Duck River with observation decks overlooking wetlands teeming with wildlife. The 18-hole disc golf course is one of the best we've played in Tennessee--free and well-designed. Golfers will appreciate the championship Buford Ellington Golf Course right on site, while paddlers and anglers flock to the river for kayaking, fishing, or lazy tubing. Bonus points for the trap and skeet range if you're into shooting sports! The on-site restaurant (Governor's Table) serves surprisingly delicious meals, making it easy to grab breakfast or dinner without leaving the park. Staff and rangers were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the park--always quick to offer tips or help. Whether you're camping, staying in one of the comfortable cabins or lodge rooms, or just coming for a day trip, Henry Horton delivers a peaceful, well-kept escape that's perfect for families, couples, or solo adventurers. It's close enough to Nashville (under an hour) but feels like a true getaway. We can't wait to return--highly recommend for anyone in Middle Tennessee looking for quality outdoor recreation.
